Okay, so let me just say this upfront: I've read a ton of rebirth novels and most of them are basically the same formula with minor variations. But this one? This one actually had me hooked from the first paragraph. The opening is brutal—Mu Anran dying pregnant, betrayed by the man she raised to the throne, watching the man she actually loved die in her arms. That's not just setup, that's emotional devastation packed into a few chapters. What I love about the plot structure is how efficiently it works. Chapter 1 gives us the full tragedy—betrayal, death, the soul's desperate bargain. Chapter 2 reveals the backstory (the lost memories, the manipulation by Xuan Yuan Haoyu) and then immediately pivots to the rebirth moment. And Chapter 3? She runs toward Beichen instead of away. That single reversal of her previous life's action is such a clean, powerful plot beat. The pacing is relentless. There's no filler between the death and the rebirth—the memory recovery happens mid-soul, right as she's watching Beichen get shot with arrows. It's almost too efficient, but it works because the emotional stakes are already so high. I didn't need more setup; I needed to know what happens next, and the author delivers. One thing that struck me: the subplot of Xuan Yuan Haoyu's manipulation is revealed through Mu Anran's recovered memories rather than exposition dumps. She remembers being twelve, losing her mother, studying medicine and martial arts under Tianyigu's master, falling off a cliff, losing her memory, and then being deceived. All of that backstory comes through her own recollection, which makes it feel earned rather than info-dumped. The wedding scene at the end of Chapter 3 is where the plot really snaps into motion. She kicks the guy who helped her flee last time, uses her lightness skill to soar over the crowd, and sprints toward Taizi Fu. The line 'Xuan Yuan Beichen, wait for me, I'm coming to marry you!' gave me actual chills. The plot has flipped completely—she's no longer the naive girl who ran away, she's a woman who's seen hell and is running toward the one person who mattered. I'm curious about what happens when she actually reaches Beichen. He's sitting in a wheelchair, dressed in wedding clothes, expecting her to flee again. The tension of that moment—the gap between his expectations and her actions—is going to be incredible. Also, what about her martial arts skills? She learned them from Tianyigu's master, and they came back with her rebirth. That's a tool she can use now that she didn't have before. The plot is setting up a very different kind of revenge story than the typical 'I'll just outsmart everyone' narrative. Overall, the plot is tight, the reversal is satisfying, and the stakes are clear from page one. This isn't just another rebirth novel—it's a story about a woman who gets a second chance and is absolutely going to make the most of it.
There's a symbol in this text that I can't stop thinking about: the Longfeng Chengxiang jade pendant. In the previous life, it was Ye Qingyu's ticket to power. Blood activated it. It gave her a portable space. It was the key that unlocked everything Ye Qingyu needed to overthrow the dynasty. But in this life, Xia Xing'er claims it first. Her blood. Her space. And what do we get? The space is LARGER. The stream is a river. The soil is a hundred acres instead of a dozen. The pavilion is a palace. This isn't just a power-up—it's a statement. The universe itself recognizes that THIS is the rightful owner. The portable space is more than a cheat item. It represents agency. In a world where every woman around her is being used as a political pawn—Lin Wanqing forced to abandon her love, Xia Xing'er being married off as part of a trap, the daughters-in-law offered as sacrifices—Xia Xing'er has something nobody can take from her. A world of her own. Food that never spoils because time stands still. Talismans that can make her invisible, loyal, or teleport her anywhere. This is the ultimate rebellion against a system that treats women as objects to be traded. And the water—'drink regularly and it strengthens the body, expels impurities, heals injuries.' This is subtle but important. The space doesn't just give her weapons; it gives her the means to SUSTAIN her family through exile. The theme here is clear: preparation is power, and knowledge from a past life is the ultimate advantage. The emperor thinks he's controlling everyone through marriage decrees and treason charges. But he has no idea what Xia Xing'er carries in her soul.
