There's this one moment — and I don't even know how to describe it without sounding dramatic, but it genuinely gave me chills — when Ji Wanning walks into her room after the confrontation with her mother and just... collapses. The text says: "Leaning against it, she felt the coolness of the wood seep through her back, spreading from her spine into both her body and her heart. Slowly, she slid down to the floor, hugged her knees, and buried her face against them." I don't know why that specific image got me. Maybe it's the physicality of it — the cold wood, the spine, the slow slide to the floor. It's not a dramatic, wailing breakdown. It's quiet. It's the kind of collapse that happens when you've been holding yourself together for so long that the moment you're alone, your body just gives up. And then: "The moment she blinked, tears slipped silently from the corners of her eyes." Not sobbing. Not screaming. Just... silent tears. That's somehow worse. But then — and this is where it gets really cinematic — she forces herself up. "Ji Wanning, why are you crying? You already knew this was the truth." She talks to herself like a coach. Like she's disciplining her own emotions. "You can't cry, understand? Today is your wedding day. You should be happy." And she "forced a smile onto her face." I literally had to put the book down for a second. The contrast between the quiet devastation in that room and the noise outside — chairs scraping, Lin Yun's shrill complaints — is masterful. The world keeps moving, loud and indifferent, while she's in there reconstructing herself like armor. That's the kind of scene you remember.
I am not okay. I repeat, I am NOT okay with how cute Shen Tingjun is in this arc. Let me set the scene: they're on a bicycle, he just gave her a pearl hairpin (his MOM's pearl hairpin, which is basically a love confession in this era), and she casually starts digging through his pants pocket like it's a treasure chest. And his reaction? He stops the bike. He glares. His ears turn beet red. And he says "Just behave yourself!" like that's going to stop her from being adorably chaotic. The narration says it all: "The big-shot hooligan was such a pure-hearted little boy!" Jiang Wanwan figures it out too — she goes from confused to embarrassed to finding it hilarious. That moment where she realizes WHY his face is red? Chef's kiss. Author, you monster, I love you. But here's what really got me — Shen Tingjun's internal monologue. He notices that she's changed. Before, she would've said "I'll dump you" if he mentioned marriage early. Now she just threatens to punch him. She's not talking about ending things anymore. She's talking about a future. The revolution is about to be won, he thinks. That's not just flirtation. That's two people who are slowly, awkwardly, beautifully realizing they want the same thing. He's calculating date spots because he wants a year of this. She's asserting boundaries because she's scared of losing it. And the chocolate scene with Xu Huipeng? He uses the chocolate as a distraction so SHE can escape. He's thinking of her even when he's being sneaky about it. "You look beautiful in them, and I'm happy to see you happy. That makes the money well spent!" — I'm dead. He paid for expensive clothes and his first thought is her happiness. This man is dangerous.
I need to talk about Xu Jia'an because WOW. This five-year-old child is the most manipulative little monster I have ever encountered and I am HERE for it. Let me walk you through what happened: Xu Yao was the one asking for praise, right? She was the one seeking validation. And somehow, some way, this tiny kid SWITCHED the reward system so that SHE ended up giving HIM kisses instead. She got outmaneuvered by a kindergartener. A FIVE-YEAR-OLD. And the worst part? She hadn't even lost the game! They tied! But somehow the punishment became hers. The author wrote it so perfectly—Xu Yao's internal monologue of pure disbelief, that smug little smile creeping onto his face. I was equal parts horrified and delighted. But then it gets SOFT. Like, actually soft. When he says 'I want a kiss' with those big dark eyes shining 'like wet glass as he looked at her, as pitiful as a puppy begging for scraps'—okay, I'm not crying, you're crying. And later, when he sighs softly because he still hasn't gotten his kiss, with his hands clasped behind his back and that serious expression? Xu Yao walks away thinking he's just being cute, but the reader knows. The reader KNOWS this kid is already plotting his next move. The mother-son dynamic between them is everything. He's fiercely loyal, almost obsessively so. 'Even if it meant relying on him until death, he didn't mind—on one condition: that Xu Yao never left him.' That line hit me like a truck. This child has already been through enough betrayal in his past life to know what it means to be abandoned, and Xu Yao is his anchor.
op story and btw if you all wanna read some more good book you can read "meteosity"
Just the average shameless author rating their story. Here are some questions you may ask before reading:-What’s this story about? It’s about a female regress or that travels back 700 years past.-Who is the lead? Her name is Sarina. She is going to be the most evilest woman in fiction you’ll come across. Haha once the book gets going you’ll see her atrocities.-Is there Romance? The only romance there is is Sarina being engaged with eternal life! In short she’ll not get banged or do any banging.-Will she become the strongest? Of course once in the end of the book. But as she grows she’ll have to use her brain.-Is it cultivation? Yes, it has Xianxia elements mixed with magic -How fast will you upload? I’ll try to upload once a day. If this novel becomes popular I’ll slave it away and give 2 per day Those are just some questions people might be asking. Overall I recommend to give this book a try. If you read novels you’ll see the two glaring inspirations that I took from. Would love to see what the people guesses. With all that said I’ll see myself out.
Where to start,The writing isn’t just jade beauty this and that, it’s elegant and poised. Words fail to explain the almost lifelike world building.Character development is top notch, Qin Ting plays like a politician every move calculated for the normal brain dead xianxia worlds.10/10 you wouldn’t expect such find in webnovel ?
Holy smokes I am getting into this book. Caught me on the first chapter and couldn't put it down. Can't wait for more! Keep going! :D:D:D:D:D:D
this system type novel of poor to rich urban story is good. enjoying it as its funny enough. not the best but also good enough.
he can't refine shit except for knowledge. Refine bodies of defeated enemies to improve physical strength? nope. Refine magic beast corpse for some sort of strength boost? nope. Refine magic stones or magic tools? nope. Refine corpse of guy with "legendary bloodline" that he killed? nope.
Just an FYI, we're probably looking at about 200-300 chapters planned for this series, but that is subject to change. I have a lot of other ideas I'd like to implement for other stories, but in a few months when I take a break, there's still a decent chance I'll come back to add a side story, or just continue things as they are, should I feel there is more that needs to be said.Anyway, feel free to use this for any questions, comments, concerns, confessions, suggestions, or premonitions.
I am working on this when I have free time. If you have and questions or corrections I would be happy to answer. I don’t have anything planned out so any suggestions on how it should continue are appreciated.
