Recent novel reviews

After reading many werewolves and/or system novels, I decided to give this one as my first review. I've read most of the existing reviews and decided to give my 2 cents.

Writing: Yeah, I can see why some people dislike it. The writing at the beginning does justify the negative reviews. I personally didn't mind it as much since I (slowly) skimmed through it. It got better for the later chapters and I can see the author's effort to improve. Regardless, the writing is nothing stellar but not horrible either (for the later parts that is). The use of onomatopoeias is pretty excessive for my liking personally but I understand the author's intention for the tone of the novel to be much more casual. After some amount of re-reading, it certainly has somewhat grown on me.  

Plot: I think the story is fantastic. It doesn't have a strong start (after the main character got the system). I did not enjoy the school setting very much, but that's just my personal taste. However, things get increasingly more enjoyable as the story advances further. I really like the psychological mind games between the protagonist and the antagonists here, albeit sometimes it gets slightly dragged out a bit. Also, I would love to see some hints or appearances of the werewolf who killed his parents since it was the main antagonist after all.

Characters: The main character is the reason why I'm in love with this novel. Sure, he's certainly not the brightest sometimes, but I love everything else about him. Unlike most MCs I came across, he's not some ordinary high school twink who suddenly found supernatural powers. Even before the appearance of the system, the dude was an absolute menace, being in the military force against supernaturals as a normal human. He's very cunning and ruthless, which is extremely fitting for a werewolf. Other than the MC, the females are quite lacking. Harem is not my cup of tea so I'm glad that this one is not too overbearing.

World building: The setting is pretty good. The world building is not heavy as it adds bits and pieces as the story goes on through the MC's missions. I really like the war-like atmosphere with a magi-tech world.

Overall, while it is not the best, it is certainly very enjoyable. I am currently and will continue to purchase privileged chapters and support the author.

PS: If you are dissapointed with this novel, I HIGHLY suggest "The Harvester"

some clarification regarding Mc of this novel. if you're looking for smart or cunning, or jack all of trade MC, then this novel may not be for you. you can proceed with your search and leave this section.

that's the warning now it's for the clarification.

I have been reading a lot of complaints saying the mc is dumb or idiot. stop with your twisted logic guys, if someone is not smart it does not mean he's an idiot or dumb. I never created the MC to be smart, he just, a dude who never finished his middle-school and has been fighting on the street for almost half of his life. that's basically the mc's background, a street thug who talks by his fist. Drop your high expectation for him to be cunning or something else.

does the mc will change in the future? yes, of course, there will be character development for him. He will change as the story goes on.

My idea of the Main Character is not someone perfect in everything, but someone who is good at one thing and uses that thing to the top. I have even an idea to use a disabled as the Main Character. anyway, In this case, the Main Character is good at fighting and he will fight all the way to the top. that's it.

if one day, I make a smart main character, he would never be strong, but he just uses his smart brain to solve everything which is extremely hard to create (at least for me, it's hard).

That's it, while I am here, the chapter's length is around 1200-2000 words, so sometimes you will feel the chapter is long and sometimes short.

I'm just writing this review because of the annoying update stability.....
okay,  no big deal that there isn't a fixed amount of chapters per day, really, but at least try to keep the updates at the same time per day. one day you get them on point, then one the next morning (why?), then one day with no update (why??), then one day with two chapters (nice) and the next with none (why????). if the author can't keep up with updating/translating say something... or just say: " one chapter per day" no big deal

Anyways:
Some grammatical errors. But way better than average.

Really good and interesting story. Some annoying side stories and/or filler chapters that don't have any value.

Is a harem novel. So no characters that are too deep,  but at least way above other novels.

Nice world background. System/Apocalypse, nothing new,  but nicely implemented.

Things why this novel is at top of my apocalypse genre novel list.
1. The world background is really detailed and logically explained, the name mutagen really is well suited.
2. Anti-hero Protagonist who only helps people when he wants something out of it, it's convenient or just plain easy for him.
3. Updates every day with a new chapter.
4. The type of evolution that the zombies and mutants follow is very unique and has a good variety to them.
5. The MC makes rational decisions. And always tries to see a way to benefit himself or his team.
6. Loved the power which the MC possesses in the apocalypse, never seen it before in apocalypse novel.

