I'm still not over the scissors scene. I keep replaying it in my head and I just—how does an author make you feel so much tension from a girl cutting her own hair? Let me walk through it. She's lying in bed, curled into a ball, thinking about how 'the palace devoured people.' She's terrified. She's been sold time and again, barely surviving. And then something shifts. 'Perhaps because her life was at stake, Zhe Junwu now felt a strong urge to save herself.' This is the moment. This is the emotional turning point of the entire chapter. She doesn't run away. She doesn't cry. She takes a pair of scissors and cuts her own hair. 'On the table was also a blurry bronze mirror. Zhe Junwu let down her hair and slowly cut herself a heavy, straight-across fringe that covered half her face.' The word 'slowly' kills me. This isn't a panicked act—this is deliberate. This is a girl looking at her reflection and making a choice about who she wants to be in this world. 'Now, no matter how beautiful her face was, half of it was hidden. This way, she could neither be considered ugly nor beautiful.' She's not trying to be ugly. She's trying to be invisible. There's a heartbreaking pragmatism to it. And the Crown Prince's reaction? He's 'quite satisfied with Zhe Junwu as she was now.' Her hair covered half her face—with only 'a pair of honest, clear eyes visible, which he found pleasing to look at.' The fact that he finds her MORE appealing after she mutilates her own appearance to survive... that's not romance, that's something darker and more complicated. It's power. It's control. It's a girl making herself smaller so a man will let her live. I keep thinking about Maomao too. That parrot, who was so proud and strutting, now 'hung its head, its little body trembling.' Even the bird is scared. Everything in this story is trembling. But Zhe Junwu—she found her voice in that moment, even if she had to hide her face to do it.
This looks like a great story, the story is also very interesting, steampunk, magic of the four seasons, really impressive and unforgettable, I hope it can be updated soon, and keep the update stable, I will be your fan
Its Author San here. I hope you're all doing well. The novel is a work in progress and I will edit a lot of things individually so expect there to be some, actually a lot of different changes. I hope you love the novel enough to add the book to your library and write reviews. In the end, I just want to have fun alongside you guys while writing. I am a college student, so I might not upload immediately, but I will write about 1 chapter a day for as long as I have my creative juices flowing.

It was a fantastic start that immediately captured my attention, pulling me in with its intriguing premise and engaging writing. The story shows great potential, with the ability to reach even greater heights as it progresses. The novel itself is captivating and well-crafted, and I believe it has all the right elements to become something truly remarkable.
