After diving into the first few chapters of this book, I can confidently say that it's a mesmerizing experience. The world-building is impressive, filled with vivid imagery and intricate details that transport you to this new universe. What I love most is the depth of character development. I genuinely can't wait to see how they evolve. Kudos to the author for such this work!

Just by reading the synopsis, I find this book captivating. I will surely add it to my library. I really hope this Daniel guy isn’t the ML for Chantelle. And, hopefully FL isn’t one to be mess and make a fool of. I would love to see her an intelligent cunning woman more than her evil twin sister, Kate. It’s frustrating to read books with the Revenge genre but the FL is still as pathetic as she was before she divorced and declared for revenge. I would love to see a real revenge and lots of faceslapping moments?

Let's talk about how Wei Zhao speaks because this man has zero filter and I am OBSESSED. The scene where he wraps his robe around Jiang Yihuan and says: "No matter the circumstances, your life is always more important than your reputation. If anyone dares mock you or humiliate you... Kill them." That's not romance novel dialogue. That's a man who has never once in his life been told no, delivering threats like he's ordering dinner. And Jiang Yihuan's response? "...Waaah... H-how could I kill anyone?" The contrast between his violence and her softness is comedic gold. Then there's her interaction with the noble girls. When Pei Nianfang accuses her and Jiang Yihuan goes: "Since no one in his family has passed away, I can't exactly walk around with a mournful face, can I?" THE WHOLE ROOM FROZE. I laughed out loud. This girl has no social survival instincts but somehow her blunt honesty disarms everyone. Even Wei Zhilan's cold delivery — "Your brother nearly got my brother killed. Compared to that, what little grievance have you suffered?" — feels distinct. Every character has a voice. The narrative tone itself is dry and slightly sardonic, never over-explaining emotions. It lets the dialogue carry the weight.
The novel has a very interesting premise, will Julius carry out technological advances and implement concepts of the future? Due to his condition as a historian he should have a vague idea, call it a four-field system, some industrial concept or other such as division of labor, specialization of workers, assembly lines, even gunpowder, etc. or will he continue with the technological level of Rome and eventually reach the level of the empire?
i have not really started the novel because I just came across it but i immediately got interested in it through the synopsis which makes me believe it would be worth it.