Overall it's an amazing apocalypse novel and it will be a great experience for all. It just has some Gore and scenes of mature content so read at your own discretion.

Author really impressed with the novel, the quality of the chapters, and the one chapter per day update is really appreciated. Thanks for writing this novel and keep up the great work, i appreciate it. ??

Hello everyone, Author here.

This would be my first time to actually write a something so I want to thank those who wanted to read and those who had already gone through the current chapters.

I'm not shameless enough to give my own writing a 5 star rating but I of course it still being a bit shameless giving this rating. Well, it's my own written story after all.

As a newbie author I know that there is a lot that I needed to improve at but I guarantee that my concept in creating the whole background of the story to be quite interesting.

Anyways, I would appreciate if you guys leave reviews or even criticize me for errors on my writing and things I needed to improve on.

DISCLAIMER: I only made it to around chapter 20, the review is based on those chapters.

Oh boy.
This novel is absolutely horrendous.
To start of, writing quality is a dumpster fire, there are tons of plot holes and inconsistencies which you cover up by saying,

‘Mc who has no real life experience and only stayed home watching anime until the story started made a backup plan to the ****ty plan he made in the first place’

for example, him letting the other gangsters run away and *past* the zombies the Mc attracted w/ his gunshot instead of back into the theater. What was the backup plan anyway?

Something along the lines of ‘he had a backup plan for that anyway’ just doesn’t cut it.

And don’t even get me started on him not destroying his wrist with his shotgun. He shot it ONE HANDED. a SHOTGUN. instead this kid who happened to be the Mc has pinpoint Accuracy and insane logical thinking.

Now, the side characters. Ignoring that for some reason they’re all female except the poor shop  workout without a name, it feels like even the ‘fleshed out’ ones are just cardboard cutouts. And why did you think TWO chapters of FILLER BACKSTORY would be a good idea? Nobody cares about this character and wasting time isn’t gonna help.



And please nobody even say something like ‘hmph, you are simply low iq without patience, the novel gets better you absolute cabbage..’ I don’t care if it gets better, the beginning is what hooks your reader.

I’m not wasting more time reading more of this poor excuse for a novel.

Contains r*pe, what else one could say i think some author doesn't understand some things are uncomfortable to read especially things like this and don't even try to justify this saying *it's the truth of world*.

Even if it is most people read novels and fanfics to pass the stress and boredom after a hectic day while these things makes it traumatizing and futher disturb the readers.

If someone says i am being overdramatic then there's something wrong with your mindset.

Keeping it short and simple. Slight spoiler at the first point

1. Lets talk about our protagonist(s). To think that the description and the first 10 chapters keep on mentioning that he is a shut-in, and cant be social at all, does not do the novel justice. In no way shape or form, does the novel express how our MC is an Otaku, besides being a “Shut in”; yet they only became a shut-in due to mental illnesses.

Thought it was unique and all, Otaku + Apocalypse. A shame.

2. The plural s in the first point. Not a single chapter after the very first few had a dedicated “Otaku” MC alone, ever.
Could have simply made the description actually describe who our actual protagonists are, which is better than the false advertising there.

The first 2 were just what disappointed me about it, the upcoming 2 were what made me drop it after only 100 chapters.

3. Characters and their development. I cannot begin to stress how these stupidly useless baggages are. They are just there to either A) Anger you or B) Just to fill in the messing anger you would feel towards any character(you can never get attached to anyone at all, not even the MC).

Each character that continues to stay with the MC has an average of 2 chapters only for them and how they got to that certain moment. I bet skipping all of the characters’ “fillers” would just make the novel from 300 chapters long to 100 chapters.

4. The Mutagen apocalypse of cliches. You will undoubtedly be able to guess what will happen and when; every chapter where our MC fights will be met with an almost perfectly predictable situation. You will never get a bad plot twist, let alone a good one.
What more would you expect from the cliche apocalypse, the amount of cliches it has is absurd.

Consider dropping the novel after you reach 50 chapters, the rest is completely predictable even the ending is as well.

