"Though I'm not from some grand noble family, I am still the daughter of an official... You want his daughter to become a slave or a maid?" — this line absolutely wrecked me. Like, I was already feeling for Wanyao but then she drops that and I just... okay. The whole body-swap premise is wild, but what really got me is how she's not even asking for romance or love. She's asking for survival. She's asking not to be buried in a mass grave like a common servant. And Gu Zhuo, this arrogant prince who can barely climb a mountain in her body, ends up offering her exactly that — not because he's some softie, but because she basically laid out her options: death, a nunnery, or his concubine. And she chose the third one like it was the best deal she'd ever get. The moment where he wipes her tears with his own face — her face, technically — that's when it hit me. He finally sees himself through her eyes and it breaks something open. "I told you, don't use my face to make such an effeminate expression" but then he does it anyway and she cries and he has to comfort her using the face she's terrified of losing forever. The CP tension here isn't some slow-burn romance, it's two people who are literally living each other's lives and slowly realizing how little they understood the other's pain. And Wanyao's little moment in the carriage, smiling at her own sleeping face, thinking about having a child to rely on — that's not greed, that's a woman who's been told her whole value is her chastity and she's just trying to find any version of safety she can grab.
The pacing in these chapters is something else. Let me trace it. You start with a relatively calm scene — Prince Zhao at a gathering, spotting Gu Ningxi on the street. There's political exposition through Wei Fan's dialogue, which could easily bog down a narrative, but it's delivered in a relaxed social setting so it flows naturally. Then you cut to Gu Ningxi and Meng Ting doing something incredibly mundane: looking at property. Buying a house. This is the kind of scene that could feel like filler in a lesser novel, but here it does three things at once — it develops their relationship, it grounds the story in economic reality (land prices rising, new families establishing themselves), and it gives Gu Ningxi a reason to be out on the street where she'll encounter Prince Zhao again. The street encounter itself is brief but loaded. A few lines of dialogue, an awkward moment, and then she escapes into her carriage. And then — and this is where the pacing really earns its keep — the chapter doesn't resolve. It doesn't give us a clean ending. Instead, we get Gu Ningxi at home, hiding her notes from her mother, analyzing the dream's implications. Then a completely different scene: Emperor Mingde and Prince Zhao playing chess. Casual, almost domestic. And then Prince Zhao going to Lizheng Hall — the empty hall of his dead mother — where the atmosphere shifts from political maneuvering to something quieter, almost mournful. The chapter structure moves from public to private, from political to personal, from the bustling street to the silent palace hall. Each transition feels inevitable, and by the time we're sitting with Prince Zhao in his mother's preserved room, the emotional weight of everything that came before has accumulated into something genuinely heavy.
Let me just say—this author knows how to paint a scene with words. The moment Wen Yunsheng reaches the top of the spiral staircase and looks up to meet Qin Yanchuan's eyes is one of those cinematic shots that lives in my head rent-free. The crystal chandelier above casts light on his sharply defined face, adding 'a touch of false gentleness compared to the daytime.' False gentleness. That phrase does so much work. It tells us that even his beauty is weaponized, even the lighting in this house seems designed to make him look more untouchable. And then there's the kitchen scene—Wen Yunsheng rummaging through the fridge like a ghost in her own home, trying to avoid him, filling her cup to the brim and grabbing milk like she needs armor. The servant's voice from the living room, the Bentley driving away into the night, Aunt Zhao's casual explanation that he 'only came to pick up some documents.' She's hiding in her own kitchen, and he's a shadow passing through his own house. Both of them strangers in the same space. The family dinner scene is equally vivid—the private room that's more like a banquet hall, the women gathered around the Qin Matriarch, Qin Yanchuan standing near the door in an undone shirt, looking 'more relaxed than during the day.' But relaxed doesn't mean warm. He's still holding a wine glass like a prop, still performing the role of the family patriarch. The contrast between the warm wontons Aunt Jin made and the ice between these two siblings is something the author never has to explain because the scenes do it for them.
A pretty good anti hero novel.....,. ...
Base on what I have read so far, the story has a refreshing twist on the usual college romance trope. I like the premise of Frida, someone who’s so focused on her studies that she’s almost out of touch with her own desires, getting pulled into a secret note game.It adds a bit of intrigue and spice to her otherwise predictable life. The tension with Laziel, her former best friend turned enemy (and now potential love interest), is a trope I personally enjoy when done well. The push and pull between past closeness and current animosity can lead to some great emotional moments, especially if both characters are forced to confront old wounds. With that being said, the growth of this story really comes down to the execution. If the characters feel real and the notes build up to something meaningful, I could see this being an addictive read. If it leans too much into clichés without enough emotional depth, it could lose some impact. Overall, I think the concept has a lot of potential, keep up, the marvelous work. Author!
I wanna see more of Elliot! But rn. So good! Riven is hilarious, and I agree with most of the readers who say that all of us will DEFINITELYYYYY be like Riven if we transmigrate!

Bro. There are so many problems in your writing. I am just going to point them out for you. No hate. I know how hard it is to write and make up a story.*Suggestions1. Use a writing format.(Ever heard of paragraphs. Ever heard of punctuations. Ever heard of dialogues.)2. Make a cover image.(Use PixAi to generate images)3. Write a better Synopsis.4. Use proper Chapter Title.*Bad Stuff1. Bad writing.2. Bad format. (It's a Composition and not a story)3. No punctuations.4. No Dialogues.(You seem to have no understanding of writing. You most probably never wrote before (Properly).)(The way you write, can't provide you contract or fans)(As an contracted Author, I can recommend you to read my books (promoting), to have an insight, on how to write properly.)(Your plot is good, but writing quality is garbage)
this book is truly the next peak fiction I want more of your story
Hello, it's Steel here. After lazying about for a while, I've finally decided to do a personal review and a brief intro to the story. Also, questions are very much welcome under this thread.
i really like the novel's concept ...the story is very entertaining well a little bit frustrating when the mc is been mocked or bullied but I also like the mc character calm and calculative and am really excited about the future plot will he merge with a talented character who had never appeared in the novel or a hidden villain .......am very curious is about the AUTHOR did he give Alden the cheat system or is the system an anomaly that author didn't notice or the author sent Alden to suffer without any system or a good ability ...............or was Sammy even the main character we all know every main character has to be different than all other characters he has to special in someway or another what if he was the main villain after he was consumed by the heart Demon I don't know but am really really really excited for the future chapters
should try a little harder to write and get some inspiration
