The pacing in this chapter is absolutely masterful. Let me break down why: it opens with a high-stakes negotiation scene—Chen Qing threatening teachers with the Revolutionary Committee—which immediately establishes her as someone who will go to extreme lengths for the children. Then we get a quieter, almost domestic moment where she decides to visit the recycling station. The pace slows down, we breathe, and then—BAM—the He Yuan encounter. The action escalates rapidly from a simple conversation to a full physical altercation to the most embarrassing moment of He Yuan's life, all within a few paragraphs. After that peak, the author does something really smart: they let the tension deflate. Chen Qing sneaks home, can't sleep, worries about retaliation. The next day is almost comically mundane—dozing off at work, complaining about lunch, getting scolded by Director Liu. It's a perfect narrative valley before the final act. And then the evening party scene hits like a freight train. Chen Qing walks into a room of thirty-seven important people and immediately turns the entire situation to her advantage by pretending she's there to pack leftovers. The pacing never drags, never rushes, and every scene transition feels earned.
What struck me most in these chapters was the quiet devastation of Xu Qiao's emotional landscape. She's not just navigating a novel plot—she's carrying the weight of knowing she's destined to be killed by Pei Jinchuan, and that knowledge has curdled something fundamental in her heart. When she says, 'I hate him, and I can't help it,' to Su Jiaojiao, there's no performative villainy there. That's genuine, raw resentment from someone who's been told her entire future is predetermined suffering. It made my chest tighten. The sibling dynamics between Xu Qiao and Xu Feng are equally layered. He's protective to the point of violence—ready to eliminate Pei Jinchuan before he becomes a threat—but Xu Qiao has to manipulate him, playing the coquettish younger sister to steer him away from the very action that would destroy her carefully laid plans. There's a heartbreaking moment when she swallows the words about the system, about what she's truly discovered, because she knows her brother's nature. He would rather burn the world than let her suffer. That love is both her anchor and her cage. And then there's Xu Rou, trapped in the cousin's body, trying to win over Song Zhiyu while simultaneously being monitored by the very system that brought her here. Her internal monologue is a constant war between her genuine reactions and her strategic calculations. When she's forced to play frisbee with Xu Qiao, the tension is suffocating—both women are performing, both are hiding something, and both are desperately lonely in their own ways. The friendship with Su Jiaojiao feels like a lifeline Xu Qiao refuses to fully grasp. Su Jiaojiao is genuinely on her side, offering information about Song Zhiyu, teasing about Jiang Wangye, trying to connect. But Xu Qiao keeps her at arm's length, circling Song Zhiyu's name with her pen like it's a weapon rather than a person. The romantic tension is there—the dark, provocative eyes, the system's warnings, the almost-attraction that keeps getting intercepted by fear—but it's tangled up in survival instinct in a way that makes every interaction feel like walking through glass.
This book captures love, fate, and timing in the most beautiful way. Arjun and Ayesha’s connection is unforgettable, their emotions raw, and their journey through words and silence is mesmerizing.
Started off with an eerily bang the Storyteller is so intriguing and the first chapter is everything. I feel bad for Ezra thought we're not entirely sure what he went through. Oberyn is such a cute little guy and i'm hoping for the best for this pair in this unknown 'earth'There's magic and seems to be different creatures. I wonder what fate has in store for them. The writing is easy to follow and so funny too with the interactions. Keep it up Author!
The story has a really good start?, it straight up gave the reader’s curiosity about missing for five years? when I thought that it was just gonna be a normal school genre thing haha. And kinda curious about his friends too so yeh imma keep reading hehe?
it's interesting story, there is still not a lot of chapter so I can't say anything for sure but it seems there is no actual female lead as for now as he only wants to kill the goddess along with the Jason as well... as for mc's abilities we didn't saw a lot of things but it looks like his dark emotions amplifies his mana core or strength or I may be wrong it's just a theory. I didn't understand chapter 22 tho maybe it was a memory he forgotten back in the earth or he has another past life before the earth one.
As the author of this novel I know it's biased, but the shameless writer genuinely believes this story offers something truly unique. It's an experience, not just a story.Dive into a world where grief twists into horror, and power comes at a terrifying price. It plunges you into Kai's nightmare, a place where reality bleeds into the surreal. The chill that creeps up your spine where visions blur the lines between reality and nightmare. It's the visceral thrill of a fight where power is both a gift and a curse. I poured my heart into crafting a world where emotions are raw, and the supernatural is terrifyingly real. If you love dark fantasy with a psychological edge and crave a story that will leave you questioning reality, this is for you. And want to hear from you! What scene resonated with you the most? What questions are burning in your mind? Let's connect! I'll be answering comments. Join me in exploring the darkness.
Nothing better than reading a good story of revenge ☝️?, I can't wait to read more
I read the novel for the first time, but it didn’t feel like it….The story was very easy to understand and imagine... I really liked the main character, especially his fighting style, which I enjoyed the most.
You know its is very bloody but its nice to read something different for once. It isn't a bunch of reincarnation gibberish i think this can be a fun ride
Being betrayed must hurt a lot, but I mean it, this story is really good, the pacing also feels natural and not rushed, The content of the story is also interesting, remains enthusiastic, and is always consistent.
