I need to process what I just read. The scene where Shen Qingyuan raises three fingers and swears publicly—"may I be struck by lightning five times, die a miserable death, and may Anbang's spirit turn into a vengeful ghost to torment me day after day"—I actually felt physical pain in my chest. She's using her dead husband's memory as a shield, and it's both heartbreaking and brilliant. She barely knew him, and yet she's willing to invoke his spirit to protect his children. That's not calculation, that's something deeper. And then the moment with Dabao and Erbao—those two kids rushing home from the mountain with their firewood basket, seeing the crowd, thinking their stepmother was hurting Sanya again. Their immediate hostility, blocking her path, shouting "Put Sanya down!" My heart literally ached. And then Shen Qingyuan does something I didn't expect—she bows to them. She apologizes. She says "I was wrong before, and I apologize to you. I'm sorry." Not defensive, not explaining, just... sorry. The way Sanya looked at her with those clear bright eyes while her brothers stayed hostile—it was so layered. Three kids who've never known kindness from her, and now she's asking them to trust her. I'm already emotionally invested in this found family dynamic and they haven't even left the Zhao household yet. Also, the Shen family drama hit different. Wu Huiniang's explosion about her son's education being cut off because of Shen Qingyuan—she's not wrong, is she? That family is genuinely dysfunctional in ways that feel painfully real.
I need to talk about the rice cakes. Not the venison. Not the wedding descriptions. The rice cakes. Yu Zhu spends her entire afternoon pounding glutinous rice, mixing in osmanthus flowers, adding honey dates and raisins and nuts. She's making two batches. The first one she's not satisfied with. The second one—"truly top quality." And then she wraps them up and sends them to Xue Ningshuang, not Prince Jin. This is the most devastating romantic moment in the entire chapter, and it's not a love scene at all. It's a woman making food for her friend because the man she's supposed to be courting is too busy preparing to marry someone else. And Prince Jin? He receives the rice cakes and feels "a faint sweetness in his heart." He thinks she made them because she loves rice cakes. He doesn't understand why she didn't come herself. He doesn't understand ANY of it. The breakfast scene the next morning is where it really hits. She's up before dawn, making his favorite soup, blowing on it to cool it down. She gives him a red envelope—her own red envelope, not one from him—and he just... accepts it. He thinks this is normal. He thinks this is how things are supposed to be. And Yu Zhu? She's thinking about her family. Her mother, her father's sorghum wine, her brothers sneaking fried meatballs. "That kind of family harmony was the true flavor of the New Year." She's remembering a life she'll never have while sitting across from a man who is preparing to give her nothing but scraps of attention. I'm not okay with this.
Okay can we just talk about Ji Heng for a second because THIS MAN. When he says 'if he wants to come down, let him help' — I literally screamed. The kid is like four days old and this man is just casually dropping him on the ground to shoot fireballs at weeds. And Tian Le's internal monologue about how Ji Heng doesn't overthink it because he's never seen Ji Tianyi as ordinary?? That's love. That's devotion. That's a man who looked at a baby and saw a warrior. But the real gem is the Tian Le and Ji Heng dynamic. Tian Le keeps thinking 'Tutu hasn't contacted anyone from the Transmigration Alliance yet. If he died in this world and couldn't survive, it would be tragic. Treasure life, hold tight to Ji Heng's leg.' I WAS CHOKING. He's literally using Ji Heng as a survival strategy and I love it for him. And Ji Heng — he notices Tian Le instinctively hugging Ji Tianyi when the lock gets smashed and feels 'slightly relieved' about his judgment of people. This man reads people like books and he chose RIGHT. The way Ji Heng assigns Tian Le to go check the gas station while carrying the baby and telling him to 'go sit there and eat something, and make some milk for Tianyi' — he's giving him a job, giving him purpose, but also making sure he's fed. He never treats him as just storage space. Even when he's silently watching Tian Le make shelves disappear, he's not annoyed — he's just... observing. Like he's used to Tian Le's quirks by now.
Wawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww? amazing workkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk….. keeppppp itttttt uppppppppppp??????????????????????????????????
Hi, I'm a huge fan of your work! I recently finished reading your book and was thoroughly impressed. I'd love to offer some suggestions on how to further boost your book's success and reach an even wider audience. Would you be open to hearing my ideas?
So far, I love the characters although some of them are irritating. Lol. Anyway, I hope the characters will have some sort of character-development experience!
Author is really good at harassing EX??sometimes I can't help but feel sorry for him.
This WOW. Okay, this book is soooo good, I can’t even—Harold Etton is just trying to live his life, and then BAM, he finds this weird thing called an Artifact. And then BOOM, everything changes. It’s like, why didn’t I find an Artifact to make my life cooler?!? So Harold’s life is pretty messed up, and he’s just kind of existing, you know? But then he finds the Artifact and suddenly he’s important. There’s magic, there’s stuff happening, and he’s like whoa, and I’m over here like “Can I have one too??”The story is really fun and easy to read. Stuff happens fast, and every time I thought I figured out what was going to happen, it didn’t. The Artifacts are cool, and Harold’s pretty relatable, like, you feel bad for him, then you’re like wow, Harold, you’re awesome. It was like my brain was turning to mush from trying to keep up with all the crazy things going on.The twists are wild. You’ll be like, “Whaaaaat just happened?” but in a good way! It makes you think... maybe I should find an Artifact myself? So yeah, it’s really fun, kinda crazy, and gives you brain rot in a good way. Totally recommend!REVIEW

A really cool read, I love the MC. The fact the MC isn't about crying to people and just doing what needs to be done is fantastic. Where are the good scenes though :( . Harem, but I wanna read the dirty dirty things hehe. Show me dirt!!!!!!!
I really enjoy this novel and I consider myself pretty picky about what I read! I love all the characters and the writing style is so fluid. The dynamic between the main character and the male lead has such a nice development. It has frequent chapter releases and I get excited every time I see the notification! Overall, I recommend reading this.
