To be honest, I have to admit that the book was actually quite enjoyable. However, the romantic aspect took a backseat as it was mostly a subplot. There wasn't any significant romantic development until the very last moments of the final chapter! The characters basically functioned as cool friends or teammates throughout the story, and their relationship suddenly advanced to a love confession in the summarized scene when she ran into his arms. The male lead's reaction was predictable, and they ended up together, getting married, and that was the conclusion.
Despite the lackluster ending, the story itself had its merits. I found the protagonist's constant vulnerability somewhat annoying, which I guess aligns with the book's title, "White Lotus." Nevertheless, the rushed ending with a hasty happily-ever-after left a sour taste. I'd still probably recommend it, but with the understanding that it might not meet everyone's expectations for a well-developed romance.
The novel is exceptional, thanks to its well-paced storyline, engaging plot development, and the characters' growth that draws readers to support the main character despite the significant misunderstandings and challenges. I would undoubtedly give it a full 10 out of 10 rating. - Kazu
One of the greatest novels I've ever come across! ????? I'm currently on chapter 805 and I just can't get enough! ?? The story has captured my heart completely. ? Reading it is an absolute delight. Haha, don't form judgments about the main character (ML) solely based on the first few chapters; you might miss out on a truly captivating character if you do. ? Give it a chance as it unfolds even more beautifully later on.
