Let me just be straight with you - I started reading Chapter 1 at 11 PM and it is now 2:47 AM and I have read seven chapters and I cannot stop. The author has this incredible ability to never let the narrative slow down, even during the quiet moments. Think about it: Chapter 1 opens with people dying, soldiers invading, the protagonist waking up in darkness with a concussion. By the end of that same chapter, she's learned about the transmigration, absorbed the original owner's memories, met her new family, escaped into the mountains, AND discovered her system. That is an insane amount of plot compressed into a single chapter, and somehow it never feels rushed. What's the secret? I think it's the scene transitions. The author moves from the cellar to the donkey cart to the forest camp without any jarring cuts. Each scene flows naturally into the next through dialogue and action. When Mei Qian asks about what happened while she was unconscious, her mother tells her - and that dialogue exposition replaces what could have been a clumsy flashback sequence. The pacing within individual scenes is also masterful. Look at the system introduction: it starts with Mei Qian accidentally touching the millet sack, the system activates, she yells, everyone looks at her, she makes an excuse, THEN she has the private conversation with the system. The false alarm of her yelling creates a mini-climax, and the real system reveal happens in the aftermath. That's how you structure a scene - build tension, release it, then deliver the goods. Chapter 2 shifts into a slightly different rhythm - more exposition, more system explanation - but the author keeps it engaging by making the system itself almost comically out of touch. The back-and-forth between Mei Qian and Xiao Mei about whether you can cook gourmet food while fleeing for your life had me laughing. It's exposition disguised as comedy, and it works perfectly. The structural choice to end Chapter 2 with the system painting a grand picture of future rewards is also smart. It gives us a hook - ten exchanges to unlock the storage space, more privileges after that. It's a mini cliffhanger that makes you want to keep going without being as dramatic as a chapter ending on a cliff literally. If I had one tiny critique, it would be that the middle section of Chapter 2 where the system explains all its features runs slightly long. But honestly, I was too invested to care. The author knows exactly when to pace things fast and when to slow down for world-building, and that instinct is rare.
Let me just say this upfront: the dialogue in this novel doesn't read like everyone's speaking the same voice. Each character has a distinct way of talking, and that's genuinely impressive. Ji Shan's dialogue is loud and unfiltered. 'That shameless son of a bitch Dou Shichang, why didn't he just die on the battlefield back then...' and 'I would have made the Dou family spit out every last piece of my pork!' This is a man who doesn't filter his thoughts through social decorum. He's angry, he's frustrated, and he's not going to pretend otherwise. The pork line is almost comedic in its specificity — it's such a vivid, character-revealing detail. Ji Jinyu's voice is different. She's more measured, more strategic. When she says 'I'll make them spit out everything they swallowed,' there's a coldness underneath the words that contrasts with her father's hot anger. She's calculating, not just reacting. Yu Huilan is the quiet observer who drops the most important information. 'And there's a chance it could trigger a plague' — said almost casually, but it changes everything. Her dialogue is sparse but weighted, which makes sense given her background as a physician's daughter. The narrative voice itself is interesting too. It's close third-person, staying mostly in Ji Jinyu's perspective, but it doesn't shy away from showing her internal state. When she recalls the plague scene from her past life, the narration becomes almost cinematic: 'The flames consumed those who were not yet dead, and the agonized screams seemed to echo in Ji Jinyu's ears once more.' That's not just dialogue — that's the author's voice stepping in to create atmosphere. One thing I appreciate: the dialogue doesn't over-explain. Characters don't monologue to fill in backstory. Information comes through naturally — like when Yu Huilan explains the plague risk by referencing her father's stories, or when Ji Jinyu reveals her dream without it feeling like an exposition dump. The banter between family members also feels authentic. The twins saying 'Us too!' in unison, Ji Yingcai's eager 'Yes, ma'am!' — these small moments of dialogue make the household feel lived-in.

Why should you guys try this story?『Smart Mc 、Smart side character also NPC、 Smart Girls 、No pervert. Always stand on business. Ruthless and Forgiveness both side、And yes Gender Equality for punishment ??』1. The author doesn’t waste time and consistently gives us chapters every week.2. He/She always explains everything unless it’s a #spoiler.3. This is a story about kingdom-building, but you should try it because our MC doesn’t need anything—he alone is 'The Cursed One' and also 'The unpredicted one'(proclaimed by me, not the author).4. The MC doesn’t waste time on unnecessary things like chit-chat or love interests (so far).5. Although I prefer not to have a harem, it’s the author’s choice, and I can’t stop them, so I have to respect their opinion.6. The naming is very easy. But I have to say, the author should create an auxiliary volume where they explain every character’s name and power, like other authors do.7. Although I prefer 2,000 words per chapter, it’s too early to say. But I think within one month, the author can adapt to writing more.8 . Hope Everyone should give it a try.
Love it so far.I wish the author would update it daily but I'm satisfied with the current update schedule.
