Okay so let me just say this right now — the moment Liu Yun locks eyes with Crown Prince Xiao Heng on that horse? I literally gasped out loud. Like, the entire setup of Chapter 1 is this gorgeous, peaceful spring outing day, right? Dew on apricot blossoms, maids giggling, Liu Yun picking out her hairpin. It's all soft and warm and you think, okay, this is a cozy slice-of-life story. And then — BAM — a black horse lunges into her视野 and this guy looks at her like she's nothing. "Those were eyes that radiated control and aggression." The author doesn't even try to hide it. This isn't a meet-cute, this is a collision. And the structure here is so smart. The Crown Prince's procession stops, lets all the ladies go first, and Liu Yun — who literally says she most fears people with sharp, piercing personalities — decides to be bold and ride ahead. Of COURSE she does. That's such a human choice. She's terrified but she still moves forward. Then right as she's at the city gate, galloping horses appear and... well, we know what happens. The plot doesn't rush into drama, it lets you breathe first. You feel Liu Yun's world — her mother's lychee drink, her father spending eight hundred guan on a house, her friendship with Zhenzhen — and THEN it cracks open. That's how you build tension. Not by throwing conflict at page one, but by making us care about what's about to be disrupted.
Okay, I need to talk about this one moment because it completely shifted how I see their dynamic. When Zhou Dang is squatting in front of the fridge in his WR jersey, looking like a mess, and Shu Jia finds him—this is the first time we really see him unguarded. And his response to her coaxing? He doesn't just take the medicine. He takes HER hand, looks her dead in the eyes, and says 'You make it for me.' That is such a Zhou Dang thing to do. He can't just accept care directly—too vulnerable, too soft—but he'll redirect it so she's the one doing the work. It's like he's saying 'I'll let you take care of me, but on my terms.' And Shu Jia? She just melts. Ears burning, stuttering, saying okay. Then later when Aaron walks in and Zhou Dang literally takes the thermometer into his mouth like 'I'm doing this now, also I want oranges'—he's performing compliance for an audience, but the performance is real. He DOES want the oranges. He DOES let her sit beside him and peel them. The fact that he closed his game interface the second she entered the room without even thinking about it? That's not indifference. That's priority. And the yellow paper box? 'Are you a little slow?' Two days after the base visit, he hands her this and then the team leaves for Suzhou and she has NO IDEA what it means. Classic Zhou Dang—expressing something huge through three words on a tissue box while pretending it's nothing. Meanwhile she's over here losing her mind.
I've been thinking about this chapter a lot since I finished it, and the symbolism around food and water is just... layered. Let me unpack this. Food is literally the battlefield between the sisters. Meng Yu's entire existence revolves around being fed—she hasn't eaten since morning, she demands food immediately, she uses studying as an excuse to avoid helping. Meanwhile, Meng Yao controls the food. She decides when it's ready, what's on the table, who gets the scrambled eggs. The moment she stops serving Meng Yu is the moment the power dynamic flips. This isn't just sibling rivalry; it's about who holds the means of survival in this household. And then there's the Spirit Spring Water. Meng Yao deliberately pours it into the tea kettle her parents use—not to poison anyone, but to heal them. The parents come back from the fields "full of energy" and Zhao Meilan says she feels like she's "getting younger by the day." This water represents Meng Yao's secret power, her rebirth advantage, and her genuine love for her family. She's using her supernatural gift to care for the people who actually care about her, while Meng Yu—who has no such gift—can only take. The contrast is almost biblical. The older sister who serves and heals versus the younger sister who demands and consumes. And the fact that their parents are finally starting to see this? That's the real transformation happening—not just in Meng Yao, but in the entire family structure. Also, the vegetables growing at visible speed in the Space? That's not just a plot device for wealth. It's a symbol of what happens when you give someone the tools and the love they deserve. Everything flourishes under Meng Yao's care.
Okay, I need to talk about Gu Jiayan because I am actually FUMING. This guy is the definition of a toxic sibling and I love to hate him. The moment he grabbed Gu An'an by the throat and slammed her against the wall? I literally gasped. He didn't even hesitate — one second he's seeing Gu Wanrou on the stairs, the next he's trying to suffocate his own biological sister. And the dialogue? "I will never acknowledge having a sister like you." CHILL, BRO. She's your blood. She's a girl. You just choked her for something you didn't even see happen. But here's what really got me — the contrast. The exact same man who was choking Gu An'an seconds earlier is suddenly "so flustеred he didn't even know where to put his hands" when he reaches Gu Wanrou. The text literally says: "a far cry from the fierce demeanor he had shown toward Gu An'an just moments earlier." That shift is so jarring it made my skin crawl. And Gu Wanrou? She PLANNED this. She planned for him to appear at that exact moment. She's not just a scheming fake daughter — she's a tactical genius when it comes to manipulating people's emotions. The worst part is Gu Wanrou's performance when she's "pleading" for Gu An'an. She's literally fueling the fire while pretending to put out flames. "Big brother, don't do this" — while her eyes are probably dancing with victory. And Gu Jiayan falls for it EVERY TIME. He can't even look at Gu An'an without pure disgust in his eyes. I keep thinking about Gu An'an standing up there, watching all of this, knowing she has the camera footage but having to play the victim anyway. That must be so isolating — being surrounded by people who hate you, having proof but having to bide your time. The loneliness of it hit me hard. She's literally alone in her own family, and that's genuinely heartbreaking even if I'm also screaming at her to just RELEASE THE FOOTAGE ALREADY. The CP energy with Lu Xiao is still barely simmering — he showed up beside Gu Wencheng and the text says his presence "seemed to subtly overshadow the latter." Oho. I'm here for it. But right now my emotional energy is 90% rage at Gu Jiayan and 10% protective over Gu An'an.
Th book is good, and everything so far is well executed. it could do with some more worldbuilding but despite that, it's a good read, especially for the romance and fantasy-romance readers
Time for the Author's Shameless 5 star review. Overall, for this story you can expect lots of action-packed chapters, with an expansive world, and a shameless MC.This is the first novel I've ever written so feedback would always be appreciated. If you like mythology, fantasy, and comedic stories I really think you should give this one a try. It adds a unique twist to the classic reincarnation plot and the MC has some unique powers which set him apart.I'm still on the fence about whether I wanna add a harem to the story. There definitely will be Romance as I think it's important for the MC to have someone they can rely on and depend on when things get tough and that's what I want to create for the love interests. I do think that if I add a harem it'll only be a maximum of 5 people and I don't think I'll go over that amount as I still want them to be fleshed-out characters and not people that will only appear in one arc and then don't get focused on again as the story progresses
Good plot and world background , unique writing style , i'm waiting for more chapters keep it up
next chapter please am so interested in the book
very good storytelling and I like listening to it

The suspense is killer! Maybe drop some subtle hints about the bigger mystery earlier on? It’ll make the reveals feel even more mind-blowing
