Let me break down the conflict layers in these chapters because they're stacked higher than most novels manage in an entire arc. Layer 1: The external workplace conflict. Yu Sibai just told his boss he'll hand in his resignation with N+1 severance if pushed. He's the top performer but he's being systematically undermined — no meeting notices, fees used as leverage, the Design Director position being hoarded for a crony. The stakes are literal survival: can he keep his job, or will he be forced out? And if a new boss arrives, will he be an ally or another threat? Layer 2: The secret identity conflict. Yu Sibai is Respit2, a popular streamer who analyzes games and supports his friend pupu. If his workplace discovers this — especially the fact that he stayed up late gaming instead of working overtime — it could cost him everything. The text literally has colleagues whispering about his "killing intent" and assuming he's just another overworked employee. The irony is painful: they see a cold workaholic, not a passionate gamer who just wants to celebrate his friend's victory. Layer 3: The romantic tension conflict. Ji Wenze appears with a face 70% like Yu Sibai's idol Execut2 (Card God). Is this coincidence? Is it fate? Is Ji Wenze aware of Yu Sibai's fandom? The power imbalance is enormous — he's the new general manager and Yu Sibai is his subordinate. But there's also the possibility that Ji Wenze knows something about the gaming world that could bridge their two separate lives. Every interaction between them is charged with unspoken questions. Layer 4: The friendship stakes. Pupu publicly promised to give Respit2 a chance to confess his love for Card God at the championship event. This is a ticking bomb — at some point, these worlds collide, and Yu Sibai's carefully separated identities will be forced together. What happens when his boss IS Card God? What happens when his secret streamer identity becomes public knowledge at work? The author is playing 4D chess with these conflicts and I am absolutely here for it. The suspense isn't just "what will happen next" — it's "when will all these separate threads snap together and what will the explosion look like?"
I need to talk about the wound care scene because it is THE most intimate moment in this entire passage and neither character seems to realize how intimate it is. Qingqing is cleaning his back, applying ointment with her fingertips, and Lin Heng is just sitting there experiencing this weird mix of physical sensation and emotional vulnerability. The text says 'She wasn't afraid of it. If it had been another woman… She probably would've burst into tears at the sight.' This is huge. His back is scarred from whatever torture or punishment he endured, and she looks at it with zero fear or disgust. That's not just physical intimacy—that's emotional acceptance. And then there's the part where she reads his mind almost: 'Is it itchy? Don't scratch it with your hands. It finally managed to scab over.' How does she always know what he's thinking? The author keeps building these moments where their emotional connection deepens without a single romantic confession. Even the apricot scene hits different—she runs home excited to share sweet fruit with him, and his reaction is just 'the corners of his lips unconsciously lifted into a faint smile.' That's it. That's the whole romance. A man who has endured a lifetime of violence and control learning that he can smile around someone without consequence. And Qingqing's moment where she touches her stomach and wonders 'if that one time was enough for me to get pregnant'—that's not just a throwaway line, that's her heart laid bare. She's already imagining a family with this broken man she picked up off the street.
i like the story , it's really interesting but i think you can develop more Akira
This is really good, I went in thinking the Invulnerability was overstated as they usually do in Chinese novels, but no, guy is truly invulnerable, like, without limit, no matter the rank difference, you can't do shit to this guy. And the MC really cares about looking badass, I love it. Halberds are the best. I also like that he is not a transmigrator, that means he is just a teenager with invulnerability, and it works.
This is a very well-written story. It starts slow but never breaks my immersion in the first chapters, which led me to read until C13. I'll be back later for the fluff Ezra and Oberyn bring ;) Keep up the great work, Author (*u*)/
The story is getting better and better. The story plots is quite interesting and fulfilling. The Male Lead character should be more strong and interesting. The Female Lead character is okay but a bit unreasonable. I am looking towards the improvement of the story line and characters building.
coool writing style, I like the way the female lead interacts in the Past. A lost gen z in the year 18's ?
Amazing ?? and interesting highly recommend

I really like the story, but the updating stability is so poor with some grammar mistakes.Btw, enjoyed the character of zain so far, poor guy
I love this book and I do not say that very often. This writer has amazing control over world building, character development, and the romance is nice and believable. I cannot say that for many on this platform and needless to say, this book was a breathe of fresh air. 5 stars and I highly recommend anyone to read this.
I like the dark tone, and how Mc has a sense of responsibility? although he seems to forget his parents too fast. You can work on the first chapter, somethings are hard to follow
