The pacing in these chapters is absolutely ruthless and I respect it. Let me walk through the structure because it's doing something really clever. Chapter starts with the livestream—light, almost comedic with the PK confrontation. He Zheng roasts the bully, both get banned, and you think okay this is a fun little scene, right? Then Li Ru calls and the tone shifts immediately. Don't meet him. Don't get fooled. The streaming world isn't clean. And then the Top Supporter sends a picture of a dress and He Zheng powers off his phone. That's a hard stop. The reader is left hanging and He Zheng is clearly avoiding something. Then CHAPTER BREAK and we're on set. The transition is brutal—no warning, just fluorescent lights and real slaps. The author doesn't ease you into it. One minute you're watching a livestream roast, the next minute this man is getting his face hit repeatedly by a famous actor who can't be bothered to trim his nails. And the pacing within the scene itself is masterful. The director says two slaps. The actor does one and says I forgot. Then two more, harder. Then the last one comes like a gusting storm. The prose itself gets heavier, more urgent, matching the physical violence. And then the aftermath—He Zheng treating his wound, the phone ringing, the Top Supporter calling at 3 AM, the dream sequence that shatters and reforms into the trash can image. The structure here is circular. He starts the chapter alone, connects with someone, gets hurt, pushes them away, and ends up back where he started but worse. The 4AM Mexico detail at the end is the perfect button—quiet, almost mundane, but it changes everything.
Okay so let me just start by saying: the scene where Lu Lincheng is scrolling through his own fans shipping his wife with other men is one of the most deliciously tense character moments I've read in a long time. The author didn't even need to write a single line of dialogue for us to feel his irritation. He just... scrolls. And then gives this sharp, heavy snort. That's it. That's the whole scene. And yet I could feel his entire body language through that one sound. What's fascinating is how the author uses his fans as a mirror. They're HIS fans—their profile pictures are all of him—and yet they're fawning over Liang Yan with Yan Zhun and Xu Jiafan. The assistant even notices this and thinks, 'What a surreal experience must it be, as a man placed on a pedestal, to watch your not-so-loving wife get shipped with other men by your own fans.' And then the author adds this little visual joke about a 'faint green glow flickering' above Lu Lincheng's head. I literally laughed out loud. But here's what really got me: Lu Lincheng doesn't yell. He doesn't even seem angry about the unfollow itself. He just says 'let's meet and talk.' That calm, almost indifferent tone is so much more unsettling than any outburst could be. It's the calm of a man who's already made up his mind about something, and he's coming to tell you about it. Which, as we later discover, is the divorce conversation. The fact that he's so composed while his fans are literally celebrating his wife with other men tells you everything about how this marriage has been running—two people orbiting each other, neither willing to be the one to change the trajectory first.
I think I know what’s going on… but also, I have no idea what’s going on. ?? Will stick around to find out! The suspense is great, and the characters are really intriguing—especially the little girl! ??
The quality of the writing is definitely above average. The world building is simply short of amazing and the characters are very interesting. I just hope the author doesn't slack and keep putting in their best.
Author here!ofc i will give my novel 5 star ?You all can take this review as Q/A BOXi will try to reply as soon as possible
Not really much of an expert in critiques, but so far I've liked what I'm reading. Though I just hope the MC doesn't get too much exposure with all the stuff he's been up to, cause that'll ruin the whole background character mysterious type get up.But all in all I like it. The story is good for me and I hope the author continues on with publishing more chapters. Hopefully soon ☺️
Yo!It's Kira here. I recently started actually writing this. Never before have I enjoyed writing a series this much. I trust you will too. The character moments and fights are honestly my favourite parts of the entire thing. Alright, review and comment. Enjoy your read. Until next time-Kira
I love this novel!!!Well-written and the strong protagonist is like none otherDefinitely recommending this novel
It’s a good relaxing read . It’s not some high quality adventure story with twist and turns, but a straight OP MC sight seeing your while farming enemies . Its very relaxing and good change of pace . Romance a little bit forced in 2 sentences and. It happening for more then that. Still I enjoy it . Good change .
