After everything—after being betrayed, after being married to a man who clearly never respected her—she delivers this with such cold finality. No drama, no explanation. Just two words that change everything. I love how the narrative immediately contrasts this with Ao Jing's internal monologue about how SHE was the one who begged to marry HIM. The dialogue does so much work here because it reveals the entire history of their relationship in one devastating exchange. Then there's Ao Jing yelling at Bai Jinshu: "If you want to die, go die somewhere far away. Do not dare harm Grandfather." This line is PERFECT because it shows everything wrong with him—he's so consumed with his own anger that he can't even process the fact that she just exposed his concubine's scheme. His voice is all rage and zero self-awareness. Bai Jinshu's counter to the Emperor: "I stake my life on this. I can definitely cure the Emperor Emeritus's illness. If I fail, you may hold me accountable—whether to execute or punish me, I will not utter a word of protest. But we cannot afford to waste any more time." This is the kind of dialogue that makes you sit up straight. She's not begging. She's not apologizing. She's making a deal with the most powerful man in the empire and she's doing it with absolute conviction. And Zongzheng Ling's line to the physicians: "So you're giving up so easily?" Three words. That's all it takes to make twelve imperial physicians kowtow in terror. His voice doesn't need to be loud. It never is. The power is in the delivery.

currently only 12 chapters and I'm liking the story and it's premise of mc having 9 body's and 9 systems to each body's profession though it will be difficult to remember which body has which profession but like I said I'm liking the story and hope it doesn't get dropped

I love this novel. The writing style is so on point up to my standards and can we talk about the mystery? I don't have any idea what's going on or how it started, like Alice in Borderland has been mentioned and I think I'll just settle with the fact that that's what really happened otherwise I might go mad lol