This chapter is a masterclass in emotional pacing. It opens at rock bottom — doctor shaking his head, leg can't be saved, body is depleted. The Village Chief's sigh alone carries the weight of a hundred hopeless situations. You can feel the cold draft coming through that dilapidated cottage just from the description. Then Su Wanwan flips the script. She doesn't crumble. She doesn't weep. She hands over three taels and says "write the prescription." That's the pivot point — the moment the chapter shifts from tragedy to determination. And the author doesn't rush it. We get the doctor's warning about cost, the Village Chief's hesitation, Su Wanwan's firm response. Each beat lands before we move to the next. The pawnshop scene is where the pacing really shines. It could have been a quick transaction — she walks in, sells the jade, walks out. But no, we get the clerk's dismissive attitude, the shopkeeper's appraisal, the back-and-forth negotiation. Ten taels. Eleven. Twenty. Thirty. Each number is a small victory, and by the time she's holding those silver notes, we're feeling that relief alongside her. Then it slows down again for the cooking scenes — steamed egg, meatball soup, five small meals. This is deliberate. After the tension of bargaining, we need to breathe. We need to see her tenderness in action. The well-chilled meat, the minced pork, the sesame oil drizzle. These details ground the story in physical reality. And then — Mu Chen appears. Chapter ends. Perfect cliffhanger placement. I was not ready for that.
Solid story so far, a few laughs, and great editing. I would recommend giving this one a shot. No idea of what kind of adventure we'll get in the long run, but I think we'll have an enjoyable time getting there. I don't know if it will end up in your library, but I know it's in mine.
Absolutely suspenseful storyline. It makes you feel curious about the next chapter creating an urge to read more. I love this. One of the best light novels i have ever read. props to the creator.
Absolutely loved it! Sollivan is such a patient and well-crafted protagonist, with promising potential for story development. I felt the story is bit draggy at first but the plot picked up pace and blended beautifully. Do consider keeping the chapters a bit shorter to maintain momentum.Keep going?
please update a new chapter soon it's already 4 days
This is an amazing novel, surely this will capture our attention
Hey guys, I am the author of... Harem, Dragons, and Deities, or HDXD lol. Originally, I used to write fanfic, but now I want to take my shot at my own original work, while adding my own layer of creativity to clichés.Well, I love good romance, just as I love good action and fantasy. If you like kingdom building mixed with a supernatural fantasy world with supernatural elements, this is for you. But that aside, please leave a review to support the book and drop your power stones. Feedback for reviews would be nice.
An interesting book. Also amusing at times. Really funny. The only problem I have is that the author has only updated one chapter. HEAR ME AUTHOR, I NEED MORE CHAPTERS!!!!?
This novel is nothing new, there are many of this type now... The MC transmigrates into the body of an extra hated by the family and must deal with all the difficulties that come with it. The period in which this "abuse" occurs is not long (35 chapters more or less) and not too hard so it is easily overcome... The quality of writing is simple but effective and the characters, despite not having who knows what past, are well characterized and appear "alive". This means that if the novel had no defects or at least they were few, reading would be pleasant and captivating for the most part but unfortunately this is not the case and most of the time the reader is left wondering: why? I don't want to touch on the subject of revenge or how or with whom he will want to take it since it is still in progress and I won't even comment on the dense isekai protagonist trait that he has even after being stabbed in the back (I had taken some privileged chapters to see the reaction at least to that: disappointment) ... However the biggest problem of the novel is the MC chained by having to necessarily be on par with the others since he never uses his brain or his power in order not to make him OP...Let me explain:-The MC from the first to the last fight practically uses only the sword ... is he sword god ? No and he is not even talented. His bloodline would allow him to create an ideal "character" by sacrificing traits of his ego and in addition he would become stronger at a disproportionate rate ... Does he do it? Only once in a desperate situation and sacrificing the first things that came to mind ... It would be enough to sit down and understand everything he can sacrifice without substantially affecting his person to make himself stronger but in 8 years he hasn't done it, ever ;-His bloodline always allows him to learn the skills of the monsters he kills but even after 2 years of C-rank portals he doesn't learn any of them or at least he doesn't use them as if this trait (OP) was forgotten;-He having knowledge of the novel could learn and use the darkness element but in 8 years it is not even mentioned after introducing it at the beginning as a way to become stronger quickly;-His magic never used and we don't even know how many and which affinities he has unlocked since he should have had as many as possible to absorb monsters of different elements;-Finally his summoning ability that is not used when he could only attribute it to his bloodline ...The exam chapters are damn frustrating to read... seeing a potentially OP MC having to fight because he doesn't use any of his traits and in the end even betrayed without reaction... All this leaves only a bitter taste, what a shame.
