I need to talk about how the author handles pacing because honestly it's a rollercoaster. You start with Wu Xiaomei getting expelled in the cold wind, surrounded by judgmental classmates, and then—BAM—you're at a jade auction with tycoons and billion-dollar stones. The transition from Chapter 22 to Chapter 24 is jarring in the best way. It's like the author looked at the story and said 'you know what this needs? More money and gambling.' But here's what I appreciate: the Wu Xiaomei scenes aren't just filler. They establish the stakes for the world around the main couple. Zhou's revenge, the smear campaign, the school's reputation—all of that creates this undercurrent of danger that makes you care about what happens next. And then Shen Xingbai's monologue in Chapter 23? Perfect breather. After all that drama, we get his internal thoughts and the childhood flashback, which slows things down just enough before the auction chaos resumes. The auction itself is paced brilliantly though—starting with the boring stones, building up to the Mu Na Bayberry Skin, the bidding war, Shen Xingbai stopping Nalan from bidding, and then the cutting scene. Each cut of the stone is a little mini-climax. I couldn't put it down.
I need to talk about He Jin because WOW. The way the author writes him is just *chef's kiss*. Remember that scene where Ling Zhibai tells him about Shen Yutang throwing away all those photos, and He Jin just goes 'Oh' but his mouth curves up? I literally gasped. This man is so bad at hiding his feelings it's painful and I love it. And then there's the water bottle scene—He Jin drinking that entire bottle in ten seconds, pulling Shen Yutang close, putting the medal around her neck, telling her she owes him a meal. The tension between them is SO different from whatever Fu Hansheng and Shen Yutang had. With Fu Hansheng, it was this one-sided devotion where she gave everything and got nothing. With He Jin, there's actual banter, actual push-and-pull, actual chemistry. "For you." — four words that hit different. He's not being cold and aloof like Fu Hansheng. He's being direct, a little roguish, but genuinely appreciative. And Shen Yutang's reaction? She's not blushing and stammering like she used to with Fu Hansheng. She's confident, she's teasing back, she's actually having fun. The contrast is brutal when you think about it. Fu Hansheng can't even process that she's changed—he's so stuck in his own narrative that he assumes she'll come crawling back. Meanwhile He Jin is already winning her over just by being a actual human being. The emotional payoff of watching Shen Yutang finally receive genuine affection instead of cold shoulders is just... I'm not okay.
Story is well written, and has quite a bit of future potential. Just remember this though, if you yourself, enjoy writing your stories, then that is the one thing that should matter the most more then anything else. Sometimes, it is not about any sort of money or payment, but should in fact, always be about enjoying sharing your work with your viewers and fans. And that, should always take priority, because if your fans and viewers enjoy reading your work, as well as potential future generations, then that is the one thing, that should matter more to you then anything else. For you see, people are more concerned in living in the here and now. While people me, we like to have a more, long game in mind. Now, don't take this as some sort of negative by any means, I am just saying, that if we want future generations to enjoy this world, then we have to be willing to protect what we love, in an effort to do our best to better our future.
I'm still on Chapter 10. But I saw the author's announcement, so decided to write a review so we can have more chapters because I'm afraid of getting cliffhanged! Fighting!

Hard to read at first but it grows out of it and becomes a really good read. It’s funny at times and the dynamic between shameless master and normal disciple seems entertaining. This is a really solid story and all-in-all I really hope it will get picked.
Honestly, I thought this book would be more of a mystery, but it turned out to be a great start. The journey has yet to truly begin!
If only I could give 10 stars for writing quality. I love how the book is described, I imagine so many different scenes as I read. Killing someone just to get a man is diabolical and her hope that woman gets her white stained and dies too tsk tsk. I’m rooting for this book! And I know it’s going to be an amazing read.❤️

This story is truly amazing and has great potential.Each chapter makes you seeking more and really is a must to read.I won't get into detail, but you should read a few chapters and judge it yourself.
