A series of four murders at Bailu Academy over four days. The victims died by different means: Liu Xi (heart pierced by broken brush), Yang Jun (strangled with zither strings), Zeng Wenhe (smothered with wet pages), and Chang Qing (poisoned with yu stone). The killer committed suicide, but Qi Xun's examination revealed Chang Qing was murdered, not suicidal. The case drew involvement from the Ministry of Justice, Court of Judicial Review, and the capital prefecture.
