Okay, can we talk about how the author just DROPS the rain on these characters halfway through the return trip? Like, one second they're on the ox cart, the next—sheets of water, freezing autumn wind, and Ye Wuyou shivering so badly her teeth are chattering. This is exactly the kind of pacing move that makes you want to stay up until 3 AM. The author doesn't linger on the market drama for too long; they get Old Lady Wang's humiliation, Wang Xiaodie running off, and then BAM, the weather turns hostile. It's efficient storytelling—no wasted words, no dragging scenes. And then the real tension builder: the bath scene. The author stretches this moment out with deliberate slowness. Ling Yu has to help her undress, help her bathe, help her dress again—all while both of them are dying of embarrassment. Every beat is loaded with awkwardness and unspoken feelings. The pacing here is almost suffocating in the best way. You're sitting there going "just let them get through this already" but the author keeps adding layers: the ginger soup, the hand massage, the "turn your face the other way" moment. Each small action raises the stakes of their relationship. Then—just when you think the chapter is winding down—she falls asleep and immediately gets thrown into a nightmare about the apocalypse. The structural pivot from domestic intimacy to traumatic flashback is brutal. It's like the author is saying "you thought this was a sweet fluff scene? WRONG." That transition is so sharp it almost hurts. And ending on the revelation about her hand injuries being nerve damage, not just surface wounds, sets up the next chapter perfectly. The author knows exactly when to pull the rug out from under you.
The worldbuilding in this novel is doing SO MUCH heavy lifting and I need to appreciate it. We're in what seems like 1970s-80s China — the Workers-Peasant-Soldier University, the Rainbow Factory, the residential compound, the Women's Federation. Every detail grounds us in a specific time and place where a woman like Xu Zhizhi had almost no legal or social recourse. The hospital ward scene is perfect worldbuilding. You've got this mix of private family drama playing out in a semi-public space, with other patients and nurses overhearing everything. The gossip spreads instantly through the factory compound — "Xu Zhizhi is secretly seeing someone" — which shows how tightly knit and suffocating these work-unit communities were. Your personal life was everyone's business. And then there's the shadow plot — Lu Yuchuan's secret mission, the color picture tube technology that's a "national priority," enemy operatives infiltrating domestic positions. The author weaves this political thriller element into the domestic drama without it feeling forced. The factory isn't just a backdrop; it's where the personal and political collide. The detail about Xu Zhizhi only having six mao and two fen to her name? That's not just a number — it's the economic reality of a woman who's been financially controlled her entire life. When Sister Peng tells her to collect her own wages, it's a small moment but it represents real autonomy in a system that didn't allow it.
5/5, anyways IM ALWAYS WATCHING YOU(IF YOU EVER TRY TO PURSUE ME, CALAMITY WILL FALL UPON YOU)
Not as an author, but as a reader, I am writing this review. What can I say? Interesting characters, a good world, logically thinking characters, mind games, and developed smuts later on. Simply, best among the best. Keep writing, and keep entertaining. And here take note power stones, because you deserve it, Lol.
This story was engaging and readable. ?? the character development was really good, I like Ara naughtiness and Vivid description also good ??
I like how the story goes, even though it's only 9 chapters as of writing this comment. Nonetheless, Your story has Good flow.
A very nice wish fulfilment type novel ...and the system is very generous . not too overboard right off the start ..he has to work to get it ,but the rewards r generous. can't get enough of this .more chapters!!!!!!!!
Fantastic novel and a great read. You will love it.
This is a good novel, a hidden gem. The MC is cautious and actually thinks about the steps he makes. He isn't an arrogant fool, who will do irrational things based on his emotions. Instead he bides his time, and always ensure he makes the winning move. His system isn't too OP either. It's exactly as it presents itself, no extra sign-in nonsense, no lottery, no hidden reward. All it does is optimize techniques. Which is a decent cheat. The writing is a step above your normal original fic, and the MC seems to be a ruthless character willing to do anything for power with no remorse or scruples. One thing I would like to see more of in the novel however, is more interaction between the mc and the world/characters. For the most part mc is a hermit (which isn't bad).
okay so , I have read all the books from chrome and telegram , I wanted to try something different , I came to web novel and to be true it's the first book I saw here on my phone , first few chapters were awesome and felt relaxing to read , the authors's new and has this raw potential in his writing and imagination , although I haven't read many of the chapters but this can be good , hope the author continues and keeps improving .p.s:- you should retouch some early chapters , they can use some refining.
I am just a few chapters in, and I am loving the plot and the writing style. I'm eagerly anticipating finishing this book! It is absolutely a fantastic read for real.
The story starts off really good. There are a few mysteries involving the MC. This is also my first time reading this kind of storyline. Sure I've read reincarnations with werewolves but this is a human reincarnated into a werewolf. That would be an interesting story already not to include being the chosen one as well. I can't wait to see how the story develops. Keep up the good work! ????
