The dialogue in this chapter is so sharp I kept pausing to appreciate individual lines. Let me just highlight a few that absolutely wrecked me. Ning'an's accusation: 'The entire capital knows she's an illiterate fool. If she didn't plan this piece in advance, I would never believe it!' This is perfect villain dialogue because it's so transparently jealous disguised as logic. You can practically hear the teeth grinding. But the real standout is Mu Nanyin's response: 'Since Your Highness is so certain I planned this in advance, aren't you worried that my calligraphy might also have been practiced long ago?' She doesn't deny it—she weaponizes Ning'an's own logic against her. That's not just clever writing; that's character voice. Mu Nanyin speaks like someone who has learned to fight with words because she can't always fight with force. And Shen Junlin's line: 'Anyone who dares deny this is showing disrespect to me.' Short. Cold. Absolute. Three sentences earlier he was furious at a failed plot, and now he's publicly claiming a wife he barely trusts. The shift in his voice—from angry prince to protective husband—is subtle but the dialogue makes it land. Then there's the General's internal monologue disguised as external panic: 'Provisions! Troops! Military funds!!' The exclamation points do so much work. It's hilarious but also tells us everything we need to know about this man—he loves his daughter but he LOVES the military more, and that's why he's already calculating battalion distributions while his daughter is making life-altering choices. The author's dialogue style is punchy, layered, and every line either advances the plot or reveals character. Rarely both, usually one or the other, but never wasted.
Okay so I just finished these first few chapters and honestly the worldbuilding is *chef's kiss*. The author doesn't just tell us it's a dystopian underground future—they make you FEEL it through tiny sensory details. Like, Chu Xuan wakes up in this less-than-10-square-meter room and the very first thing we get is "the air was murky" and "mottled stains on the ceiling" and this "sense of decay." You don't need a thousand-word exposition dump when you can just describe a room and let the reader's imagination do the work. And then there's the food situation. I cannot get over how much thought went into this. Synthetic rice, synthetic noodles, food blocks as the daily staple, and earthworms—"mango-flavored dried earthworms" is literally in the text and I am NOT okay. The fact that even earthworms are considered a "minor luxury" tells you everything about how dire things are. When Chu Xuan gets that 18-inch cream cake from his sign-in system and eats it like it's the greatest thing in the world, I actually felt his hunger. The cake was something people in the underground city had "grown up without ever seeing." That one line destroyed me. The underground city itself is described with this weird mix of functional and bleak—semicircular corridors, tourist-sightseeing-cart buses with no roof or doors, disinfection and deodorization rooms before you even leave the lab. It feels lived-in, you know? Not just a backdrop but a character itself. And the apartment with those simulation windows that "made it feel as if natural light streamed in"—that detail about fake sunlight is the kind of thing that stays with you. We're a year away from Jupiter swallowing everything and these people are living in dark tunnels with fake windows. The atmosphere is suffocating in the best way.
The writting could be better I feel and better prose but everything else is interesting like the characters. I’m sure though as you go on it will become even better it’s only 9 chapters so I know it will get better keep it up
Great work man! The story is well flowing. Can't wait to see this mortal become a God. General Darklord!
This book had became one of my favourite one's.??????????????????????????????????????????????Please author improve your update speed.
"Fathaless" is truly a great book! The atmosphere is captivating from start to finish, drawing you in and keeping you curious with every page. The characters are well-written, each with depth and realism. The plot flows smoothly—there are no unnecessary stretches or rushed scenes. The descriptions are just right, making it easy to visualize every moment. It's the kind of story that keeps you hooked until the very end!
This book is a mess... It's so inconsistent it already changed the power rating system at least 5 times and I didn't even read till the 40th chapter. The character suddenly loses levels or xp, randomly gains new abilities only because he complains about it and all in all it's just a dumpsterfire. A lvl 2 human wins against a lvl 15 merman. He is able toneasily battle with enemies twice his level and grades, ranks and whatever don't matter at all. If you can turn your head off, like really really off, you might enjoy this, otherwise there's just way too much to throw you off
As the chapters progress, it's strange and unusual, there's a lot of mystery around the main characters, and it makes me look forward to what's next every time 9/10Building the world, this world, people live in the standard of strong and weak, reputation and status, there are all kinds of heroes and demons spread in the world spreading their names, anyway, the power system is unique, and is based on 4 aspects, talent, weapon, and which They call it the ego, the path, the most mysterious yet, the level. There are still no higher worlds or anything that indicates this, the highest level is rank 8, the cultures in this story are divided between 4 cultures, the Morim, the nobles, the magicians, and the monster humans.I give it 10/10, that's unique and exciting The fights are simply amazing, at first the difference is huge, but in close battles, intelligence, cunning, courage and different styles are displayed. There are events brewing, and tribes are fighting, everyone is doing their job based on their interests, and that makes it more exciting than just random fighting. There is no harem yet, and there is no exact indication of it. There are some minor hints of romance, but they have no impact on events. This is a genius move, author. Yes, definitely, 10/10!
Author will this story have insest ...I would like it if it does...and does it have NTR?...netori is fine...Yuri is not fine...and does he find his sister?
Thank you for all these free chapters. I'm very grateful for your hard work. The only problems are how you often mix up genders and names, and also quite a few grammatical errors. However, the translation is still wayyy better than MTLs out there.
