This novel is表面上 about a guy with a System getting rich, but if you actually pay attention, it's quietly tackling some really interesting themes about family, birth order, and what we owe to each other. The chicken leg scene is the most thematically dense moment in this entire batch, and I think the author knows it. Tang Xun snatching his son's drumstick isn't just comedic — it's a direct confrontation with the eldest-child burden that defined Tang Xun's own childhood. Remember what the text says? "Growing up as the eldest, he was often told that he had to give way to his younger siblings and take care of them. Back then, he often felt resentful — why should the eldest always be at the disadvantage?" He's repeating the cycle he resented, but also breaking it. By eating the chicken himself and telling Gouwa "if you behave, Dad will buy you big chicken legs in the future," he's offering something different from what he received. It's conditional love with clear boundaries, not endless sacrifice expected of the firstborn. And then there's the names. The entire task of teaching the family to write their names is deeply symbolic. In this historical setting, not being able to write your own name is a form of erasure — you're invisible to the system, you can't participate fully in society. Tang Xun telling his mother "our family will surely become an official household in the future. You must know at least a little" is him projecting a future where literacy equals status and power. The name "Tang Tian" for Gouwa — meaning upright and honorable — is also significant. It's the father claiming the right to shape his children's identities, something Tang Xun himself was denied. The recurring motif of silver as reward ties into all of this too. Money isn't just money — it's freedom, it's choice, it's the ability to send your daughter to school when your mother would've let her stay home. Every tael of silver is a small rebellion against the constraints of their world.
Author here to try and leave a review of my own book and trying not to cringe :/And if you disagree with any of the glazing I do here, feel free to voice your own opinion I'm dying to know what think! This story follows Rhys as he searches for the Benefactor, a mysterious man who pulled him away from street life. His search leads him to a futuristic cyberpunk metropolis, where he is the one thrown into an adventure he could have never imaginedFrom the very first page, this story grabs you and doesn’t let go. You’re pulled into a harsh, unforgiving world where every character seems to have their own agenda, each one playing a dangerous game. The fight scenes are intense — raw, explosive, and vividly choreographed — yet they never overshadow the quieter moments of betrayal, ambition, and silent heartache simmering beneath the surface. What truly sets this story apart is how seamlessly it balances high-stakes action with deeply personal struggles. It’s not just about physical battles — it’s about battles of will. Every character feels like they’re standing on the edge of something — whether it’s revenge, redemption, or ruin — and you can’t help but get caught up in their fates. If you're looking for a story that’s as much about the wars within as it is about the conflicts outside, set in a world that feels darkly magical yet strikingly real, this is the one. Trust me — once you start, you won’t want to stop.

An awesome and interesting read so far with some new explored ways of writing it!It's great if you're into reading an Apocalypse novel!
The story is very intriguing, with all sorts of elements interweaved into it. It leans more on the dark side and has room for even more development, but it's a good read, which is full of thrill, mystery and more. Great story, keep writing!?