I have read nearly 700 ch of this novel and all i can say is this novel is one of the best if not the best novel out there.
-the characters and the world background are properly fleshed out, you can tell that the author has done some really good research on locations, folklore and co.
-mc has no harem, he only has his wife and adopted children
-really refreshing and diverse abilities which follow a logical consistency for all characters
-mc is coolheaded, doesn´t save everybody, he calculates the danger his actions mean for his companions and he screens ( with his ability) the savee if they are worth it to be saved or he gets paid for it
-mc believes in equal exchange ( doesnt do shit for free)
-he strengthens his family so they can protect themselves ( massiv plus point)
-writing quality is good better than 90% of the other novels out there, there are still some grammatical and spelling errors. The author uses his and her right (balsam for my poor soul)
-and the most important of all : IT IS NOT REPETITIVE

'Hidden Marriage' rip-off nonsense where every would-be story arc happens in one chapter. Who cares if the original is completed? How hard is it to slap tropes on a page, and I mean a SINGLE page? If we're lucky, a whole story arc lasts almost 2 pages.

This is your typical Green Tea Bish stepmother and her White Lotus daughter plotting against the FL. Her fiance and father fall for it because men in these books have to be dumb as rocks or so OCD that they're 30 and have never touched a woman. After the set up in which the FL is - wait for it- DRUGGED, she packs her belongings into a suitcase and heads to the Civil Registration office to get married on 5/20 because all ***** women hit 18 and plan to marry any old male rag,  bone, and hank of hair so long as it's on 5/20 or Valentine's Day.

Jesus take me now. This book is so moronic. I'm  tired of even typing this review.

Our dashing ML CEO/billionaire is there to register a marriage with a wise woman who fails to show up. What's a scumbag billionaire to do? I know! How about marrying a clearly drugged 18 year old and having *** twice with said unconscious 18 year old child bride in a Bentley, with a driver in the front seat, while in a traffic jam?

This is lazy arse writing at it's  worst.

FL wakes up,  slips her dirty butt out of the car while he's  outside the car looking for a way out of the traffic jam because I guess he respects his driver too much to let the driver worry about the driving aspects of driving. Too bad he doesn't show the same decency when it comes to marrying and publicly shagging drugged 18 year olds looking to get married to anybody on the most romantic day of the year.

Please don't  be on this planet, reading this nonsense and driving and voting and having kids. If you're  reading this, you lack judgement and shouldn't be  doing any driving, voting, or breeding.

We're  on Chapter 8 or 9 now. After the FL left the ML's car backseat/honeymoon suite, she went to the airport, flew  to the US, found out she was 4 months pregnant, and it was too late to get an abortion so she didn't. One kid dies at birth and the one that lives is a hideous know-it-all, a snarky CEO trapped in a 4 year old's body because we have to have these sarcastic little monsters that make you drop the book, otherwise the author would actually have to come up with a plot and develop ***** characters who DON'T have to talk through a smarty pants kid.

Seriously, embroider your mask, create drama on social media, snip holes in the socks of the family member you're  most tired of quarantining  with, learn a language, or teach your cat to bark. Do any of these things - or none of these things -  but don't  waste your life on this book.

Author ? Lazy AF.

I don't know what happened to WB but I have to say that the last few batches of trial novels are really not outstanding but disappointing to say the least. In this case you have the typical cliché of a young girl betrayed by her half-sister, stepmother, father and ex-fiance...she stumbled into the first man that crossed her road who magically is a young, rich, handsome and overbearing CEO who rules the world ....She got drugged, had *** and got pregnant... what to say? There's nothing new here!!! Continue your road! Worse in this badly written one everything happened in the first 10 chapters or so....you know how this will end up so why wasting time?

I completed the book over the weekend and it was engaging enough that I read 1800 chapters. It is a Combination of Hidden Marriage and Trial Marriage with loving FL and ML.  The first scene looks like Trial marriage and I was going to drop it but the author throws a couple of unique face slapping and Ml’s pursuit of the fl was very sweet and Unique. it’s Not the constant money throwing but Behind the scenes support actions that impressed me. the FL is very lovable not the super hero fl type that Has super hacking, gaming or fighting skilles.  She is just Smart, kind and honest that everyone wants To love. The story is not Perfect but reads fine through MTL and if u r looking for above 18 scenes, author just indicates the Beginning and then next day.
