RemarkableIdiot
Okay, can we just appreciate how funny this book is? I know it's an earthquake novel, I know people are dying, but Nuonuo's internal voice had me laughing out loud. "My owner really is adorably silly." That's not just dialogue—that's personality. The author gives this dog a distinct voice, and it's perfect. And Shen Qi's reaction to the telepathic communication? "Nuonuo... you... became a spirit?!" I died. She immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion instead of asking about Xiaohu, and then Nuonuo is just sitting there like, "Really? Right now?" That's such a natural, human response. The humor comes from the absurdity of the situation colliding with normal human confusion. The dialogue between Shen Qi and Nuonuo feels like a real conversation between a person and their pet who could actually talk. Shen Qi fires off four questions in a row—"Xiaohu went outside? When? How did he get out? What did he go out for?"—and that's exactly how someone would react. Panic, then interrogation, then embarrassment when she realizes she's being ridiculous. But the author also knows when to be serious. The rescue team leader's speech—"Hua Country will not abandon a single citizen's life"—that's delivered with weight. It's not just patriotic filler; it's a promise that sets up the entire rescue narrative. And the contrast between that hope and the chaos described in other countries? That's the author's voice making a statement without being preachy. The narrative voice itself is great too. It's close third person, staying in Shen Qi's head, but it has this wry, observant quality. The author isn't taking themselves too seriously, even when the stakes are life and death. That tone is going to carry this story really well.
Can we just talk about how GOOD the dialogue is in this chapter? Like, genuinely. I've read so many novels where characters sound like they're reading from a script and it breaks me every time. But here? Everyone sounds like a real person. Take the Xu family scene. Eldest Aunt Xu's dialogue is instantly recognizable—sharp, slightly bitter, always one step away from a passive-aggressive jab. "Little Cousin, you're also quite a handsome young man. I believe you'll definitely make it." That's not friendliness. That's a woman who's been made fun of her whole life learning to weaponize politeness. And then there's Xinjun, the younger male cousin: "Aili and Xindang were playing nearby with the vines from the pig fodder, tearing them into short pieces, hanging them around their necks, and chasing each other around as they played." Wait, that's narration. But his actual dialogue? "Sister-in-law, fortunately Xinhong and Xinjun didn't inherit your height." This kid is a brat and I LOVE him. He says exactly what everyone's thinking and gets scolded for it. That's how real families work. Fang Yuan's dialogue is different—measured, professional when she needs to be, but with a warmth that comes through even in clinical situations. When she tells Yinghua's mother about the surgery: "Don't worry. Our hospital can issue a medical certificate. If necessary, you can show it to the groom." She's not just a doctor here—she's a woman who understands the social stakes and is protecting this girl's future. The Hao family dialogue is even better. Uncle Hao: "I don't understand, I don't understand. As long as I know that you're a great doctor now, Ah Yuan, that's enough for us to trust you." This man has no medical knowledge but he has complete faith. That line captures an entire cultural dynamic in one sentence. And the narration itself—Fang Yuan's internal voice is so distinct. When she thinks about Da Mao: "She had noticed that among the four siblings, Xiao Mao was more like her. His personality was quieter and more reserved, and he liked sitting quietly and reading books." This is a character who observes everything and files it away. The author's voice is invisible but omnipresent. You never feel like you're being told what to think. You just hear these people talking and you're hooked.
That shrine… that whole section… it felt like Silent Hill meets Berserk. The gore, the despair, the tension—it’s all so masterfully done. You’re sick in the best way ?
author here shamelessly giving myself a full 5 stars cuz why not? this is my first ever novel i hope you enjoy and please take care of me
this is the best novel like this novel this is the best novel in the world look this novel
novels is pretty good.. translation is pretty good.. author fixes the error if mentioned..
The main thing is the writing quality is pretty good I'd admit and it starts off with the solid storyline premise and MC's motives. One of my biggest pet peeves is when there is romance that completely disrupts or sometimes completely takes over the storyline. Now generally speaking if I'm looking for a romance novel that's fine that's what I'm looking for but whenever I'm looking for a vrmo novel I'm here to read about the vrmo as the player levels up within the VR world I don't want the story halfway through to be completely derailed for something that's happening in real life unless if it's specifically tied into the game somehow which it is not
chapter29 was fire!!! Aria and the group are getting stronger and i like that.
has it been dropped? I love this story and I hope not, I hope it keeps going.
So I've read 16 chs in and mc is constantly getting beaten or insulted every other ch, he can choose to accept the 'blessing' to become powerful, it's some sort of innate ability/talent of that world but he chose not to and thereby becoming the weakest student of the academy and getting constantly bullied. Story might progress well as I've not even completed 20 ch but I am tired of seeing mc getting pushed around all the time. It's like the other novel where mc is the son of villainess where he is insulted every chapter and getting literally bloddied every four chs or so. The character design is good but it gets a bit confusing when the narration changes from people to people.
Really really good plot, main character is not too op, side characters are really likeable, two things to say though, main charecter can be dumb but is usually not, for example he made a deal with a demon where he could have had a way better deal cause he could have killd it at any point, meaning he has leverage, but let the demon have the better deal. Only instance of him being dumb so far at chapter 56. And the final thing is that if you are here to have mass amounts of r18 content go somewhere else, though I do hope we will have some with the dragon soon ;)
Tear, Tear and Tear are the name of the mc, the liquid that flows down his cheek and what he will do to his enemies(tear apart). Always interesting to see the new ways our MC's get in to their worlds. A big thumbs up for more chapters to come.
