A member of the Yan family who rescued Wang Daniu and his father when they fell off a cliff while hunting. The Wang family arranged a marriage between Yan Lao'er's four-year-old son and two-year-old Lu Qingqing as thanks. The Yan family was poor, and the elders later exploited Yan Lao'er's family, eventually driving them out.
