Okay so let me just say—this chapter had me wheezing. The whole Eleme escape sequence is peak chaos comedy. Yan Xingli literally screaming "Eleme! Eleme!!" through the neighborhood like a man who just lost his child, Xiao Lin showing up with the safety plan forgotten, the dog getting adopted by stray cats and a tattooed tough guy... this is not the dignified celebrity life he probably imagined. And then Xiao Hua chases after the dog too? The woman is a robot and she's out here playing hero. I love it. But the real plot move here is the candy thread. Yan Xingli gives two candies to Zheng Xiaofeng, who brings them home to his daughter Yueyue, and then suggests she go find Yuyu herself. That's a setup. That's the author planting a seed. You can feel the narrative gears turning—these two kids are about to collide and it's going to be beautiful. The show premise itself is also doing a lot of work: five guest groups, Yan Xingli's group is the youngest and most controversial, and the production team is already dealing with internet backlash before the first episode airs. The stakes are quietly rising even while everything feels light and funny.
There's this recurring theme running through these chapters that I can't stop thinking about: ownership. Who owns what? Who has the right to what? And what happens when the powerful try to take what doesn't belong to them? The dowry is the central symbol here. The Zhaos seized Bai Qianqian's dowry when she was too sick to resist — literally rummaging through it looking for recipes. They stole it, and now they're trying to steal her knowledge too. But Bai Qianqian's response is brilliant because she turns their own logic against them. By claiming the recipes came from her maiden family (the Bai family), she makes it impossible for them to claim them without also admitting they stole her dowry and have no right to her family's property. The recipes themselves are symbolic too. They represent autonomy. In a world where a woman's value is tied to her marriage and her family, Bai Qianqian has something that belongs entirely to her — skills, knowledge, the ability to create value from nothing. The Zhaos can take her dowry, they can lock her out of the house, they can spread rumors — but they cannot take the recipes because they live in her head. "My mother knew you'd try to bully me, which is why she never wrote them down. She was protecting me from people exactly like you!" That line is huge. It reframes everything. The mother's foresight becomes a kind of armor. The unwritten recipes are a metaphor for knowledge that cannot be confiscated — unlike land, unlike dowry, unlike physical property. It's portable. It's internal. It's free. And then there's the winter melon. Auntie Liu bringing it, Bai Qianqian paying her fairly, the candied winter melon becoming another product, another source of income. This is about building something from scratch — taking humble ingredients and transforming them into value. It's a metaphor for Bai Qianqian herself: she's taking the scraps of her situation and making something worthwhile. The silver pouch the driver hands her? That's not just money. It's proof. Proof that she's independent, that she's successful, that the Zhaos' attempts to control her have backfired spectacularly. Every villager watching that transaction is seeing something they didn't expect — a woman who doesn't need them, who doesn't need the Zhao family, who is building her own world one batch of cakes at a time.
The book has a good story lines and it makes a person keep wanting to read more unfortunately it is short.I hope the Author next writing a another should be considerate and write a bit long one however the Author is good in story writing. It would be so good to have more Authors who write about rural to urban stories, where we get clear pictures and story lines with inspiration. Bravo Author, the story is really good to read, I would recommend anyone to read it.
i liked the first book, and i was really disappointed that you stopped it, but im more than happy to read a new one with better improvements ! I hope you won't disappoint us ! good luck ! and thanks again for rewriting!
It can be a five star but you update your novels like once a week so that’s killing you. But yeah your stories are good but as mention above you update stability isn’t that great. Keep up the good work hopefully in the future you find more time for your novels. I know this isn’t a main source of income so you may not have time for novels but good luck .
Story is developing quite well. There are a lot of small mysteries that the author has sprinkled throughout each chapter that has the potential to develop into interesting plots. Writing quality is good and error-free.
bro just keep yapping about the same thing
I am one of the earliest readers of this novel and so far I am really enjoying reading this book. Chapters are written quite well without any apparent grammatical mistakes. Since the book is new so I cant say anything about how the storyline will continue but I hope this will be one of the best books out there. Keep up the good work author. Good luck.
Very promising. More muscle brain please and thank you!
Just got to chapter 100 living it so far. A good blend of the time spent in and out of the game
I like how your story going, ?? it' show in future your story provide us more fantasy, mystery and power of characters supernatural chills. This novel delivers a adventure with a cursed coin, Spooky tales and hidden dangers.
This novel is written very well with no time wasted on over describing, whilst producing vivid descriptions that really add the MC's world and his predicament.I really like how the story picks up from the first chapter and progression is made rather quickly.Great job, author!
