Okay so let me just say this out loud because I need to process it: Xie Xingwen is NOT the same guy from the previous life. Like at all. In the past life he was cold as ice to Song Zhiyi, never touched her, let her suffer under his mother and brother, and by the end she was literally killed by his own disabled brother while pregnant with his child. But this time? He's refusing to call off the engagement, asking her to come to the military unit with him, and when his mom is yelling at him about the wedding disaster, he's completely ignoring her and plotting something else entirely. The scene where he calls "Ma" on the phone is genuinely fascinating. He plays it cool, says it's just a "lovers' quarrel," apologizes for not handling it well, and gets the application reactivated. But the narration tells us: "Song Zhiyi, it seems she really has returned, but this time, he won't let her go." That line hit me like a truck. He remembers everything too, doesn't he? And the mother-in-law dynamic? Xu Lan is absolutely vile. In the previous life she treated Song Zhiyi like a servant and enabled the brother's abuse. But here's the thing that made me sit up—Xie Xingwen actually reflects on his mother's attitude and thinks: "In his past life, it was precisely this attitude of hers that made Song Zhiyi's life in the Xie family a living hell." That moment of self-awareness from him? Chef's kiss. He's not just blindly repeating the past; he's actively trying to change it. Meanwhile Song Zhiyi's relationship with her own family is just pure poison. Her father Song Nanfeng took everything—her mother's belongings, the five hundred yuan her uncle sent annually, even the coupons. And she just... stored it all in her space. The line where she says "Well, well, this father of hers owed her quite a lot" had me cackling. She's not just taking revenge; she's doing it with receipts. The aunt situation also wrecked me a little. In the previous life, the aunt was the only warm person Song Zhiyi had during her nightmare at the Xie family. And now she's calling her, and the aunt says "Good child, have you been wronged in the Song family? Don't be afraid. You're always welcome here whenever you want to come." I literally got emotional reading that. After everything Song Zhiyi went through, someone still sees her and wants her to come stay. But here's what's keeping me up at night: Bai City. The aunt lives in Bai City. Xie Xingwen's military unit is in Bai City. Song Zhiyi just bought a train ticket there. Is this coincidence or is something else going on? Because I'm pretty sure Xie Xingwen is also heading to Bai City, and these two paths are about to collide in ways neither of them probably expect.
I have to talk about the dialogue in this chapter because the author has given every single character a completely distinct voice and I am living for it. Let's start with Su Guoqiang. The man is a COMEDIC GOLDMINE. 'Hmph, I'm not your dad. And Ruirui isn't your mom.' That's not just a father disliking his daughter's husband — that's a whole personality in one sentence. Then he goes on this rant about how well-versed he is in ancient and modern times, and Su Sanxian turns it right back on him. The father-daughter bickering dynamic is so natural it could be real life. 'Who are you calling vigorous despite my age?' — I literally screamed laughing. Su Sanxian's voice is perfect too. She's warm with her kids, sharp with her dad, gently teasing with Lin Shen. 'Go on, keep pretending.' 'What the heck?' She has this great balance of maternal softness and personal sass that makes her feel like a real person, not a novel character. The Three Cubs each have their own speech patterns too. Erzai is the sweet one — 'Mom, Erzai will blow on it for you.' Sanzai is the energetic one who stammers when he's embarrassed. Dazai is the serious one who cries easily but also speaks with this quiet intensity. You can tell them apart just from how they talk. Lin Shen's dialogue is more restrained, which actually makes it more powerful. When he says 'Wife, aren't you going to comfort me a little?' it's playful but there's an undercurrent of real vulnerability. He's testing the waters with a wife who doesn't fully remember him yet. The fact that he uses humor to mask that insecurity is such a realistic character choice. And the narrative voice! The author has this great dry wit — 'She wasn't sad at all. Let her cry for just two hours and she'd be fine. .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·.' That emoji energy in the narration is so specific and so funny. It's like the narrator is right there with us, judging Su Sanxian's pride while also loving her. The dialogue never feels staged or expository. Even when information needs to be shared — like Father Su's complaint about the past — it comes out naturally through character interaction rather than info-dumping.

I really love the character development and the plot as well as your writing style but I wish to know more about the world the characters are living in. It would be great if you add more world development in the later chapters and also focus a bit more on Eli's romance with Sara.
Love it! Love the fantasy and I’m getting a werewolf game of thrones vibe so far! Definitely will continue reading!
This is good. It is well written, the only thing I hope is that It won't be harem, I just hate it. I love dragons. Thank you author, keep up the good work!
