Okay, let's talk about Liu Meiling for a second because WOW. This chapter is basically her entire personality shift in one explosive scene. The braised pork moment? Chef's kiss. Her kids are standing there accusing HER of being selfish for eating meat she bought with her own money, and she just snaps. I love that she doesn't go gentle into that good night — she literally throws off the quilt and comes at them barefoot. That image of a mother in her nightgown, barefoot on the kang, swinging fists at her own children? That's not a scene, that's a painting. But what really gets me is Li Baoqing. This is the son she poured ALL her love into after Bao Mei died. She never refused him anything. And yet here he is, calling her out for not visiting his dad in the hospital while he was supposedly studying. The audacity. Liu Meiling slapping him wasn't just physical — it was the first time she saw him as a person instead of a vessel for her maternal devotion. "Dad needs tending, but I'm not a person?" — that line broke me. And then there's Qin Xiangru, this quiet suffering sister-in-law who gets manipulated into giving up her last bill. Liu Meiling taking that money and then later swapping the chicken soup portions at the hospital — that's not kindness, that's strategic. She's learning to play the game. The fact that she pinches a feather out of the soup and rubs it behind Qin Xiangru's back to make it look like more chicken? That's a mother who's done being naive.
I need to talk about this one moment that I think is the thematic key to everything. Yinxing is picking wild vegetables, she sees wild green onions, and she thinks about 'wild green onions scrambled with eggs'—and then the text says: 'no sooner had this dish popped into her mind than it felt as though the tip of her tongue had already tasted this exact flavor, leaving her a bit puzzled. Have I eaten this before?' She can't remember. She shakes her head and moves on. But I CAN'T stop thinking about this. What does it mean? Is she remembering a past life? A forgotten childhood? Or is the forest itself somehow feeding her memories through the plants she consumes? The chestnut tree giving her shell-less chestnuts at 9% contamination—these aren't just plot devices, they're symbols of something older and deeper at work. Yinxing has this unconscious connection to the forest that goes beyond survival. She talks to trees like they're family. She climbs walls not just to escape confinement but because the forest is CALLING her. And then there's Zero watching from the shadows asking 'Yinxing, who on earth are you?'—that's the author basically screaming the theme at us. This story isn't just about surviving in a contaminated world. It's about what connects us to the earth when everything else has been stripped away. The wild green onions and eggs represent something lost—normalcy, memory, a life before the collapse. And Yinxing tasting it without remembering eating it? That's the ghost of a world that used to be, haunting the present.

A work in progress, if you have any ideea tell me about
I never thought I could read a story like this. although I only read a few chapters. but i enjoy it so much..really enjoyed the flow of the story. it makes me want to read it again. good job authors. i really like it ?❤
The writing quality is just it. I'm not quite sure what the plot is yet, maybe bcs I'm slow but I know I'll catch up soon?
I was on search for wsa25 webnovels to study. And I came across yours author. I like how you styled the system text. Or how you genuinely read about bees and their biology, kudos to that. World building lacks slightly, doesn't make us feel like the mc is actually small compared to other giants there (so far). Everything else is mwahh?
I found this book very interesting to read. It’s full of twist and adventure with a mature theme.I can’t wait to continue reading this book to find out if Axel and Maria get together and also about the Cousin Luis and his dark outcome.
Honest review: In my opinion, you did a great job with the story development and world-building. However, some parts are hard to read. I'm not talking about the writing quality, but the names. I understand that you want to incorporate Filipino culture into the story, but for readers who aren't Filipino, some of the names are difficult to read. If you could adjust that part in later chapters, it would be better. I’ll keep reading — I’ve finished 8 chapters so far.Glory! x'D
I just finished reading chapter one and it was a fun read. I will definitely read this till the last chapter.
