I need to talk about Su Nianqiu's speech in Chapter 2 because it is PERFECTION. Let me just quote the full thing because it deserves to be memorized: "I am indeed pregnant. However... does the child in my belly have even the slightest connection to a piece of scum like you, who isn't even worthy of being called a human?" Then she goes on to declare that the father is "a hero who stands tall between heaven and earth" and that she'll settle the score with Zhao Dazhuang to the very end. This woman just woke up in a new body, in a new century, with no plan and a pregnancy scare, and she DELIVERS this like she's been doing it her whole life. The dialogue is sharp, controlled, and absolutely devastating. She doesn't stutter. She doesn't cry. She looks a terrified gossip in the eye and dismantles him with words alone. And the parents' voices are equally distinct. Li Xiulan's dialogue is all action and fury—"I'll split them open first!"—short, punchy sentences that match her carrying-pole energy. Su Jianguo speaks in authority—"Anyone who dares spread another rumor today will be charged with undermining collective unity!"—formal, measured, the voice of a man who's spent decades commanding respect. Even the gossiping villagers have distinct voices. You can hear the different women in the crowd, each adding their own venomous commentary. The dialogue never feels like everyone's just saying the same thing in different words. The narrative voice itself is also really good—Su Nianqiu's internal monologue has this perfect blend of modern sarcasm ("Starting off in hell mode! How is this even playable!") and genuine emotional vulnerability. It never feels like two different voices fighting each other. The transition from her modern designer mindset to her 1970s circumstances feels natural, not jarring.
I love how strong the female lead is portrayed and how well the world is built. The story is slow paced but I'm waiting for more chapters to be released
Author review. Since this is my second-ish novel I hope to receive new and continued support as I try my best to write this one in a better way. So sit down grab some snacks and enjoy.
Interesting start, overall it's a good book. Keep it up
My bottleneck has loosened while my soul is like a mirror. My heart demon dispersed, kneeling before peak fiction. My enemies coughed blood and offended a weird genius. I, your father, approve this scripture.
Very fun read could do with some more substance, sometimes the story fast tracks events like his business which I thick could have more details
OMG poor ember has really suffered enough!
A really interesting Romance work. love the use of words - really elevated.
It’s good so far. Reading the book description I’m having suspicions this Druid idea is based off of Dark and Darker and/or Wow. In which case I’m very excited because they are interesting concepts. Either way I’ll leave an actual review at 200-300 chapters or so.
The first chapter was a LOT in terms of events, I'm really curious as to what pushed Lar and the others to betray Neraxis. And Alice :/I really love the world building, cool mix of adding rpg elements into it. So far so good
I love it, Elena the hunter with more enemies, I would have never thought Titus was that in the first chapter, it's engaging weldone, nice one, I enjoyed it, both Liam part, Elena and the boss Titus and Balxer,.
As someone who is reading ahead on patreon, the story is alright. It's not a masterpiece but it doesn't need to be. It's a fun read with good characters. The MC is a mysterious guy with unknown past maybe we'll learn about it in the future. Most of all this story has a Fatty. We all know that stories with Fat side characters are generally good. What I appreciate the most about this story is the humor. It hits you out of nowhere but it hits like a truck, not forced or unnatural at all...
