I need to talk about this scene where the foolish eldest son grabs Yu Mu'an and refuses to let go. Like... what just happened?? Everyone is furious. Xie Jinghong throws a teacup and storms out. Hu Rui is grinding her teeth. The step-mother is livid. But Xie Jingyan? He just holds her tight and says "Mine! Mine!" and then presses this huge, solid kiss on her face. And Yu Mu'an - she doesn't fight him. She stays perfectly still, hiding her discomfort, like a delicate doll. But there's something so tender about it. This "foolish" boy is fiercely protective of her. He remembers her coaxing him before and now he's claiming her as his own. I keep thinking about how the text describes it: "a child fiercely protecting a treasure." That line hit me hard. Despite his mental disability, he has this pure, instinctive loyalty and affection for Yu Mu'an. And she's not repulsed by him - she's gentle with him, returning his large hand with a soft smile. Meanwhile, Yu Lin is chasing after Xie Jinghong begging him to wait for her, and he's just... gone. Slamming doors, refusing to engage. She told him Yu Mu'an was trying to seduce the fool on their wedding night, and it backfired completely. He's not listening to her anymore. The emotional triangle here is fascinating. Yu Lin has spent her whole life loving Brother Hong, but now that she's reborn and has him, he's pushing away. Yu Mu'an never chose this situation but she's handling it with grace and finding unexpected warmth in the most unlikely person. I'm genuinely invested in how this develops. There's something quietly beautiful about the dynamic between Yu Mu'an and the foolish eldest son that feels more genuine than any forced romance.
Let me just say this upfront: the ending of this section had me absolutely fuming. Su Jinle has spent these chapters building something — a business, confidence, a relationship with her family that's actually healthy — and then in the last few pages, Gu Jingxiu and Yang Muqing show up and everything almost gets torn apart. The stakes here are deceptively simple on the surface: it's about a dress. But it's not. It's about whether Su Jinle will let herself be pulled back into the orbit of the people who defined her worth in her past life. Yang Muqing doesn't even ask — she commands. "Gu Jingxiu, go get it down for me!" She's treating Su Jinle's work like it's already hers, like Su Jinle has no right to refuse. And Gu Jingxiu? He moves toward the dress. He doesn't even look at Su Jinle first. He just... obeys. That's when she pushes him away. "Get lost!" This is the moment where the conflict crystallizes. It's not just about the dress anymore — it's about agency. If she gives in, even once, she's back in the same pattern: making things for other people, being told what to do, being invisible. The tension in that final scene is unbearable because we know what happens if she says yes. In her past life, she said yes to everything. And look where that got her. The author does something brilliant here — the conflict isn't resolved. We don't get to see what happens next. The chapter just ends on that moment of confrontation, and I was sitting there like... what do I do now? Do I read the next chapter immediately? Yes. Obviously yes.
Uhum. I believe in judging a book by its cover, and in WN case, I believe in judging a book by its cover and the first 10 chapters. Why? Well, the first ten better be good, or I won’t be bother reading ahead. Like let’s be fr, if the first chapter sucks, ain’t no one reading it. For this book, fk the chapter, I liked the synopsis. Maybe it’s my weird mind, but i took the line “and with his hoe” as a different thing hehe… Anyways, if my man ain’t planting his seeds… I mean, the first the ten chapters were really good. They were easy to read, which is my go to. I hate those books with big ass words smh. The concept is fun to me, love fArming stuff, so I may be a bit biased. The writing is also good, the world building seems fun.Overall, a very happy book, great change of pace from my darker reads.
20 chapters in and I fucking love the book, I've always loved kingdom building novel where the MC is a Prince, king or Emperor, also the MC is funny, ruthless and he's a child.Good work author, keep up the good work, you have my support.
This novel is an absolute masterpiece! From the very first page, I was completely captivated by the rich storytelling, vivid characters, and the intricate world the author has created. The plot is beautifully crafted, with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.The characters are so well-developed that they feel like real people—flawed, relatable, and deeply human. I found myself emotionally invested in their journeys, celebrating their triumphs and aching with their struggles. The protagonist, in particular, is a standout, with a voice that is both compelling and unforgettable. The writing itself is exquisite. The author has a way with words that paints scenes so vividly, it’s as if you’re watching a movie unfold in your mind. The pacing is perfect, balancing moments of tension with quieter, introspective scenes that add depth to the story. What I loved most about this novel is how it stayed with me long after I finished reading. It’s the kind of book that makes you think, feel, and reflect on life, love, and the human condition. Whether you’re a fan of [genre] or just looking for a story that will sweep you off your feet, this book is a must-read.I cannot recommend it enough—do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. You won’t regret it!
The author sure knows how to keep her readers engaged. All the best!
I'm not sure why I missed this hidden gem, but it's really good! The beginning is what hooked me, and I'm excited to see how the story unfolds. Keep going, author - don't give up!
Such an interesting novel with great chapters.
Hey everyone,I’m the author of this novel, and I’m excited to share my journey with you! While I may not have extensive experience in writing, I’ve poured my heart into crafting a story filled with action, adventure, and unforgettable characters. If you have any suggestions, questions, or feedback, I’d love to hear from you! Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Great story. Awesome world building. Interesting system. In depth characters. Writing style makes you feel invested. Hoping for an update.
the no romance sold me on this. also, poor mcm.he has to deal with and look after kids.
Shameless self review from Translator! Story can be a little slow at the start as MC is trying to come to terms with his pitiable past and accept himself for being who he is in the present. But once the ball gets rolling (around chapter 10 after the academy arc begins) the story speeds up significantly in pace and honestly becomes a very entertaining read.Romance isn't forced, the right amount of buildup is given for MC and his lovers to develop their feelings. If you've enjoyed stories such as Stealing Spree, My Three Wives are Beautiful Vampires, Villain Retirement, etc... I'm sure you'll enjoy this.
