There's this one line that keeps haunting me: "Youth was wonderful. Sometimes it made people fearless. Sometimes it made them reckless. Most of the time, it made them both." It feels like the thesis statement for the whole novel. Lin Mo is twenty-one, she's traveling alone to places she's only read about in poetry, and she's doing it because something inside her decided she couldn't wait anymore. But the altitude metaphor is everywhere. Litang is four thousand meters above sea level. Every breath is effort. And yet she drags her suitcase through the streets, face pale, unable to stop looking around. The thin air mirrors this feeling of reaching for something that should be beautiful but also makes you struggle. Danzeng's story is the same metaphor in reverse — he's at sea level in his luxury apartment, surrounded by everything he worked for, and he's the one who feels strangely lonely. The prayer flags are another symbol I can't stop thinking about. They're everywhere in these chapters, fluttering in the wind, carrying prayers with every gust. The author doesn't over-explain them. They're just there, part of the landscape, like fate itself — present but invisible. And Lin Mo's obsession with Tsangyang Gyatso's poetry? That's not just backstory, it's a thematic key. This is a girl who fell in love with a place through words before she ever saw it with her own eyes. The novel seems to be asking: what happens when the poetry meets reality? When the dream becomes real and you're standing in a valley between towering cliffs, breathing thin air, wondering if it's enough? I think that's the real journey here. Not the bus rides or the hotpot, but this moment of arrival.
I need to talk about Xi Xingye because this man is a treasure and I am here for it. First, the wound-tending scene. He's treating her injury and his internal monologue is just "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form" repeated like a Buddhist mantra to keep himself from losing it. His hands are shaking. His breath is heavy. He's clearly affected by her and he's fighting it with literally a Buddhist chant. And then he gets caught blushing and she drops the virgin line and he storms upstairs. The dream sequence that follows is absolutely perfect character work. He wakes up sweating, immediately blames the heat, and then — the comedy gold — he has to hide a wet sheet from the entire household while Shen Qingci is just watching him like "are you okay?" and he snaps "I don't wet the bed!" like a defensive ten-year-old. But here's what I think is really going on: Xi Xingye is a man who has never had to be vulnerable. He's powerful, wealthy, feared. And Shen Qingci sees through all of it. She calls him out on everything — the blushing, the virginity, the kidney deficiency, the ridiculous outfit he wears to face his stepmother. She doesn't flinch. And that terrifies him more than any enemy ever could. The moment that got me though was when he says "You wouldn't understand" about the nightclub project and then immediately explains himself anyway. He wants her to understand. He's just too proud to ask directly. And Shen Qingci? She just closes her eyes and naps. She's not impressed, not intimidated, not playing games. She's genuinely unbothered, which is the one thing Xi Xingye can't process. Their dynamic is: he's a flustered mess around her, she's a stone wall, and the tension between those two energies is absolutely electric.

This is the story of a girl that is playing the best '2-pair' (Certainly not the best, but far from the worst) hand that was dealt to her considering she wasn't allowed to fold. With a loving family and seemingly ordinary blessing, this reincarnation into the same world, but very different house shows undeniable heart. The world building is one of the strongest aspects of this novel. You are taken for the same ride as the young girl we follow through all the twist, turns, and delightful misunderstandings that we can all enjoy while smiling wryly while knowing all the major crises (At least in her childhood) are adorable little bumps in the road. One cannot help but wonder how our main character, her brother, and her entire family will continue to grow even at this early stage. The pacing of the story is indeed extremely slow, but why would you need high adventure when to a child, offending that brat of a Prince is just as major as facing a hundred foes?As for the author's style, 'developing' is the best term. One can easily see the tweaks and adjustments made to the style as the author goes. There is clearly room for improvement, but since the author is going without an editor (I assume) these things will only improve with time, practice, and carefully thought out criticism from the reader base. That's not to say it's bad, on the contrary, especially when making the thoughts of a little girl come alive in your head, I can almost see the manga pages draw themselves in many places.I commend the author for the stability in their updates and am looking forward to reading this story more and more, which I hope can be taken as my highest of praise. My only advice is keep writing and keep honing yourself. You have a gift for story telling, so please tell your story.
This book don't have same cliche plot so far! I thought it's gonna be same loser son in law but he do rocks! I like his sense of timely counter joke! Nice to see understand mother in law and father in law!?

TL:DR, read it bruh!Mr_LonelyOne delivers a thrilling dark fantasy cultivation novel with The Tale of the Demonic Sword God, where revenge, power, and fate intertwine in a gripping narrative.Plot & StorytellingThe story follows Mo Wuyuan, a man betrayed by the so-called righteous sects and left for dead. His transformation from despair into a force of destruction, aided by the Crimson Veil, is both compelling and chilling. The novel excels at portraying his descent (or rise) into a demonic path, using forbidden cultivation techniques and eldritch alchemy to reshape his destiny. Each chapter maintains a steady pace, with action-packed sequences and intricate world-building that keep readers hooked.Character DevelopmentMo Wuyuan is a protagonist who commands attention. His tragic past, white-haired transformation, and ruthless determination make him a fascinating anti-hero. He isn't just another villainous cultivator, his quest for vengeance feels personal and justified, making readers both fear and root for him. The supporting characters, though limited in early chapters, add depth to his journey, especially those from the hypocritical sects he seeks to destroy.World-Building & Cultivation SystemThe novel introduces a unique cultivation system blending demonic arts, life-altering alchemy, and reality-warping formations. The concept of the Crimson Veil as a sentient artifact that fuses with his soul is intriguing and adds a supernatural horror element. The setting, particularly the frozen wastelands and ancient ruins, creates an atmosphere of desolation and rebirth.Writing Style & PacingMr_LonelyOne’s writing is immersive, balancing vivid descriptions with intense action. The pacing is strong, rarely dragging, though some early exposition could be streamlined. The fight scenes are brutal and satisfying, capturing the essence of a revenge-driven cultivation tale.Final ThoughtsIf you enjoy dark cultivation novels like Reverend Insanity or Warlock of the Magus World, The Tale of the Demonic Sword God is a must-read. Mo Wuyuan’s journey into the abyss of power and revenge is exhilarating, and with only 10 chapters so far, it holds immense potential. I eagerly await the next developments in this ruthless saga, OMFG!? Recommended for fans of dark fantasy, anti-hero protagonists, and cultivation revenge stories.
My friend is the author of this book i just downloaded this app to read his book and honestly saying this book is very good i enjoy the dynamic between jia yi and joshua at chapter 2. I'll stay tune to the next chapters.
A very good novel. interesting to read indeed. It's actually a bit too horror and tragic and you can feel the tragedy just by looking at it.
