Let me just sit with this for a moment. A woman is dragged into an alley at night. A man with pockmarks and bad breath tries to assault her. She hits him with a brick. She runs. She goes to the police. And what does she find? Her HUSBAND there, accusing HER of causing trouble. The attacker's 'sister' playing victim. The police suggesting she should've called first instead of defending herself. And the suggestion — THE SUGGESTION — that she apologize to the man who tried to rape her. 'This matter hasn't been resolved yet. How do you prove that he was sexually assaulting you? You injured someone, that's a definite fact.' DEFINITE FACT. Like the injury is the only thing that matters. Like her word is worth nothing. Like a woman's testimony about an attempted assault in a dark alley is somehow insufficient. The stakes here are EVERYTHING. This isn't just a 'he said, she said' situation. This is a woman whose entire world has been telling her to be quiet, to be reasonable, to forgive. And now the SYSTEM — the police, her husband, the community — is telling her the same thing. The only person who actually believes her is a man she's met three times. And the tension? Oh, the tension is THICK. Because we KNOW what happens next. We know Luo Mingzhong isn't going to divorce her. We know Wen Ning is plotting murder. We know Fan Xiaojun has his own agenda (who IS this man, really?). Every conversation is a minefield. The most terrifying moment isn't the assault attempt — it's Luo Mingzhong saying 'We won't divorce, she's just throwing a tantrum.' He's not just refusing to believe her; he's REFUSING to see her as a real person with real feelings. To him, her trauma is a MOOD. Her anger is a TEMPERAMENT. Her pain is something to wait out. And yet — and YET — she walks out of that police station with her head high, her hand numb from slapping the man who's supposed to protect her, and she gets into a car driven by a stranger who actually sees her. That's not just a chapter ending. That's a REVOLUTION.

Dear Readers,Author supporting herself here!!Five Brutal Kings Needs You (Yes, You!)Welcome to the world of Five Brutal Kings, where wealth, power, and arrogance reign supreme…until fate decides to stir the pot. If you’ve made it this far, congratulations! You’ve survived the drama (for now). But trust me, things are only getting wilder from here. Now, let’s make a deal…if you’re enjoying the story, hit that power vote button like Clinton spends money (recklessly and without hesitation). Add it to your library, drop a review, and let’s keep the drama going! Your support isn’t just fuel for updates…it’s what keeps these kings from getting too comfortable.Much love,Favour
Very interesting book, keep it up author
Good work. I have to say, it’s a little bit too tragic but looking forward to more chapters.
The characters are alive. That's the only thing I can say in this book aside from a complex story that was written well. There are some sudden shifts in perspectives but it does not bother the reader at all. It's an innocent mistake from a newbie author. Keep it up author, you can do it!I feel like Aidan has a reason why he's bullying his twin brother, Lucian. The story is so intriguing and engaging that I forgot this is a work of fiction. I'll be waiting for the next updates.
Quick thoughts and ratings: 5 starsThis is my first time reviewing a novel, so please forgive me if there are any word mistakes. I've only read up to chapter 52 and so far, I like this novel. The story is rather unique by not incorporating the sometimes rather unreasonable system of giving rewards when completing a mission. The pacing of the story is steady. I like how the main character earns his money by working hard together with his friends. The way he earns money is not too forced.I highly recommend this novel. Good story concept and writing. Also a little refresh from the novel system that contains a lot of face slapping/karma/revenge story elements.
