The atmosphere in these chapters is just so rich and immersive. Let me paint you a picture: Chen Qing walking through the machinery factory compound at night, streetlights casting long shadows, knowing that everyone in the area is basically a colleague working shifts around the clock. There's this incredible sense of a closed, self-contained world where the factory isn't just a workplace—it's a entire ecosystem. People live there, raise children there, complain about apartment sizes and meat coupon subsidies there. And then the recycling station scene—fifty cents to enter, a flashlight in hand, scanning through piles of discarded books and newspapers under the gatekeeper's suspicious gaze. The gatekeeper literally warns her that 'the Revolutionary Committee isn't foolish enough to send valuable items here.' You can feel the era pressing down on every scene. The evening party reception is another standout: thirty-seven researchers, three large tables piled high with chicken, duck, goose, and fish, and Chen Qing standing at the entrance like a nervous greeter while Director Liu sweats behind her. The contrast between the lavish spread meant for honored guests and Chen Qing's genuine hunger (both literal and metaphorical) is just devastating in the best way.

After reading up to 5 chapter. So far I must say that I'm impressed by story so far. The writing is good with no grammar issues.A small criticism I have is that the chapters are quite long. Maybe cutting them down into small paragraph.overall, enjoying it so far

this novel has great potential , the author focuses more on the relationship between the family and building their characters, it's good only sometimes I forget the age of the fl since she REALLY acts childish ( especially with that God fairy ...) and sometimes naive ... i really hope her character develops fast another point that I appreciate this novel for is that the face slapping and schemes . the ideas and revenge is well written and very logical.the novel is yet at the baby stage and sure it will be one of the great gems in this site with great ideas and improvement .thank you author ??
