Let's talk about Qin Ziheng's relationships because this text is absolutely RICH with them and the author doesn't waste a single interaction. First, the grandfather-grandson bond. This isn't just "they loved each other." This is a man who saved every single coin by foraging chestnuts and collecting bottles, who smoothed each note flat before giving it to his grandson, who called him "Bao Wa'er" with such tenderness. And Qin Ziheng? He couldn't even speak when his grandfather asked him to deliver the money. "Every time, it cut Qin Ziheng to the heart, choked him so he couldn't get out a single word." That's not just grief—that's the weight of knowing someone sacrificed everything for you and you couldn't do anything in return. Then there's Qin Ming. Oh, Qin Ming. The moment Qin Ziheng walks out the door and Qin Ming offers him a cigarette with that ingratiating smile? Qin Ziheng just walks past him. Doesn't stop. Doesn't acknowledge. And Qin Zili, who used to sneer and curse, now just stares in silence because he's too scared to provoke the guy who drives an Audi A8L Horch. These are the relatives who abandoned him, who clearly resented him, and the author shows their true colors through these tiny gestures—the cigarette offer, the forced smiles, the不敢 (dare not) to speak anymore. But then there's Qin Liang and Liang Jinlan. They're the ones who took him in, who stayed up middle of the night steaming glutinous rice, who feel guilty even letting him carry fruit because his suit is too nice. And Grandma Liang—gaunt, hunched, missing all her teeth—she's the only one who dares to touch him and say "Bao Wa'er, you're back." That one line carries more emotion than entire novels. And Qin Ziwen! The cousin who just grins foolishly and gets an iPhone as a gift, with the gentle reminder about focusing on the college entrance exam. This kid is clearly the next generation Qin Ziheng wants to see succeed. The contrast between those who loved him unconditionally and those who only care about what he can give them is just... chef's kiss. The author never once says "Qin Ziheng felt betrayed by his relatives." We just SEE it in the way he walks past Qin Ming without stopping.
The worldbuilding in this passage is subtle but effective. We get Jin'an's morning market described as 'always lively' — it grounds us in a specific place with a sense of daily rhythm. The teahouse where Jiang Heng waits for Liu Feng's report feels like a natural pause in the narrative, a breather before the tension ramps up again. But what really stands out to me is the interior space of the Jiang residence. We have multiple locations mentioned — Yunzhu Yuan where Zhao Xian lives, Haitang Ju which is apparently much larger and associated with the elder brother and sister-in-law, and Jiang Heng's own courtyard. The fact that Zhao Xian has maids stationed at both Yunzhu Yuan and Haitang Ju shows the scale and complexity of this household. And Jiang Heng's appearance when he enters — peacock-blue robe, jade hairpin, red silk threads in his ponytail — is painted with enough visual detail that I can actually see him. The author isn't just telling us he's handsome, they're showing us through specific costume details that signal his status and personality.
The way this author describes the Princess Mansion and the wedding day rituals is genuinely cinematic. Let me paint you a picture: Yan Peifeng in a dark red round-collared robe, which the text specifically notes "added a touch of warmth to his usually cool and noble demeanor." That single detail does so much work—it tells us his usual appearance is cold and distant, but the red robe softens him visually, and Shen Yunying's bright smile when she sees him creates this whole visual contrast. Then there's Shen Yunying in her pomegranate-flower horse-face skirt, described as looking "like a blooming peony, radiant and delicate." The color palette here is all reds and golds and warm tones, which makes sense for a wedding day but the author goes beyond just listing expensive clothes. The ancestral hall scene is particularly vivid—Yan Peifeng's face "softened with a faint smile" as he pauses before the memorial tablets, and Shen Yunying notices that "his gaze upon the tablets was even more tender than when he looked at her." That image hit me like a truck. The palace scene in Kunning Palace has this towering, imposing atmosphere that actually shifts—when they leave, "the towering, imposing palace walls had lightened considerably" from Shen Yunying's perspective. The author uses physical space to reflect emotional states. And the Yan family's modest gifts of silver notes and land deeds versus Grandmother Yan's personal jade bracelet—that contrast tells you everything about where each family member stands emotionally. The worldbuilding here is subtle but incredibly effective.
A completely biased 5-star review because I loved the author's last two works! I'll edit this review after reaching 100 chapters
Very very interestingPlease do quick updates
Every chapter from this novel leaves me wanting more. The world-building is fantastic, and the story just keeps getting better. I’m so excited to see where it goes—highly recommend giving it a read
I like it Is so nice and amazing please continue writing and make all the chapter as soon as u can ...??????
Early Review - 10 CHAPTERSPS: I barely leave a review, especially if the story still has a low number of chapters, but I decided to do this because of one reason–this novel strangely piques and continues to pique my interest. Here's why:I appreciate the author for telling in his own shameless review that this will be semi-slow, which after reading the first ten chapters, really feel like it.However, here's the thing...Like with every chapter, I feel like it's written in a way that contains a "subliminal message" or heavy and deep foreshadowing.I dunno if I'm overthinking things tho lol.One more thing: I noticed the MC, Aeon... the way the author writes him seems like he barely shows his thoughts in these chapters, and the story continues to be centralized to the girl/s around him...I wonder if it's intentional, but I'm looking forward to the MCs-focused main pov.*5/5 keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to this story... It's just... It's strange, lmao. This isn't a typical r18 novel and requires heart and brain to read. It's like modern, futuristic dystopia...This is it for now... let's see where this goes!!I hope you'll upload more chapters soon!!
This is a xianxia inspired novel taking elements from modern day system rpg elements. Very promising start and the grammar is good, I hope the quality remains the same
Reading and fell in love with the characters, especially the MC -Terumi Kuro, he's quirky and funny, tsundere (just a cutesy bit). This is heavily light novel prose, which is quite a fresh in Webnovel demographic in general. The author went to quite a great length with the character interactions, which I pretty much enjoyed. The dialog and joke came so naturally. I felt like they were really alive, even sentient, Hehe. For those they loved the action/magic, reading till chapter 5! This is where those began to shine. And then stories are getting more intense and ultimately more FUN! Please give it a read if you love slice-of-life, slow burn, emotional depth, and MC driven plotline!
It's gud, has a good start, but u didn't expect the system AI deleting itself, and it's my first time reading slow progression as the beginning in a system book, bout overall it stand's out different from the rest, and thinking of how he'll turn out is intriguing, it's worth the time spent
Hello everyone as the author of this novel I would like to tell how my story will progress and take the opportunity to answer future questions. There will be no harem, smut, so I hope I don't read comment who ask if the MC has any romantic relationships or tell me to include them. Well, if your goal in reading this novel is to look for an impassive character who is obsessed with a quest for power and domination then you've come to the right place. I also think that my story will be quite slow since I plan to write a maximum of 700 chapters, so I would like you to know that when you start reading to better adapt since the story will not progress very quickly. I also plan to introduce several gods in my novel but I will not explain their story because it will be very boring. I can just say that they will be fairly well-known gods that you already know about so I will focus more on the development of their different interactions.Thank you !! Keep reading and support my novel.
