On the surface, this is a transmigration system novel where a guy has to mess up the protagonist shou's love life so he can go home. But read a little deeper and there's this haunting question running through everything: what does it mean to be trapped in a story that isn't yours? Shu Xian is dead. He was an orphan who worked himself to death trying to repay an orphanage dean. He got bound to a system and sent into a novel as a 'vicious side character.' He has no real agency — his entire existence in this world is defined by a task list. Meanwhile, Li Wu seems to have lived this exact scenario before, where he was 'an object for those men to fight over' and 'they did not love him. They only wanted to compete and show off their strength.' Both characters are trapped, just in different ways. The white clothing motif is interesting too. Shu Xian keeps wearing white — white cashmere sweater, white shirt — and Li Wu notices every detail. White usually symbolizes purity, but here it feels almost like a mask. Shu Xian is performing goodness while planning to torment this boy. Li Wu sees through it but plays along because he has his own agenda. And the refrigerator scene — Shu Xian backed against the fridge, Li Wu wrapping his arms around him, saying 'Brother, tell me about your worries.' The kitchen, the domestic setting, the closeness — it's intimate but also claustrophobic. This story keeps asking: who is actually in control here? And the answer keeps shifting every time you think you've figured it out.
Okay so I need to talk about the plot twists in these chapters because holy shit. The way Qin Shuya just casually drops that the old madam's Buddhist shrine had an adoption certificate inside? That was such a deliberate misdirection. She wants Shen Nian to think that's the big secret, but the real evidence is in the archives. And then the fire? That wasn't just destruction for destruction's sake. It was surgical. Someone burned only the back shelves, only the oldest case files, with a window already cracked open to feed the flames exactly where they wanted them. That level of premeditation is terrifying. But the real plot bomb drops when Shen Nian finds that envelope. Duty roster, delivery room log, adoption application with the surname Gu, and a handwritten note from Su Lan herself. The fact that her mother is ALIVE and left a note? That changes the entire game. And then Zero shows up on the screen saying "We finally found you." The layers here are insane. Every time I thought the plot was pointing one way, it pivoted. The old madam poisoning, the archive fire, the cyber attack on the company system — these aren't random events. Shen Nian literally pieces it together: "These aren't isolated incidents. They're happening one after another." The plot is basically a house of cards and someone is systematically knocking them down while Shen Nian is trying to rebuild them. And the Gu Chengshan connection? Lin Man's jealousy? The Laundering money through overseas projects? I'm sitting here trying to map out every possible alliance and betrayal and my brain hurts. The narrative structure here is doing something really smart — it's giving us fragments of truth and making us assemble them alongside Shen Nian. We're not being fed the whole picture. We're being given pieces of a puzzle while someone is actively trying to burn the box.
Just read the first chapter(the only one thats out for now), and the written is very well, loves that it has both action, mystery and has his emotional sides in the chapter.hoping to see more on next chapters.

I think so far i like the concept of the story, it feels very peaceful and calm (although i only read up to chapter 10) the pizza section caught me off guard but in a good way. The writing is also pretty decent coming from someone whom english is third language. Overall pretty solid start.

I think its a good story with an engaging male character also he is ruthless and develops every chapter but still, I think author needs to focus on a little refined writing that way I think it will be better for story in long term still I really liked it waiting for future updates
