This novel shares a similar theme with the author's earlier works within the same genre, but it distinguishes itself by having a protagonist who doesn't resort to violence as a solution. The romantic subplot in this book unfolds at a gentler pace compared to the previous two. The author's writing has indeed shown significant growth, yet the distinctive appeal of their earlier novels remains intact in this one.
Rating: 3.5
The story was decent for a smut novel, and the two main characters carried the plot most of the time. However, the side characters were rather underwhelming, and it felt like the author neglected their development until the last dozen chapters, where it was all dumped at once. Not only that, but these final chapters were heavily laden with dialogue and lore dumps, seemingly just for world-building purposes. To the point that you could probably skip half of them without affecting the story.
The smut scenes were fine, though.
To be honest, if you didn’t connect with the characters, it’s pretty tough to keep reading through the later chapters, as the basic story progression grinds to a halt. The conclusion isn’t particularly memorable either.
In summary, I can only say that the setting is quite unique and the plot was intriguing at first, while the main character and love interest seemed to do all the heavy lifting.
The main character is quite captivating, and I really enjoy her wild nature. She's utterly unpredictable and deranged, which adds to the thrill of the story. The plot effectively executes its premise, and the constant杀戮 provides immense satisfaction. While there are many other novels with a murderous MC, they often drag on with lengthy pauses between killings, making them tedious. This one keeps the action going from the very beginning, and I appreciate that aspect greatly. I hope the series continues or gains more attention.
Grab a tissue and wipe all that white stuff off your mouth? Y’all RI fans can never just enjoy something. Bet y'all wake up and be like “Oh sh*t, it’s already 6 pm, gotta make sure to get my daily RI glaze in before it’s too late. Oh can’t forget to showe- aaah who am I kidding? Haven’t touched that bih in a couple years”?
this is just a slice and life novel? but isn't really that?
Yes. I doubt those side stories are coming in.
Enjoyable at first, but then the translation starts to get really bad which makes it difficult to read
if you want better version of this then try"stand user in marvel universe " . it is good
I think Ling Lan is an example of a good f mc shes so cool I love her I js hope there's more f mc like her
I remember this being pretty good but it was almost 2 years ago... I'm afraid I might find this novel boring or bad...
The book was delightful, charming, concise, and occasionally humorous. The first half captivated me; the pacing was brisk, character introductions were seamless, and the plot flowed effortlessly without unnecessary dragging. Each character and scene felt purposeful, making it an engaging read – I could devour the first 50 chapters in a day without getting bored!
While the second half maintained its appeal, it didn't quite match the intensity of the initial 65 chapters. The story started to lag slightly after that point, but it remained a light read. Some plot points, like the pilgrim's identity, castle capture, and the interactions with the Count, could have been handled better or addressed earlier. However, these minor issues didn't detract significantly from the overall experience.
The ending felt somewhat rushed, with some loose ends, but it provided adequate closure for the main characters. On the positive side, the author's writing style was commendable, with clear and concise prose, and every subplot contributing to the final resolution. The narrative felt like a well-crafted puzzle, with each piece fitting perfectly.
The main characters, mercenary Luised and Duke Carlon, were likable and developed throughout the story. Luised might not always ponder deeply, but he's not a foolish or naive character. Their relationship progression was satisfying, with a romantic spark igniting around chapter 75.
There were areas that could have been improved, but the book delivered what it promised within its genre. If you're looking for a lighthearted, entertaining read featuring a cute couple, mystery, and fantasy elements with occasional comedy, this book is right up your alley. Although it has over a hundred chapters, they are relatively shorter than typical, making it a fast-paced read. I gave it four stars, as it met my expectations for a romance novel with a touch of drama.
For fans of the webtoon adaptation, the book maintains a similar tone and atmosphere, staying true to the source material. If you enjoyed the manhwa, you'll likely appreciate this format as well. The first season of the webtoon concludes around chapters 60-65, but starting from the beginning enhances the understanding of the story.
Impressed by the captivating narrative in "The Enigmatic Omnipotent Ruler," this all-encompassing tale immerses readers in a world of extraordinary power and intrigue. The protagonist's journey, brimming with unexpected twists, leaves me eager to turn each page. The writing is both compelling and thought-provoking, painting vivid pictures that keep my imagination alive. A thrilling blend of fantasy and human drama, it's a must-read for fans of epic storytelling.
