Okay, I need to talk about this scene where Ming Shu finds the storybook and I literally screamed. The book is called 'The Fragrance of Pear Blossoms' and it's basically a fictionalized version of her own life with Yan Wei. A cousin living under another's roof, a general with illustrious military achievements, subtle hints leading to actual feelings—this isn't coincidence, this is someone watching her and turning it into entertainment. Tang Li's reaction alone tells you everything. She tries to snatch it away, guilty as sin, which means she probably knows who wrote it or at least suspects. And then Yan Wei sees the book fall, glances at the cover, and thinks NOTHING. He has no idea it's about him and his cousin. The dramatic irony here is absolutely delicious. Meanwhile, the imperial decree arrives right after, forcing them to travel to the capital together. The plot is stacking up like a house of cards in a windstorm—every scene pushes them closer together while simultaneously threatening to tear them apart. I'm obsessed.
Okay so let me just say this: the moment I realized Li Wu might ALSO be reincarnated, I literally gasped out loud. The author drops these subtle breadcrumbs and I missed them on first read. Like, Shu Xian is just doing his system tasks, trying to trip up the protagonist shou and get the four pursuers to show up, right? Classic transmigration setup. But then Li Wu keeps doing these... off things. He remembers how Shu Xian treated him in his previous life. He says 'in this life I don't have the energy to bother with such a tiny ant.' That's not how a typical protagonist shou behaves, folks. That's someone who's been through the wringer. The plot twist here is delicious because it flips the entire power dynamic. Shu Xian thinks he's the one in control, the system host with a mission, but Li Wu is clearly playing a longer game. And get this — when Li Wu gets kicked and falls off the bed, Shu Xian's first instinct is worry because 'if the protagonist shou ended up seriously hurt, those four protectors would beat him to death.' The system host is more concerned about completing his task than the actual human being he's tormenting. That's some beautifully twisted character work. Also, the timeline discrepancy! Li Wu is supposed to come back at twenty but he's eighteen now. The system says everything's fine but the plot has clearly shifted. What does that mean? Is the system lying? Is there another variable at play? The author is setting up this slow-burn mystery underneath what appears to be a fluffy romance-comedy premise, and I am HERE for it.
Okay so let me just say this: the Luo Qi situation had me absolutely fuming. This woman—Xie Yushu's supposed best friend for years—went out of her way to systematically destroy her life. And the worst part? The original owner never saw it coming. I kept thinking about that line where it says the original owner must have seen clearly what was happening in her final days, and felt nothing but regret and disgust at her own foolish trust. That hit me like a truck. It's one thing to be betrayed by an enemy, but when it's someone you trusted? That's a different kind of death entirely. And then Du Yinghua—poor girl, she was just manipulated too. She wasn't even the real villain here, just some petty person who couldn't stand being disliked and let Luo Qi twist her into doing the dirty work. The whole thing made me realize how dangerous it is to let your emotions override your judgment. Luo Qi didn't just attack Xie Yushu's reputation; she attacked the one thing the original owner had left—her sense of self-worth. And that's what killed her, not the gambling debt or the poverty. It was knowing your best friend never cared about you at all.
This author has smashed it out the park with the phenomenal writing and structure. Cannot wait for the future of this talented writer. Good characters and betrayal seem like the best choice in this web novel. I will be here till the end to see this masterpiece completed
I like ur first work but I hope this will not the same on ur last one there's no need for more supernatural power in the back man let's be real it's already op having a system that help u and hoping for more business and building secret organization that protect u anyway keep this up man
The story started off very started, and the author didn't waste any time getting to the meat of everything, although I would appreciate some breathing room so the reader can get immersed. The writing is simple, but it flows very well and is easy to read.overall strong start
A pretty interesting read, nice plot and the characters was good.I highly recommend it!
Hola, vas a continuar con esta novela?................................................................................................................
absolutely hysterical! my favorite combinations: sarcastic/intelligent babies and a doting yandere father
I won’t say that my novel is the best one out there that you’ll ever read, but it will surely let you enjoy reading it.
As expected from Sandkastle, this book, like her previous ones, is excellent. I love how Zeno is trying unsuccessfully to be unsuccessful—he is literally failing at failing. I also appreciate the ironic comments that mirror real-world situations, along with the humorous, quirky details that, while not directly related to the plot, enhance the book's charm.
