I need to talk about the fruit wine. Not because it's plot-relevant — it's not — but because I think it's the single most important symbol in this entire passage. Yan Qing takes plums and sea buckthorn, layers them with sugar, pours in grain liquor, seals the jar, and stores it in a cool, shady spot. Then she does it again. And again. Four barrels total. She empties her entire storage to make them. Every piece of fruit she has goes into these jars, and in return, she gets nothing — not yet. The wine won't be ready for months. Maybe longer. This is the story's thesis statement, wrapped in a glass jar: patience as an active practice, not a passive waiting. She's not just hoping things will work out. She's investing everything she has now for a reward she won't taste for a very long time. That's faith. That's commitment. That's the opposite of the instant-gratification mindset that dominates so much of modern life. And then there's the corn dish. She makes it once, eats two bowls, gives the rest to the bears. It's a small, temporary pleasure — refreshing, light, summery. But the dried vegetables? Those are for winter. "Easily a hundred times better" than fresh, she believes. She's trading summer's immediate abundance for winter's concentrated depth. That's not just food preservation. That's a philosophy. The bears catching fish in the creek on their own? That's another layer. They don't need her anymore. The ecosystem is self-sustaining. She's not the center of this world — she's a participant in it. The whole passage is about finding your place in a system larger than yourself, and contributing to it without expecting immediate return. The wine ferments in the dark. The vegetables dry in the sun. The seeds wait underground. Everything has its own timing.
The dialogue in these chapters is absolutely lethal. Feng Ci's voice is this perfect mix of exasperated deadpan and reluctant softness. Lines like 'I don't like repeating myself' and 'That's not the point' when Berry is being adorably clueless—chef's kiss. And Berry's voice? She's three going on thirty with the confidence of someone who just declared 'A kind little witch never eats alone' while serving poison soup. The contrast between her formal witch-speak and toddler logic is comedy gold. My absolute favorite exchange has to be the Universe Bag misunderstanding. Feng Ci's chuunibyou soul ignites seeing her cloak-bag, goes full anime mode yelling 'That's a Universe Bag! Right?! Infinite storage space!' and Berry just goes 'It's not called a Money Bag. Grandma made this little shoulder bag for me out of a cloak, so it's called Grandma's Bag.' The way his burning chuunibyou soul just... cooled down instantly. And then his internal monologue 'Forget it, what was the point of talking to a three-year-old?' I literally laughed out loud. The author's voice is sharp, witty, and never wastes a line. Every dialogue snippet reveals character.
Amazing ?? and interesting highly recommend
Loved it. Even the other novels. I hope this novel keeps on running till the end. Please don't drop it in between.
I really love his writing skills. Chapter one alone was enough to get me to rate the novel 5 stars.
Wow, the overall quality is on another level !
This novel gave me an adrenaline rush due to how exciting it was! Waiting for the male lead's journey!
Author hereI'll just break it down for you guys.I'm not a fan of overly described physical aspects, I prefer describing emotions and small actions that speak more than words.I like action scenes, with powers, and explosions. There's a lot of magic stuff but also physics and real world basis for everything in the story. This is not the traditional type of God plot. They don't have subjects, they don't get worshiped -at least not all the time. This is abt normal people that became Gods, they are not evil nor saints.I'm opened for discussions. I'm obsessed with using AI to create portraits of the Four Gods.
I don't know why this book has such low views and fans. Although I only recently started reading on Webnovel, I can tell this novel is great as a Murim and system story. It has a unique system and a ruthless MC. When I saw that this story had so few fans, I felt I should write a review for other readers.
i litrally love this story so much , my only problem is that my parents confiscated my phone and i have no idea how to download the app on my laptop so i can unlock more chapters.
just giving back my review :) so please update more author!
Great Novel! The characters are well written an feel pretty real, they dont feel like cheap cardboard. The only issue i have with this which is a personal one and not one most people would have is the main character. Hes just simply not strong enough. Dont get me wron his progression in both strength and character have been great, but ive read many novels with the same premise so its gotten kinda boring for me. Im half tempted to write a fanfic on this where everything is the same just the Mc is absolutely Op like Gojo Satoru levels of Op. I think the interactions between the Mc and the other characters would be mega funny. Like Liyana threatens to kill him for being with another girl and he just tells her she cant and that shes weak. Itd be funny as hell.
