This whole sequence takes place in a hospital, and I think the setting is doing a lot of heavy lifting here that the author might not even fully realize. A hospital is already a place of vulnerability—people are sick, weak, exposed. Zhao Ran is in bed three, room 307, and she has no money, no husband, no support. The nurses already have their judgment written on their faces before she even speaks. The whole atmosphere is one of institutional indifference, which mirrors perfectly the emotional indifference of her husband. But then the scene transforms. What starts as a quiet, humiliating moment at the payment window becomes a full-blown public spectacle when Yang Jianjun bursts through the ward door. The hospital corridor becomes a stage, and suddenly there is an audience—police officers, doctors, nurses, onlookers. Everyone who has ever been part of Yang Jianjun's carefully constructed reputation is now witnessing its collapse in real time. The setting amplifies everything. I also want to talk about the police station scene, which is so brilliantly placed. Zhao Ran walking into that station, a rural woman in a time and place where reporting a crime is almost unthinkable for someone like her, is a powerful image. The officers' initial skepticism, their willingness to take her seriously once she frames it correctly—that says something about the world this story exists in. It is a world where a woman's word means almost nothing unless she performs the right kind of desperation. And the detail about the nurses' attitudes! The author doesn't over-explain it, but you can feel the whole social hierarchy in that hospital. The way they look at Zhao Ran, the way they assume she is some kind of country bumpkin who doesn't belong. It adds texture to every scene without ever stopping the plot.
The dialogue in these chapters is genuinely excellent, and I want to highlight how each character has a completely distinct voice. Kikuye's internal monologue is sharp, sarcastic, and self-aware to a fault. Lines like "This kid is way too easy to trick" and "Later Chuuya: …Am I just a part of your weird game?" show a narrator who is constantly commenting on her own narration. She's aware she's the protagonist, aware of tropes (the shonen protagonist comparison for her ability), and uses that awareness as both armor and weapon. Oda's dialogue is almost painfully minimal. "I feel a little jealous." "I'm stating a fact." "It's nothing." Each sentence is flat, precise, and devastating because of what it leaves unsaid. When he says "If it was just manipulation with words, I let it go. But if they deceived or betrayed me, I killed them" — there's no drama, no emotion, just a statement of principle as cold as ice. And that's what makes his later hesitation so powerful. Chuuya is pure chaotic energy. "Wait! Oda, whose side are you even on?!" "That guy has no sense of taste!" "Damn…" He's bratty, reactive, and completely unfiltered — and yet his gratitude shines through in small moments like when he quietly accepts the revised debt terms. Xiao Zhi is the quiet observer who drops bombs casually. "If you ask Edogawa Ranpo, he could find proof." Betraying his ally with the same flat tone he uses for everything. The dialogue between Kikuye and Xiao Zhi about the spicy milk tea — her analyzing his psychology while he just stands there silently — is comedy gold. And the banter between Kikuye and Oda at the end, with everyone teasing about them being "wife-controlled," is the kind of dialogue that makes you want to reread the entire scene just to catch every layered joke.
Agree with the others that the MLIs terrible, but what can expect? The low rating is for 3 reasons. 1) only 16 open chapters ??? Seriously it should 2) it is taking way too long to setup the face slapping. 3) I seriously dislike how 2 face the mother is. Her character automatically prevents the happily ever after scenario between FL and any of the Lu brothers. Who would want her as a MIL?!?
So will the MC share his harem or will he have girls that don’t sleep with other guys ? I’m not a fan of NTR or netorase
So, I've read up to what only has been released so far which is chapter 20. And I'm not much or at all of a romance person. But I can say I enjoyed this for it's descriptive explanations when its going over the background and how the characters feel and their surroundings. I definitely enjoyed the discrepancy of it. It felt as if this was happening in real life as I was reading this. So the imagination and fantasy is definitely there. Which it on its own is amazing, because it shows that I was immersed into the story. I love how you write at the end of the chapter on the author's thoughts about the summary of each chapter going on. One thing I do wish though, was that some parts of the story would be more fast paced. It felt fast paced for the first five chapters of the story and then it felt as if it dropped for a portion of it. But that's my own preference. But for the most part the characters are adept and seemingly real in their emotions and how they act.
Heloooo everyoneeee!Author's here. :)As you all might know, my name is Kaito Arise (pronounced as Eris) and this is my first ever book that I had published. This book is going to be a light novels, so maybe around 30 chapter or so. I'm doing this writting stuff as a side hustle, but dont worry because I have finished writting this story. Just stay tuned for it to get publish, okay. :)Im thinking of creating a bunch of other light novels as well. Because of that, I need a support from all of you guys. Your support means a lot to me and it giving me enough moral support to keep on cooking exciting stories. See you guys around! If you can, kindly leave a review about this story.Me when you rate five star:
Great book with very good potential so far. There is a nice balance of suspense and surprises along the way and good worldbuilding and character development. I really like the uniqueness of this novel, and I feel it has plenty of room to develop new and interesting concepts.
This book have many of its own unique setting such as beast, goddess, and many races. I can only say it was a good good book with interesting plot.Just why I’ve see author using “he” and “she” on the same character ?Because of your update stability shocked me, imma give you a pizza ?, hope your novel got better and remember get enough rest before you start writing.
This is going to be interesting, definitely following this one after reading your first completed book. Hoping for more chapter updates.

Exceptional, ecstatic and a really good novel to keep your mind buried in after a stressed day. I love how its context is similar to roman or greek midieval times and its emphasis on loyalty. Keep it up??
I love the world-building, but redundancy should be taken care of. The writing style is good, though I suggest minimizing the detailed physical descriptions of every character
