Blindmonkeey
I need to talk about how this chapter manages to cover SO MUCH ground without ever feeling rushed or dragged. We start with Nurse Shen's endless gossip about Ruolian's dowry and wedding expenses—this is domestic political maneuvering at its finest. Then Lin lays out her strategic reasoning, and we get a whole scene at the Lin family home where the maternal uncle explains the scholarly elite network and marriage alliances. That's a lot of exposition, right? But it's delivered through natural family conversation, not infodumping. Then Shaohuai falls asleep in his mother's arms—that's a perfect emotional palate cleanser. And then we cut to the next day, Shaohuai demanding books, and suddenly we're in this incredibly intimate father-son teaching scene. The chapter moves from household politics to family visit to educational philosophy to personal bonding, and each transition feels earned. The author uses Shaohuai's toddler body as a pacing device too—his short attention span means scenes naturally end when he gets tired or distracted. When he points at snacks and water to stall Nurse Shen, that's both comic relief and a structural beat that keeps the tension from getting too heavy. And the ending with Aunt Shen overhearing the education discussion from outside the door—she doesn't interrupt, she just listens and then brings Jin in. That's a perfect chapter close: it opens a new thread (Jin also learning) while closing the current one (the decision about early education). The pacing is basically flawless.
The opening of this passage is absolutely brutal and I'm still recovering. "This is a heart pieced together from nine children's hearts." And then the narration drops that it probably took over a thousand children to assemble. Over. A. Thousand. And it was sitting in a bridal chamber. Like, someone's wedding night room. The sheer wrongness of that image is something I can't shake. But what's fascinating is how the scene transforms. That black, pulsating, disgusting heart—described with words like "sizzling" and "bubbling like soda" when the golden formation hits it—gives way to something almost sacred. The children's souls emerge and the text describes them as looking "remarkably like the golden boys and jade maidens depicted in New Year paintings." This is such a culturally specific image that immediately grounds the story in a particular world. They're hovering, some crawling, some sitting, completely innocent and unaware. The youngest under a year old, the oldest five. The contrast between the black heart that imprisoned them and their luminous, uncorrupted souls is devastating. And then there's the Taoist priest in the other corner of the capital. The moment Wen Ling breaks his formation, he spits blood, his eyes snap open in disbelief, and his skin rapidly withers like a deflated balloon. Bark-like folds. Collapses dead. This is worldbuilding through consequence—the dark arts he practiced have a literal cost, and the moment the formation breaks, that cost is collected. The world feels alive because every magical action has weight and repercussion.
Wow! Superb! He is a talented writer. He'll reach peak
The story seems to hold mysterious and unpredictable love story, with the blend of raw, unrestrained and realistic human emotions, making readers reflect upon themselves, while reading it. Great work ?

the story is going good bro , will waited for next Chapter
Really well written for the first time. The storyline is very interesting and captivating. There is no additional support from system or something like that but I prefer it that way.
Okay, this is fun enough, and even though the MC hasn't shown itself yet, but there's something interesting about it, I suggest you read it.Down with the righteous rotten stuff, and here you need an MC who will arrange oceans of blood and mountains of corpses, just like that...
It's really good. His other works are good too he have a vision for this. Please don't stop and keep going like your other work. We want more. I like how you lifted the story. First few chapters were introduction. It's worth waiting the spice you get after that is otherworldly.
Naw it was ok until it reached Chapter 136... SHE didn't disturb that! I don't understand this crap at all... that grudge was long fulfilled way earlier on, there was no need for that, you better bring her back into Shadow's life or I am dropping
