Okay I need to talk about the moment Jiaojiao cuts off Zhaodi's hair. I literally gasped out loud. This girl had been clinging to that braid like it was the last proof she was still human, and then Jiaojiao just—snip. And her line, "That girl is already dead. From now on, you live for yourself. Forget men." I am not okay. This is the kind of moment that redefines a character's entire arc in one scene. But what really got me is the relationship between Jiaojiao and Fu Ting. Like, the way he immediately shuts down the urine thing? "A woman who's injured… her urine still works?" He's not even trying to be clever, he's just protecting her and making a ridiculous excuse on the spot. And earlier, when he's holding her while she sleeps and the boys are clinging to her arms—that's not performative sweetness, that's a man who genuinely worships her. Meanwhile Shen Junmei is over there calculating how to use Zhaodi's womb for face in the village, and it makes me want to throw the book at a wall. The worst part is Fu Jun. His own daughter. He literally tied her up and handed her over. And Shen Junmei—she raised Zhaodi and still participated in this. These are the kind of family dynamics that make you question everything about trust and loyalty. Zhaodi's line "my heart is bitter—I can't go on living" hit me so hard because she truly believed her father would save her. That betrayal cuts deeper than Pian Tou ever could.
I need to talk about Zhan Beiyuan because THIS MAN is trying his absolute hardest and it is the most adorable thing. Here's a prince who has never interacted with children in his life. He's stiff, awkward, searching for topics like "Have you had breakfast?" and "What do you like to do?" And the kids? They're just… melting. Momo likes reading. Mianmian likes martial arts. His childhood was the exact same things. Suddenly he's sitting there telling them stories about himself, getting more natural with every sentence. "Perhaps it was the wonder of blood ties"—the narrator even acknowledges it. But what I love is that the author doesn't make this instant bonding feel cheap. Zhan Beiyuan is genuinely at a loss. He has responsibility but not instinct. And Jiang Yunxi, of all people, is the one coaching HIM: "Use any spare time you have to spend more time with Momo and Mianmian. They are your children after all; you should learn how to be a father." Meanwhile, Jiang Chenyu is doing that thing where she curtsies and calls him "Your Highness" with watery eyes, and he looks at her like she's an inconvenience. The line where he calls her out—"shouldn't you, this fake daughter, leave Yingguo Gongfu?"—that wasn't just shade. That was a declaration of war wrapped in politeness. Madam Mu and Jiang Chenyu both just... shut down. Perfect. And Jiang Yunxi? She's cold, calculated, and completely unimpressed by his status. When he says he won't marry her, she smiles and says she has no intention of marrying him either. The power dynamic here is SO satisfying. She's not chasing him. She's not performing. She's just... existing, and that's somehow the most threatening thing to him.
The use of the system is amazing in this novel. The story seems to be a cliche in the start but it is quite unique and brilliant.
overall kinda average kind of novel in this app basically a more light hearted version of shadow slave with fantasy world building elements with an annoying horny undertone that happens for 50% of the novel from chapter 5 onwards other than that over all average nothing majorly good or bad
A fast-paced and gripping Xianxia novel. The protagonist, a betrayed saint reincarnated to seek revenge and restore immortality, navigates a unique cultivation system based on dangerous Forbidden Daos. His past lives add depth to the action and emotional conflicts. A great read for fans of epic fantasy and complex characters.
Nice novel nice characters . ?. but the author barely update . I would have give it 5stars rating if she update daily .
The start is interesting, one of few i cause say that stand out, good pacing, immersion is dangerous I almost finished all the uploaded chapters in one sitting
I’m loving the story so far its interesting and well written. I hope this is going to be a long one very much looking foward to new chapters
Author here just wanted say something, i will not reveal much where the story is headed but i assure you that i will try to improve upon it?
Amazing write-up ? Honestly hate the king tho? Like who does that to his own wife???
I think the author needs to work on the world building, so that readers's can fully understand the setting. However, the plot looks exceptional and even though I've only read the initial part of this book, I can already tell that it is an amazing plot. I'm really curious to see how Grace lives as Prince Quicke? cause I'm sure it would be a trilling read.
well very interesting storyline and it's like top tier providence hope the author keeps it engaging
