ELDERLICH01
This section of the novel is remarkable for how it shifts between three completely different atmospheres, and each one feels vividly realized. The park opening is pure sunlight and warmth. Qin Yi and Su Xiaowan walking hand in hand, her pointing out beauties and then pinching his ear, him complaining about public appearances while clearly loving every second of it. 'Honey, be gentle! We're in public, keep up appearances!' This scene paints a picture of a couple so comfortable with each other that they can be ridiculous in public without a care. The fact that Qin Zhiqiang and Xu Yijing watch from behind and 'quietly felt pleased' adds this extra layer — it's not just a couple's date, it's a family blessing captured in a single moment. Then we cut to the house, and the tone becomes almost theatrical. Xu Yijing producing a feather duster from nowhere like some kind of domestic warrior, the servants quietly stepping away like extras in a comedy, Butler Su feigning ignorance to answer a phone call outside. The living room becomes a battlefield and the bedroom becomes a sanctuary where Qin Yi lies 'utterly exhausted, sighing repeatedly while staring fixedly at the bedroom door.' The contrast between the open, public park and the confined, private house creates this nice sense of where Qin Yi belongs — somewhere between his wife's playful aggression and his mother-in-law's inexplicable violence. But the private club scene is where the atmosphere gets genuinely tense. The hostesses, the soft drinks instead of alcohol, the whispered conversations about billion-dollar projects. The ceiling of the private room becomes a character in itself — Qin Yi 'cautiously gesturing toward the ceiling' when talking about surveillance. Every surface in that room feels like it could be watching them. The shift from the warm domestic comedy to this cold, calculating environment is jarring in the best way, and it makes you feel the danger closing in.
Can we just appreciate how well-written the dialogue is in this book? Jiang Ran's voice is so distinct — he's casual, slightly sarcastic, but there's this underlying softness that only comes out around Xia Chu. Lines like 'I'll walk you home, classmate Xia Chu' have this perfect mix of teasing and genuine care. And then his reaction when she refuses to add him — 'Not adding~' with that tilde, mimicking her tone from the night before. The author clearly understands how teenage boys actually speak, especially this type of character who uses humor and deflection to mask his feelings. Lin Yuqing's dialogue is also great — he's the loud, chaotic friend who provides comic relief but also serves as a narrative device to comment on what's happening. 'Bro before hoes, man!' when Jiang Ran goes to sit with Xia Chu had me laughing out loud. Even the minor characters have recognizable voices — Hong Yue's sharp, clipped dialogue versus Xia Chu's soft, hesitant responses. The banter between Jiang Ran and his friends feels natural, like you're eavesdropping on an actual group chat.
Okay so let me just say the plot mechanics in these chapters are absolutely delicious. First, you have Wen Qing orchestrating this whole meeting with Shi Ruyi, and the reader is watching this chess game unfold. Wen Qing plays the vulnerable widow angle perfectly—covering her face with her sleeves, saying all the right things to make Shi Ruyi feel guilty. And then the immediate payoff: Wen Youan falling into the water before dinner even starts. It's so obviously staged that it's almost funny. The narrative is clearly telling us this was deliberate, but Wen Qing's internal monologue reveals she actually doesn't know WHY it happened. That gap between what the reader knows and what the characters know is classic dramatic irony and it works so well here. Then Chapter 10 hits us with the thief at dawn. Wen Youan climbing over the wall at first light because the guards wouldn't let him in at the main gate? That's either devotion or delusion, and honestly I can't tell which. But the real plot twist here is the emotional one—when he pulls out that embroidered purse and shows her his wounded hands, and Shi Ruyi starts remembering something from the past. The author is dropping breadcrumbs about a prior connection that neither the princess nor apparently the reader fully understands yet. And then there's the subplot with the carrier pigeon and the master's letter about willow branches. Who is this master? Why the coded language? The narrative is layering mysteries on top of political intrigue and I am HERE for it. The Third Princess faction subplot is also simmering underneath everything. Shi Ruyi literally has a map on her desk circling targets—Lin Yuan, Minister Lin, the daughter she neglected. This isn't just a romance plot, it's a political thriller wrapped in court drama, and the way the author weaves the romantic tension with the political maneuvering is genuinely impressive. Every scene does double duty.
This is an apocalypse novel in the next level. I love the plot and the characters i also love the interactions between her and her system ????????????????????
Guys currently my exams are going on so i ki8nda can’t focus but i will be taking your suggestions
Super Good . It brings me to tears just how much the author improves. He's other book is also good in terms of story telling but this one is on another level in terms of how clean and well written it is ???
Dear Author, I'm a big admirer of your writing! After reading your book, I was blown away by your talent. I have some ideas on how to take your book to the next level and expand its readership. Would you be willing to listen to my feedback and suggestions?
shameless self-review. read it!
The novel is enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the upcoming chapters, and I’m really curious to know whether the protagonist will truly be a villain as some expect, or if there will be a sudden shift in his character. How will his actions and relationships with other characters develop? It seems there are many surprises ahead!
Good story, the world where the story is presented is quite original and interesting. The grammar is good which makes reading much easier, as for the update frequency, the novel is updated very regularly, almost one chapter every two days.It has a rather strange beginning, let's say, but when you get used to reading the novel as a spectator and do not project yourself into it, it becomes quite an interesting read.
Great story really! Though I have a few major flaws to point out! First is plot development! It's too slow! Like super duper slow. Author created a very big world yet the story development is super slow! It would get boring as time goes by since nothing exciting comes up! I dont have that much patience to keep reading about irrelevant minor stuffs.Second is MC's personality. It's Childish! I mean if author wants to make it something funnier with this Childish MC then it's not working, Annoying even. Now for the good parts of the story!First is the uniqueness of the story! You can rarely see an NPC with Ice Magic! Or his dungeon is frozen themed! Always fire, undead, darkness, the usual edgy stuff! His main weapon isnt even a sword! Plus points with that! Second Grammar! There's no noticeable flaws in the writing! One of the many flaws that authors have and never even improve on it! But this! For a first novel you did well! Now! Although you have this good points, the flaws I listed will weigh more on why people stop reading, most people dont have that much of time to be patient.Goodluck!
nice work keep going I'll just reviewing it
