Let's talk about what Su Nian is willing to risk here, because the stakes are set up so clearly and so personally. This isn't just a survival story — it's a mother protecting her child, and that changes everything about how we read every decision she makes. From the very first paragraph, we know Xingxing is counting through his tears and Su Nian is pressing the accelerator harder. She's desperate. The highway is blocked, she's running out of time, and her ex-husband Lu Chen calls about Shuixi Village — someplace she needs to get to. The stakes are established immediately: get to the village or what? But the real conflict isn't just about zombies. It's about the people she meets. Those three men at the factory — the tall one with the iron pipe, the skinny one with the torch, the heavyset one with the brick. They represent the real danger in this world. The zombies are just animals. These men are calculating, patient, willing to negotiate and then threaten. When the tall man says "We don't want your life. We only want the truck," that's when you know this is worse than any zombie. Su Nian's internal conflict is what makes this section incredible. She's exhausted, she's terrified, but she's also calculating. She considers giving up the truck to save herself and her son. She even negotiates — "leave us half" — showing she's trying to find a peaceful solution. But when she realizes they won't give her a fair deal, something shifts. The text says: "Su Nian knew she couldn't afford to be softhearted anymore. They might not leave either her or her son alive." And then she pulls that machete. The violence is sudden, precise, and terrifying. She slices the heavyset man's arm open in one motion — not because she's a killer, but because she's a mother who just realized there's no other way. Afterward, her hands tremble. She's not a warrior. She's a woman who just did something terrible to keep her son safe. That's the conflict that stays with you.
Let me just say this once and be done with it: the dialogue in this book is absolutely criminal. Each character has a voice so distinct that I can tell who's speaking without looking at the name tags. The protagonist? Sharp, deflective, uses humor as armor. Their best friend? Warm but with this undercurrent of sadness that comes through in every conversation, like they're always half-listening to something painful. And the antagonist — oh god, the antagonist. They don't sound like a villain. They sound like someone who genuinely believes they're the hero, and that's what makes them terrifying. There's this one exchange where two characters are arguing about something trivial — I think it was about whether to trust a stranger — and beneath the surface you can hear the real argument: about fear, about past betrayals, about the cost of opening up. The author writes subtext like a master. Every conversation is a dance. And the humor! I laughed out loud multiple times. There's a running bit with this one character's completely deadpan delivery that had me wheezing. But then it'll pivot — one sentence — and you're crying. The tonal whiplash is real. I love it. I hate it. I need more.
Okay so I need to talk about this scene where Su Jiuyue exposes Liu Laizi because honestly it was one of the most satisfying moments I have ever read in a novel. Like, the stepmother brings this guy in claiming he is a virgin bachelor, all clean and respectable, and Su Jiuyue just dismantles his entire reputation in about thirty seconds flat. She notices his stiff knees, the ashen complexion, the rotting smell that no amount of soap can cover, and then drops the line about yangmei chuang like it is nothing. The way she builds up to it is masterful. She makes the crowd step closer first, lets them all smell him, watches them recoil, and THEN she delivers the medical diagnosis that turns the entire situation on its head. People scattered three meters away the moment she said venereal disease. I literally laughed out loud. But here is what really got me—the setup was so tight. Li Guilan had this whole plan to marry Su Jiuyue off to a sick man so they would both die and she could seize the property. The irony is almost comical. And Su Jiuyue, who has been hiding her medical knowledge this whole time, just lets it slip in front of everyone. Huo Zhixing notices immediately of course. He asks her quietly afterward if she knows medicine and she has to come up with this half-truth about her mother leaving medical casebooks. Which is actually true but she was never supposed to reveal it. The plot threads are weaving together so nicely here. Every revelation raises new questions. Who was this Ghost Physician? What else is Su Jiuyue hiding? And that old military doctor at the end speculating about her being the disciple—now THAT is a hook that made me desperate to keep reading.
I just finished reading your book, and I have to say, it’s absolutely fantastic! I truly enjoyed it. I’d love to offer a few tips that might help boost the performance and visibility of your book even more. I believe these could take your work to the next level
Shameless author here, writing a review for my own book. Is it five stars? I couldn’t say—this is my first time writing, after all. But if you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them all!• “What is this book about?” Set in a vast galaxy filled with multiple planets, diverse races, mysteries, and unique cultures—all waiting to be explored. Expect intense battles, large-scale wars, and deep philosophical themes. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy—if you love space and crazy fights, this might be for you.• “Fights, you say? What are they like?” The fights start off slower-paced in the beginning, but as the story progresses, they get crazier—think city-destroying, Bleach-level battles. Expect intense, cinematic action that keeps you hooked.• “What’s the MC like?” He’s a young man searching for change in his life—and he gets it. He struggles mentally, often finding himself alone, wrestling with his own thoughts. You’ll love following him, and his journey. I promise it will keep you invested.• “Will there be a harem or any romance?” No harem. As for romance… I can’t say much without spoiling anything.• “Why are you writing a review for your own book?” To answer any questions or concerns you might have! If this piqued your interest, I’d love for you to check out my book.I plan to upload one chapter a day-at least, as long as life doesn’t get in the way. With that said, I hope you have a great day or night!

"Fathaless" is truly a great book! The atmosphere is captivating from start to finish, drawing you in and keeping you curious with every page. The characters are well-written, each with depth and realism. The plot flows smoothly—there are no unnecessary stretches or rushed scenes. The descriptions are just right, making it easy to visualize every moment. It's the kind of story that keeps you hooked until the very end!
There is nothing wrong with the fics. it's just the characters in the story are not engaging enough.
Man I love this novel. I have read a lot of boring novels with system but this is peak
Me gusta mucho la verdad es bastante completo y no tenes muchos capítulos de "relleno" la verdad espero más capítulos con ansias, la verdad le tengo mucha confianza a esta novela espero y suban capítulos lo antes posible
I must say the characters are quite well written. The world building is very well done and it keeps you wanting for more. Really love how much detail the author has put into the story doing it just right, neither too much not too less. Will I recommend this yes
