Okay so let me just say this plot move was absolutely brilliant. The author sets up this whole village gossip thread about Yu Banxia being a doctor — villagers are shocked, her family is proud, Zhao Boxian is revealed as her master — and then BAM, midnight emergency. Xu Yong's wife is in difficult labor, Doctor Zhao is drunk, and everyone's scrambling. The tension builds so naturally. You have this old neighbor who's basically the plot device that connects everything, telling Xu Yong to go to the Yu house. And then the real drama kicks in when Yu Banxia arrives and immediately gets blocked by skeptical women. The silver needle moment — she just SHOVES it into the woman's neck and says 'I'll remove it after I save the patient. You're too noisy' — CHILLS. Absolute chills. This is what I live for. The plot doesn't waste a single beat. She cracks open windows despite being told not to, she reads the pulse and diagnoses the abnormal position AND the umbilical cord issue before even looking at the patient, and then she performs the entire delivery herself. The pacing in this section is relentless. One moment you're at a warm family dinner, the next you're in a stuffy room at midnight with a woman dying in labor. And the resolution — healthy baby, grateful family, fifty coins for a life saved — it's satisfying without being cheesy. The author knows exactly when to speed up and when to slow down. I stayed up way too late reading this batch because I literally could not stop. What do you think about the way the plot uses the midnight emergency to validate Yu Banxia's skills in front of the whole village? I feel like this scene is going to come up again later.
I need to talk about Huo Shengbai because this chapter completely redefined him for me. On one hand, he's this incredibly tender figure - blowing on her arm, carrying her like a baby for two hours straight, practicing hair-combing tutorials. The detail about him using a hairstyle model and watching tutorial videos? That's not just sweet, that's obsessive devotion. But then you have the morning after, and he's this cold, icy presence that makes Huo Cheng feel like a mouse encountering a cat. The duality is fascinating. He's gentle with Wen Zhili but ruthless to everyone else. And the breakfast scene? He takes her seat deliberately, watches her try to avoid him, and just smiles. He knows exactly what he's doing. Meanwhile, Wen Zhili's relationship with him is evolving in real-time. She's embarrassed, flustered, calling him 'Uncle' but clearly caught in his web. The scene where she makes him tea to avoid sitting next to Huo Cheng, then deliberately sits away from Huo Shengbai 'in case he does something inappropriate' - she's terrified but also... intrigued? And Huo Cheng. Ugh. He's still stuck in the past life's toxicity, accusing her of playing games, not understanding that she's literally a different person now. His line about 'sleeping with a dog' is so past-life he is, and Wen Zhili's response - kicking him - is the most satisfying character moment. She's not the same woman who would have cried. She's evolved.
The dialogue between Su Luoyan and Fu Cheng Shen is genuinely good, and I don't say that lightly. It sounds like two people who know each other's rhythms, not like characters reciting exposition. Take this exchange: "My Yan Er has finally grown up and learned to make breakfast for her brother." "What do you mean 'finally grown up'? I've always been very sensible, okay?" "It is your fault." That's not written dialogue; that's heard dialogue. The back-and-forth has the natural cadence of a long-term couple. He teases, she deflects, he concedes, she insists. It's circular and comfortable. And the tie scene — "Yan Er, come help me with my tie." Just that. No elaboration, no romantic preamble. He asks, she does it. The dialogue here is almost entirely action-based, which is how real intimacy works. They don't need to say "I love you" when the entire conversation is about her looping a tie around his neck. The interview scene dialogue is sharper, more formal, which is exactly right. Her senior's recommendation, the receptionist's procedures, the professional distance. It creates a vocal contrast that reinforces the shift from personal to professional space. One line that stuck with me: "Nothing escapes you, Brother." Said while drying his hair. Three words that contain an entire history of them reading each other's tells.
I'm looking forward to the continuation of your story ?
The writer combined several ideas from several works to come up with this masterpiece. I envy any reader who has not started reading it yet to live that experience.good luck .
This book is a project I’m putting my all into—equal parts passion, chaos, and caffeine. I’m pouring everything into making this story and will try to deliver rich lore, compelling characters, and plenty of twists along the way. Writing isn’t always easy, but knowing people are reading and enjoying the story keeps me going. Your support, whether through follows or reviews, really helps and means a lot. I’ll keep doing my best to deliver a story worth your time.
Honestly, I wish i found this novel when it had more chapters. When's the Mass release going to happen?

Eclipsed by Fate is a must-read for fans of romance and drama. It’s a novel that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page, leaving you eager for more.
So everything is great about this story, it doesn’t get a 5 star because this has only like 15 chapters so far. But the authors other two works which I’ve read have been great. So I expect this to be great too. I don’t remember if we got any character design or description. But the illustrations have always been amazing so far, so im thinking this will be great too. The only thing I didn’t like was the bit about him having those dreams…things like that always annoy me…i canr deal with the whole suspense and wanting to know more, but if you’re one who likes to be on edge give it a shot.
