Okay so this opening is INTENSE. Like, I was genuinely on edge the entire time. The stakes are established immediately—this beautiful pregnant woman is in labor on a packed bus, and nobody is helping her. Actually, they're making it worse. The yellow-haired livestreamer is the worst character ever, and I wanted to scream at him through the page. 'Send gifts to cheer her on!' WHAT? The driver literally walks over and grabs her arm to force her off the bus while she's in active labor. The middle-aged man touching her belly without consent—my blood was boiling. But here's the thing that makes this work so well: the author doesn't let up. Every time you think it can't get worse, someone makes it worse. The contrast between the ordinary morning commute and this life-or-death situation is brutal. Mianmian becomes this tiny beacon of resistance, blocking the camera, offering her school uniform as a blanket. She's just a high school student and she's the only decent human being on that entire bus. The tension never drops. I had to read this in one sitting because I needed to know what happened.
Let me be real with you — I started reading this at 10 PM and it is now 2 AM and I have not moved from this couch. The pacing is absolutely ruthless in the best way possible. Chapter 1 hits you with the wedding humiliation, then immediately pivots to the confrontation in the bridal suite, then drops the Lu Sibo revelation, and ends with her posting that photo. That's like four major plot points in one chapter and I was gasping the entire time. Chapter 2 gives us her backstory — the abusive stepfather, the stepsister, meeting Lu Sibo — but it's woven in so naturally through her thoughts in the bathroom. No info-dump, just raw emotion and memory. And then she cuts up the dress. The pacing between her emotional breakdown and her cold calculation is perfect. Chapter 3 throws us into the nightclub scene and ends with Lu Tingyan seeing her in that red dress. The transition from the manor to the nightclub, from day to night, from wedding to aftermath — it all flows so smoothly. The author knows exactly when to slow down (her backstory, the bathroom mirror scene) and when to accelerate (the wedding collapse, the slap, the photo post). I couldn't put it down and I'm already desperate for chapter 8.
looks promising hopefully it's keeps my attention because the synopsis is good ?
Seems interesting; the writing is pretty good, and the characters stand out so far. It definitely reminds me *a lot* of hunger games. I hope it can live up to it!
It’s a word-for-word copy of Reverend Insanity. It’s not even funny. This should be illegal. ???Might as well call this a fanfic.?u200d♂️
I'm desperately waiting for chapter 30, and author did not upload today's chapter on time. Although it's a five star review, it's also a way of venting my complaints. Thank you!
Would have given a perfect 5 if not for the update schedule and also still early to judge, but the first few chapters were enough for me to add this to my library, and want to read more of this
It is a wonderful and addictive story.
Can we get some updates or is the novel being dropped?
I am very interested so far with the 30 chapters that have been released. The story is really interesting, well written in terms of grammar and pacing, and it's extremely unique. The main character is an extreme devotee of god, but he is SO devoted that it wraps right back around to being extremely dark thematically, which I absolutely love. Think "Overlord" but which a religious nutcase instead of an edgy skeleton king. (Which is high praise, because I love overlord)rarely do I give a book a perfect 5.0 review, and this one seriously deserves it. Well done, author.
Overall really good so far and I look forward to more! There were a few things that I didn’t like or felt could have been better but most of those were minor and mostly personal opinions. Good work, just need more chapters.
No ntr = win
