I keep thinking about the pit. Not just the physical one they fall into, but the metaphorical pit this whole commune represents. Stone Mountain is isolated, cut off from the outside world. The dining hall is enormous but the food is coarse grain and vegetables—scarcity disguised as collectivist virtue. And then there are the hunting traps dug by commune members, undermining socialism from within. The irony is thick enough to cut with a knife. The commune that's supposed to protect them is literally setting traps for them. Lin Yiqiao calls it out directly: 'They're undermining socialism!' but the author is saying something deeper here. The real danger isn't the open enemy—it's the person standing next to you who smiles and offers to guide you into the mountains. The local guide with the limp and sharp eyes. He looks simple, honest, harmless. That's the whole point. Evil doesn't announce itself with a gunshot; it limps ahead of you and leads you into the dark. And then there's the phone line. Cut. The only connection to the outside world severed, leaving them isolated in the woods with no way to call for help. It's a perfect symbol for how the political climate of this era cut people off from each other, from truth, from safety. Even the uniform Lin Yiqiao straightens before eating—she's performing her identity, her loyalty, her role. But in the pit, none of that matters. Blood doesn't care about your class background. The author keeps returning to this idea that beneath all the political language and military ranks, what's real is human connection. Qi Jun's steady voice, Lin Yiqiao's bloody hands, the way she refuses to leave him. That's the thing the traps can't dig up.
The worldbuilding in this text is doing some serious heavy lifting and I need to talk about it. Let me start with the opening image — the Zhuge family home. 'Anyone with a bit of sense who visited their family would realize that the Huang family, less than two miles away, was far more worthy of envy.' Two miles. The author gives us a specific distance and immediately establishes that these people are struggling without making it a big dramatic speech. Just a factual observation that says everything about their social position. Then there's the contrast between the chaos elsewhere and Nanyang's relative peace. Zhuge Liang's memories of following his father to Taishan Commandery — 'the people had long suffered under Emperor Ling. Despite his father's diligence and dedication, Zhuge Liang could only see the smiles of the powerful families and local magnates, while the common people were always sorrowful and dispirited.' That's a whole era captured in a few sentences. But then he arrives in Nanyang and within six months, 'the people of Nanyang began to wear smiles.' They're chatting about General Zhang winning battles, about Advisor Jia Xu teaching farmers arithmetic and explaining that 'farming itself held great wisdom.' This is how you show governance without a single policy document. The world feels lived-in because the author shows us what ordinary people are talking about, not just what generals and ministers are plotting. The visual of Jia Xu's twenty guards standing 'as straight as pine trees' while he's inside chatting with Zhuge Jun — that's a cinematic shot. You can see it. The window, the open door, the disciplined figures outside while inside there's this weird mismatched conversation happening. The author thinks in images and it shows.
Interesting, love novels where the mc is actually a villain. As long as the mc doesn’t soften up it will continue being a 10/10 form me. Please make sure the mc stays a proper villain author
I like your story ..keep it up...Fell proud to your brother
I have read a lot of books like this on genesis novels, but this one have a lot of unique elements but that damn titles is pure ? to trap readers in; either way, liking the girls so far, and power system as well, although this is the first time I have seen a system that's behaves and operates like this. I will post another review after the first 100 chps.
The novel is very unique, but everything looks too packed together. It's hard to follow anything.Try introducing new things and people a step at a time.
I've read through a bunch of stories to this point. This is a really fun story that I hope continues.
Intersting bro ?.,……………………………………………………..
I can't make it even a few chapters in because I am cringing so much. Now normally I wouldn't write a review just because of that, but I am also confused because lots of people drop the novel because of that, yet there isn't a single other bad review? Only thing I can think of is that the author is deleting reviews with bad ratings or something idk if that is even possible. If not, just know I think this book feels soul crushingly cringe and forced, at least to me. If the author IS deleting reviews, then this doesn't matter because nobody will see it, although I'm more confused by the lack of bad ratings than anything. PS: my statements are my personal feelings and reaction to the book, If you like it then that's great, I'm glad you found a book that you like
Ok, so I have just read the synopsis of this novel. And I am getting interested in it. But it is already too late. So I will start reading it from tomorrow morning. All the best ?
Happy to see another tycoon novel that isn’t translated poorly, can’t wait to see face slaps. Curious if this will end up being harem romance or like warm hearted romance
I would highly recommend this book, it really good. the character development is top notch.
