Hunger. It's everywhere in these chapters and it's not just about food. Emma is physically hungry—she's eaten dry bread for days, she scrapes every drop of sauce from her plate, she lies about being full because she's terrified of being a burden. Ben is hungry too, but his hunger is more complicated. He's starving for attention, for his brother to come home, for someone to notice he exists. Jolene understands this on a deep level because she's hungry in her own way—hungry for a second chance, for stability, for a family that isn't made of dogs and cats. The book rental scene is where this theme really clicks into place. Jolene doesn't just ask for a book; she proposes a contract. A business arrangement. She's treating Ben like an adult because that's the only language he seems to understand. And Ben, who's been treated like furniture by his own brother's schedule, gets to feel like a person who can set terms and make deals. The contract becomes a symbol of something bigger—it's about mutual respect, about two people who've been overlooked deciding to negotiate on equal ground. Even Giovanni matters here. He's the one who sees both kids eating and smiles. He represents the warmth that's missing from the Raymond household. Every meal in this story is a tiny act of rebellion against the neglect these children have endured. Food isn't just sustenance—it's love, it's care, it's proof that someone noticed you were hungry and did something about it.
Hello great author, I'm a huge fan of your work! Your book left a lasting impression on me, and I believe it has the potential to reach even more readers. I'd be honored to share some thoughts on how to enhance its impact and visibility. Would you be open to hearing my thoughts?
This story is an absolute blast! Instead of the usual hardworking cultivation protagonist, Han Yu scams, cheats, and talks his way to the top, leaving even the most powerful figures completely frustrated. The dialogue is sharp and hilarious, and his schemes are so ridiculous yet genius that you can’t help but root for him. The mix of classic cultivation elements with modern-style trickery makes every scene unpredictable and fun. If you love clever anti-heroes, witty banter, and a story where brains beat brawn in the most entertaining way possible, this is definitely a must-read!
Once again, here we go everyone. This is a selfish and shameless five star review from the Author. Even though it's my first time writing this kind of story, I'll try my best and hope that you feel it. If you have any thoughts, please make sure to add them in the comment section or simply write a review, expressing your true thoughts. With that, I wish you a good day, dear readers.
Hi, I like your word building author. It's easy to understand and of course, the choice of words. It is really better to use easy to understand terms. Gosh, this is excellency!
Is this the original plot of the story because the original story does not contain anyone's pov apart from Jay Jay. Chapter 261 till 275 is Jay Jays pov and here it is something else.
