Let me just say this about Jiang Yihuan's dialogue: she is absolutely unhinged in the best way and every single line comes out of her mouth like she hasn't processed that she's in a noble household. 'You're like the black chrysanthemums kept by the village schoolteacher.' SHE SAID THIS TO THE OLD MADAM. To her face. In a formal setting. And the Old Madam just... accepted it because she was in too good a mood to argue? I laughed so hard I woke my roommate up at 2 AM. The contrast between her voice and everyone else's is what makes this book sing. The noble ladies speak in proper, measured sentences full of implied threats and social codes. Jiang Yihuan speaks like a person who sees food and immediately grabs it with both hands. When she says 'Why are you so mean? You're even meaner than Ink Chrysanthemum!' to a young noble lady who's basically threatening her social standing—I mean, who talks like that at a formal banquet? Nobody. Absolutely nobody. And that's why she's perfect. Wei Zhao's dialogue is a different flavor entirely. Short, sharp, sometimes icy, sometimes soft in this way that makes your chest hurt. 'I told you before to stop worrying about me.' That line has so much layered into it—frustration, care, exhaustion, the weight of everything he's carrying. He doesn't say 'I love you' once in these chapters and yet every interaction with her feels loaded. The dialogue between Young Master Cui and Jiang Yihuan is also fantastic because it's a complete collision of worldviews. He's performing moral outrage in full poetic costume and she's looking at him like he's speaking an alien language. 'Since you're my brother's friend, why didn't you help me instead?' That line is a nuclear strike disguised as a question.
I usually don’t review books that haven’t been completed, BUT I’ve been a fan of Author Aimee’s writing for almost a year now. Her writing style is completely unmatched by anyone on this platform, her works are just that captivating. We may only be 5 chapters in here, but this story is guaranteed to keep you coming back for more. An Alpha that doesn’t want his position right off the bat AND has to take care of his siblings, pack, and newfound mate?! I’m already in love. ❤️ Seriously, no one writes better love scenes than this author, so I already have high hopes for Aiden and his mate!

Well, the characters of this book is a bit interesting. I love the world building, although some of the descriptions are a bit difficult to follow, the dialogues are striking and awesome. Good job!
