Okay, I need to talk about General Qin and his son Qin Kuan because THIS father-son dynamic is absolutely unhinged and I cannot stop thinking about it. The man is literally sweating through political crises while his youngest son is over there rubbing his face against his father's fist like a cat begging for pets. "Go ahead, hit me! Aim for the face! Tomorrow I'll still be going to the palace to study!" — bro, what kind of person are you, honestly. And General Qin's internal monologue about how if he beats his son his own mother will come beat him and his wife will skin him alive is the most relatable thing I've ever read. But then the father actually drops some serious political philosophy on him, right? The whole argument about why a woman can't rule in times of chaos — and the text explicitly notes "this argument couldn't withstand close scrutiny" but it still shut Qin Kuan up. That's the thing about toxic family dynamics, the people in power don't need logic, they just need volume. Qin Kuan standing there stammering with his face red is simultaneously pathetic and kind of funny because he genuinely doesn't understand why his father won't just let him pine after the princess in peace. And then General Qin picks up a piece of paper that says RESUME and suddenly the whole political chess game shifts. This man went from yelling at his son to immediately consulting his strategist about the princess's innovations. The man is a walking contradiction — he opposes the princess publicly but is clearly fascinated by her methods. I love that the strategist shows up uninvited like "I was already on my way" with that mysterious beard-stroking energy. The political intrigue is simmering under every scene and I'm here for it.
Okay so this whole hospital sequence is basically a masterclass in how to take a setup that could have been a two-page scene and stretch it into actual drama without losing momentum. Let me walk through it. The author starts us with the car ride—gossip, exposition about President Niu's stinginess, the five-million-yuan reward. This is all setup, but it's quick. We're moving. Then Tu Qing's soul is in the car, Xin Ying can't see her, and suddenly we have this weird spatial comedy happening. The pacing here is light, almost breezy, which makes the shift when they arrive at the hospital feel earned. Inside the hospital room, the author drops us into immediate conflict. Niu Guangxiong is already furious about the true love's kiss idea. Xu Xiao is already suspicious. The Daoist is already scheming. No slow buildup—we're thrown right into the mess. And then the physical comedy of Tu Qing tripping Niu, Qin Su stepping in, the kiss happening, Tu Qing's soul returning—all of it plays out in a few paragraphs with zero drag. What I love is the structural pivot at the end. Tu Qing wakes up, asks if Qin Su is her girlfriend, and suddenly the entire scene flips from comedy into something with actual emotional weight. Xu Xiao's reaction, Niu's heartbreak, Tu Qing clinging to Qin Su—it all lands because the pacing gave us room to breathe between beats. The chapter ends with the money transfer and Tu Qing moving in, which is a neat button on the plot thread, but the real structural genius is how the author uses the amnesia reveal to reset the entire relationship dynamic mid-scene. We go from "rivals" to "roommates" in the span of three paragraphs, and it works because the pacing never lets us get too comfortable with either state.
By the way all of can check out "Shadow King's Legacy" it's very good
I love this novel is one of the best novel on Webnovel
Let me start by saying the First chapter almost traumatized me like I was shedding tears for the MC to the point I wanted to just ??? the ML. My dear MC just suffer for something he didn't do and for him to steal love the person who killed even me couldn't do sure thing without getting revenge. Overall love the story and MC(so cute(●♡∀♡)).
The two chapters have a lot of movie references; maybe the author could tone it down a notch. Otherwise, it's a good read.Give it a try
I really enjoyed this it’s so interesting?please keep updating
discovered the webtoon adaptation and absolutely fell in love with the story. the mc is so funny and unique, and the system is super OP, haha. even better are the many events and people he meets, making it all feel like a truly vast world. the number of connections he's forging and the speed at which his career is going is so good to see! 10/10 would recommend reading this and the webtoon. though the recent chapters apparenetly ended at novel chapter 103.. so i suppose i can only show my support here through a review and will look for later parts elsewhere. do very much recommend reading it though! if more chapters were on here i'd be spending coins like crazy haha

Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I’ve created a beautiful story, but I didn’t fully understand how to share it with you all. I thought it might be helpful to update the current chapters from another POV. If you think differently, please let me know, as I’m starting to rewrite them again. Thank you for your understanding!"
