I need to be honest with you — domestic family drama with a System is NOT usually my thing. I pick up these novels expecting epic battles and cultivation breakthroughs, and instead I get... teaching people to write their names? But somehow, some way, the pacing is SO GOOD that I forgot I was supposed to be bored. Here's what the author does brilliantly: every chapter ends with a hook that makes you immediately want the next one. Chapter 5 ends with Tang Li figuring out she can go to a girls' school too. Chapter 6 ends with Tang Xun completing the name-writing task and getting rewarded. It's not dramatic cliffhangers, but they're satisfying little completions that give you that dopamine hit. You finish one task, you're already waiting for the next one. The scene transitions are smooth too. We go from the ox cart ride home → teaching scenes → the chicken dinner → school enrollment → back to more teaching. It flows like a real day in the life, but compressed and purposeful. No dragging, no filler. Even the exposition about girls' schools and the family's financial situation is woven into Tang Li's internal monologue naturally, not dumped on us. What really controls the tension is the silver. Every task has a monetary reward, and Tang Xun is constantly calculating how much he'll earn. This creates a running tally in the reader's mind — how much silver does he need? What's the next task? When will he reach his goal? It's a simple mechanism but it works because it's constant background tension. The only slight pacing issue I noticed is that the teaching scenes could've been tightened — we see him teach his daughter, then his wife, then his mother, then his son. Four similar beats in a row. But the author varies each one enough (the daughter's manipulation, the mother's pride, the son's frustration) that it doesn't feel repetitive. Just barely.
I need to talk about Ling Yixi because this guy just quietly became my favorite. While everyone else at that kindergarten was either brawling or scheming, he walks in and his first concern is literally just his little cousin. Teacher Han is over there trying to subtly hint that Xiao Ling Bao shouldn't have exposed Pearl, basically saying 'why couldn't you let this blow over?' and Ling Yixi's response is absolutely legendary. He basically says: is Pearl the only one allowed to do bad things? Does the Wang family think they ARE the law? And then he looks at the kid and says 'well done, keep it up, your uncle has your back.' That's it. That's the moment. He didn't give a speech, he didn't make a grand gesture, he just... validated the kid and protected them. Meanwhile, look at the Wang family dynamics. Old Madam Wang calling Little Mud a 'jinx' and a 'broom star'—this is a family that has decided this child is a curse, and nothing will change their mind. Pearl can do no wrong, Little Mud can do no right. And Pearl herself? She's already being groomed to be a social weapon. Her mom is literally planning for her to befriend a minister's daughter to help drive Little Mud away. This kid is being raised to be a tool, and she doesn't even understand it yet. The contrast between how Ling Yixi treats Little Mud and how the Wang family treats her is everything.
The novel just got the chapter 10 after less than a week, was here since the start and what I can say is that the first 2 chapters was not the most interesting ones at all, its getting better every single chapter so give it a try.

Having a lot of fun with this one, did not expect this to be an actually good one! So hard to find fun stories on Webnovel without it going overboard and insanely perverted. I can see a story that really wants to tell you something good. Passion in the making while keeping updated in the trends. I am hope more will look at this as it is peak storytelling~
