This chapter is absolutely LOADED with symbolic elements and I want to unpack at least a few of them. The diamond VIP card. Su Yue brandishing it like a weapon—it's not just a membership card, is it? It represents everything she's gained through her marriage: status, power, the ability to exclude and control. But it's hollow. The card can blacklist Wen Qingli from a shop, but it can't buy her a real place in this family. And the fact that Wen Mingyuan's affection for Su Yue is what gives her this power? That's the whole tragedy right there. Love as currency, love as weapon. Then there's the fake pregnancy. Su Yue's announcement that she's carrying a boy—this isn't just a plot device, it's the ultimate symbol of what the Wen family values. Her father and grandmother have always wanted a son to carry on the lineage. Su Yue's pregnancy represents the fulfillment of their patriarchal desires, even though it's built on a lie. And Wen Qingli's reaction—her heart aching with sympathy for her mother—connects this to the larger theme of women being valued only for what they can produce. The coat. Both Bai Chuxue AND Wen Qingli bought the same coat for Lu Zheng. Two women, one gift, completely different motivations. Wen Qingli's coat is an act of wifely duty and quiet devotion; Bai Chuxue's is... well, we'll see. The coat becomes this silent battleground. And the school anniversary itself—returning to the past, confronting old ghosts, the girl who was called "Little Chubby Pig" now glowing in a moonlight-white gown. Transformation as theme.
This story has a lot of potential. Hope mc pursues power and eternal life
This is a fantastic story with some flaws. It has something I enjoy a character that's does what he wants when he wants. But the flaws I cannot picture him in my mind and I notice some Korean tendencies. I feel this story has immense potential.
It's so nice to read something that feels real and yet is in a fantasy world. The allegories are amazing, it really reminded me of "The Lord of the Rings" the author's probable reference. I liked the characters. I enjoyed the world of BACU and am looking forward to discovering the wanderer's quest. Congratulations on the work, it made my month better and the expectation for the next chapters makes me anxious, but excited. Please don't screw it up.
Honestly the best book I've ever read in my entire life
I devoured 'The Immortal That Wants to Die' in one sitting, and I'm still reeling from the experience. This novel masterfully explores the complexities of immortality, delving into themes of existentialism, morality, and the human condition. The author's writing is evocative and immersive, with a narrative that's both poignant and thought-provoking. I highly recommend this novel to anyone looking for a compelling and introspective read.
A fantastic novel. I find it quite funny.
All I can say to the author, is that this one is really Good. Lumydee has really improved over the years! This is my 2nd Favorite of His books.
I really liked it, hoping it continues like this and the quality doesn't decline..............................................................
I love this novel! It's literally like, a really unique take on system's and reincarnation because I swear I haven't seen a God obsessed psycho and extreme fanatic who's doing everything to an extreme degree. I suppose that is what makes his character interesting :))
Yoooo, this book is fire man, got me hooked on the first chapter. I already hate the Uncle, I am gonna be so happy when the MC kills that MoFo, he needs to torture him Wu-Tang clan style!
Friend recommended this book in our book group chat. I love it so far. Not enough chapters yet. hopefully Author will drop some soon. i stopped reading when things got good cause i want more chapters. hate being left on cliff hangers. so looking forward to reading more once there’s more chapters.
