Okay so let me just say this: the way the plot is setting Suian up is absolutely masterful. On the surface, everything looks like a promotion. Grand Madame is "doting" on Ninth Master, wants to place someone in his quarters, and Suian is the obvious choice. But read between the lines and it's a total trap. Think about it. Suian herself is panicking internally — she has zero interest in becoming a tongfang. She just wants to save enough silver to redeem herself and go home to her sick father. And yet here comes Old Madam casually dropping the bomb in front of everyone like it's nothing. Even worse, she doesn't even try to hide it in private. She just... says it out loud. The plot twist that hit me hardest was Chu Yi's reaction. The kid literally says "I don't want any woman in my quarters, and I certainly don't want that wretched girl." Like, bro, you're fourteen and you already have opinions this sharp? But then Old Madam counters with the REAL reason — she needs to get someone in there BEFORE Commander Chu returns, otherwise it looks like she's competing with her husband. That's when it clicked for me: this isn't about Ninth Master's happiness at all. It's about household politics. And Suian? She has no idea any of this is being discussed. She's out there making furniture lists like a good little servant while her fate is being decided behind her back. The dramatic irony is SO thick I could cut it with a knife.
The worldbuilding in this chapter is subtle but incredibly effective. The author never stops to give us a full description of the Academy—instead, we learn about it through the students' suffering. The canteen food is described in such vivid, almost comedic detail: noodles "stuck together like dough or porridge," sesame buns "hard as a stone" with no filling, and the egg-and-tofu buns where they "boiled whole eggs and mixed them in" like the cooks are trying to choke them before lessons even start. And then there's the contrast. The setting sun gilding the Imperial College in "a layer of warm gold" while students trudge along "like walking corpses." That image is so cinematic. You can see it—the golden light, the sea of heads, the mechanical movement. It's beautiful and bleak at the same time, and it tells you everything about what life is like here. The classroom scene where the students crowd around Shen Qingsong is also incredibly vivid. The oil-wrapped parcels, the rich savory juices soaking through the bread, the way the scent alone makes stomachs rumble. The author writes food like it's a character itself. And the moment when the crowd surges in, the door flies open, and Du Lang is caught red-handed with his cheeks puffed out like a squirrel—that's pure visual comedy. I could see this as a film frame.
I need to talk about Leon and Xiao Yu's dynamic because WOW. On the surface, this is a classic "grumpy cat owns soft omega" setup. But the deeper you dig, the more it's actually TWO damaged people who happen to be in different bodies, recognizing something in each other. Leon — this former top athlete, a man who built his identity on physical dominance and pride — is now trapped in a body that can't even open a door by himself. And Xiao Yu? He's this fragile-looking omega who curses like a sailor and can bench press Leon without breaking a sweat, but who also got his heart crushed publicly at fourteen. The moment that sealed it for me was when Xiao Yu almost sends Leon back to the cat café, then decides to keep him because "a cat that had just received a brief moment of affection and was then abandoned, wasn't it just like his fourteen-year-old self?" That's not just empathy — that's self-recognition. He's protecting the cat because he never had anyone protect him. And Leon? He's iron-willed one second, purring like a tractor the next. The text says "the iron A disgusted by his own act of being cute" and I literally laughed out loud. This man is fighting a losing battle against his own body's instincts, and he's not happy about it. But here's the thing — he stays. He could've walked back to Moscow on his paws. Instead, he lets this omega name him "Aurun Zhi" and pretends he doesn't mind. The relationship progression is also suspiciously fast — by chapter 6, Leon is meeting Xiao Yu's friends. Lin Yue even notes "he seems to really like your scent, almost like a human." Like — yeah, bro, you have NO idea. Leon's anxiety-induced migraines literally vanish when he smells Xiao Yu's coconut-orange scent. That's not just plot convenience, that's biological destiny writing itself in real time. The blind date scene? Perfect character work. Leon steps on the alpha's sensitive area without hesitation. Not because he's jealous — well, maybe a little — but because he genuinely assesses this man as unworthy. His internal monologue: "Confirmed. He's not suitable." This is a man who once stood in boxing rings facing opponents twice his size, now reduced to judging romantic prospects by stepping on their crotches. And somehow it works.

I’ve decided to review this novel even though it’s new and has only two chapters. The storyline got me hooked.Talking about the storyline, it’s quite unique and complicated as it states. The author has described every single detail which makes it easier for the readers to imagine and have an idea of the background setting. You have a excellent imagination, I can say that. Coming to the grammar, there are a few grammatical errors in the chapters, it’s not that it cannot be edited. The sentence structure is fine. Overall, the usage of words is good and is perfect for one to imagine the scenes clearly. The more you write, the more you learn! :) I cannot judge the stability of updates as I think the author must be busy plotting the storyline first. I will vote every time the author posts a chapter! >.>Putting aside the official judgement, I personally love this book. I would recommend this to have a read of this book. It’s complicated and amazing >.>Happy writing!More chapters please~
Story is well written, and has quite a bit of future potential. Just remember this though, if you yourself, enjoy writing your stories, then that is the one thing that should matter the most more then anything else. Sometimes, it is not about any sort of money or payment, but should in fact, always be about enjoying sharing your work with your viewers and fans. And that, should always take priority, because if your fans and viewers enjoy reading your work, as well as potential future generations, then that is the one thing, that should matter more to you then anything else. For you see, people are more concerned in living in the here and now. While people me, we like to have a more, long game in mind. Now, don't take this as some sort of negative by any means, I am just saying, that if we want future generations to enjoy this world, then we have to be willing to protect what we love, in an effort to do our best to better our future.
The story is mid/boring. Maybe it gets better as it goes on but the first 50 chapters aren’t anything special. There’s some cliches. Read an hour of it to see if you like it maybe it’s just me
I've tried my best to make the story great with a clear main goal and have wonderful world building and different characters with different styles gave it a try
