Narcisstic
I need to talk about Mo Xiang because THIS WOMAN. She's sitting there in the carriage being all sweet to Qingqing, promising her freedom, saying she'd even let her become the Heir's woman if she wanted. And I'm sitting here like—do you know what you're going to do to this girl in twelve chapters? The tragedy is that Mo Xiang genuinely believes she's being kind. She's not a cartoon villain cackling away. She's a woman who grew up unloved, unwanted, fighting for every scrap of recognition in a family that sees her as disposable. And Qingqing is the only person who's ever been loyal to her. That's why the betrayal cuts so deep later—it's not just political, it's personal. "Qing is always the thoughtful one." Mo Xiang smiled warmly. "Thank you, Qingqing. If everything succeeds and I marry into Ding'an Marquis Manor, you may ask me for anything you want." I literally had to pause and stare at the wall after reading that. The dramatic irony is absolutely brutal. Qingqing's internal monologue while Mo Xiang is being sweet is just... chef's kiss. The contrast between Mo Xiang's genuine warmth and Qingqing's cold calculation is what makes their relationship so compelling. It's not a simple master-servant dynamic anymore—it's become this twisted codependency where Qingqing needs Mo Xiang to succeed so she can escape, and Mo Xiang needs Qingqing's loyalty so she can climb higher. They're both using each other, but one of them doesn't know it yet.
These chapters are a masterclass in controlled chaos and then devastating quiet. The first half moves at a breakneck pace — battle after battle, retreats and counter-retreats, characters getting hurt, formations breaking. The author doesn't let you catch your breath. Wan Yong's group gets pressured, Shi Jin goes down, they retreat, the monsters turn on Feng Moxi's group, the Golden Retriever locks onto her like a missile. It's exhausting to read and I couldn't stop. Then — the deal. She runs. The chase sequence through the residential district is pure kinetic energy. Two figures racing across ruins at unbelievable speed, monsters parting around them like water. Chaoyang trying to follow and getting blocked. The author even gives us his reaction: "Tch. That girl's got legs like the wind. She runs way too fast." A moment of levity in the middle of pure adrenaline. And then she reaches the clearing. The monsters rush. She pulls out the broken sword. The fight with the Golden Retriever is fast, brutal, and over quicker than you'd expect. One claw severed, the beast flees, one strike to the head, it's done. The author doesn't linger on the victory — she deals with the remaining monsters, climbs the building, finds the apartment, and then... stops. This is where the pacing does something brilliant. The entire chapter sequence has been building tension through action, and then it just... exhales. The apartment is empty except for dust and spoiled food. She collects supplies. She moves to another building. She hears breathing. She pushes open a bedroom door. And the chapter ends on two corpses and a silence so heavy it feels like the story itself is holding its breath. The transition from the noisy, bloody street battle to that deathly quiet apartment is one of the most effective pacing moves I've read. It's the narrative equivalent of a scream that cuts off mid-note.
This novel has the perfect balance of action, romance, and mystery! I’m hookedThe chemistry between the characters is insane! And the action scenes? Absolute fire
Great character development..Interesting characters..The mc has a good sense of humour ???
"One of the best novels I have ever seen. The world-building and characters are absolutely perfect. It may seem similar to many other novels, but the author has clearly left their mark as the chapters progress. I just hope they maintain a stable release schedule."
It’s good just upload more chapters ……….
Well, Google translation with editing, English language from the series,? so the novel’s grade is lowered a little?. I try as much as possible to amend it after translation. If you happen to find an error,? please inform me and I will try to amend it. If the novel is good and I can make money from it?, I will have a professional translator do the translation?. Finally, I want to say, with your support, I gain confidence in producing a better story.❤️
it's pretty good but i think u should add more things to the background. the characters are cool and u are keeping to their design and personalities, but after the mansion incident it seems like u stopped describing the world around the main character and u seem to only focus on the new characters .i am honestly surprised this is ur first work since it's so good . i believe that If u keep this up u can be a great writer in the future
Nice novel? I would recommend it to fantasy lovers?
