Okay so Zhuo Chang'an. Let me just say this first: the author clearly has a type and it is devastatingly handsome thin boys with cold exteriors who are secretly soft for the protagonist. I am HERE for it. The moment he steps in to protect Zhuo Ling from Xiaohu, I was already shipped. He doesn't just defend her—he physically puts himself between her and the threat, grabs his wrist, shoves him back. This is a boy who has clearly been carrying emotional weight way beyond his fourteen or fifteen years. And then he picks her up, rubs her forehead swelling, asks if it hurts with actual concern in his voice. My heart. Just my heart. But what really sold me is the Second Aunt scene. She literally pinches Zhuo Ling's cheek and leaves a red mark, and Chang'an's reaction isn't just anger—it's protective fury mixed with this quiet tenderness when he wipes Zhuo Ling's drool and tells her not to play with Xiaohu anymore. The contrast between how he treats the village women (icy, dismissive) and how he treats her (gentle, patient) is everything. And Zhuo Ling's internal monologue about him being ridiculously handsome while simultaneously using him as a pillow and accidentally kissing his collarbone? I died. I actually died. The fact that she's an apocalypse survivor with twenty years of being single and this is her first time being carried by a boy? The author is cruel and I love it. Their dynamic is already set up perfectly—she's pretending to be foolish, he clearly suspects something but chooses to care anyway, and there's this underlying current of protection that's going to be so much fun to watch develop.
The writing could be improved a bit, in terms of like the spelling mistakes i have seen(i could only remember 1 rn; in chapter 3 or 4 idk) and the asymptomatic writing which drives the reading into deep complexities is good but overdone, or should i say, its noticeable (and it kinda shouldn’t be, it should be more natural); and the genre of the complex wording you use is also repetitive, i felt. The 5th chapter made me feel it for sure; i really loved it, that’s what i would say your biggest strength is, try to implement the same highs and lows in your other chapters in a more holistic manner, sometimes it can be done by giving hints or a little bit of anxiety at play; or should i say, make the people remember your chapters distinctively. As so they can easily narrate what happens in which chapter and so on; rn i can only talk about the first 2 and the 5 th(with excitement and with a distinctive feel about these chapters) out of my mind without rereading it.Anyway, huge respect for you my G?.I wanted to be as harsh of a critic as i could be, because i saw you asking for some criticism and in general i don’t like the Indian influence in my reading but this novel takes the inspiration from the mythological aspects really well (in such a way that doesn’t really make me cringe) so thats something to look up to.
The tension between Odessa and the mysterious Alpha king is breathtaking. Not to mention the tension from the ongoing war. Can't wait to see how this story unfolds.
nice book author,it so intriguing and the character development is top notch
Good story start. Nice characters, funny! It has a lot of good descriptions and the story has a lot of potential. It’s fun to read and well written.
I don't want it to end , however the character is still lost and so am I , the introduction of New characters without understanding the ones already involved in the story is mildly infuriating.I don't understand French so I could do with a little more translation.Overall the story is captivating and I want to really know what happens next.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Mandatory 5-star self review from the Author. Any questions you want to ask can be asked here or at the end of the prologue chapter since I still wish that you read at least the prologue before forming any kind of opinion at all. That aside, I'll still welcome your questions here as well!
This is a very interesting story... i'd love to see what happens next.
I really enjoy reading this story. I love the main character's strong personality and how he approaches every issue. He makes you want to cheer him on. The storyline is fun, and I look forward to every new chapters.
I like the way we get to experience the villains' side of the story. The characters are well developed and interesting. Some are funny, and others can be cruel. Love it.
